You just watched THE greatest vocalist of ALL time! On EVERY performance you will be shocked! He sings in all genres and 12 languages. This was 4 1/2 years ago, you should see how much he’s improved today! He now has a range of over 7 octaves, beautiful in every register! You should react next to his latest three songs Stranger (in English), Ave Maria (no lyrics), Fly Away (in English) from New Wave August 2021. You won’t believe how much he has improved and this SOS from 2017, was already a perfect performance! His 2021 performance of SOS (sung in French) from his digital show in Jan 2021 was even more amazing! Dimash is 27 now, from Kazakhstan. He’s 6ft 3in tall and has won many awards as the most beautiful man in the world. Oh, and he’s extremely humble! Pretty much perfect! Classically university trained since the age of 5. Angel, Dimash has the ability and unique talent to push artistry beyond what our ears have heard because he enters our soul, massages it, transforms, and removes all those veneers hiding within, healing old wounds and causes the ASMR (chills) to render you speechless and regroup recapturing your soul to get grounded again. Dimash is a phenomenon from Kazakhstan. Dimash is one of the best, if not the best, singers on the planet today. He started singing lessons at 5 years old and was later found to have perfect pitch. Dimash has been on stage since childhood: he sang and played the piano at various venues and competitions throughout his childhood. The young artist was not only a bright performer of famous hits, but also the author of his own songs. He had written seven songs by the age of 24. His genres include rap, pop, rock, classic, Opera, traditional Kazakh folk and ballad. He is University educated with degrees in classical and opera, as well as contemporary music, pop and jazz. He also completed a Broadway musical master class. On June 18th, 2020 he completed his masters specializing in composition and received his masters with honours having achieved the maximum score of 100%. He is currently working on his PhD in musical composition. His 7 octave range (C2-D8 whistle tone) and 10 semitones is beyond comparison. His vocals range from a rich low bass/baritone to extremely high soprano notes. On at least one occasion he has sung a D8 in whistle tone for 5 seconds with vibrato. He is humbly dismissive of this astounding fact and stresses that it is not the amount of range you have but in fact how you use it to move people. On top of all this, he embodies every song he sings and always gives 100% for his audience. He's a genius at mixing genres in a song, a style he himself refers to himself as neo-classic. He has won many prestigious awards and is a decorated national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He is also famous in Russia for his neoclassical work with famous Russian/Ukrainian composer and arranger Igor Krutoy who came out of retirement to collaborate with Dimash. Igor has written songs for Dimash and arranged previously composed music specifically for Dimash. He is often at the piano for many of Dimash's performances. Dimash has since introduced pop songs in Russia as well. He was on a solo world tour when the pandemic struck. There are several full concerts available to watch online. His concerts are usually around 2 ½ hours with an eclectic mix of vocal styles and genres. He was born into a musical family and both of his parents are famous singers and musicians in Kazakhstan, his mother being an operatic soprano. He was offered a position in the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned this position down to pursue his own path in neoclassical and contemporary music. Haha! You are right where I was about a year and a half ago. I had just gone on furlough because of the pandemic and I wanted to start listening to singers other than those found in the US. I began by watching a wide variety of CZcams videos of people reacting to various performers and reading the comments posted to each video. Dimash's name was mentioned almost all of the time. So, long story short, I found the very same video to which you just reacted and had the very same reaction! This performance on the Chinese annual singing competition on "The Singer" was watched by 600 million Chinese households...the next morning Dimash had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life! I'm 70 years old and I've never heard/seen anyone sing/perform like Dimash...he surprises you in every single video! Like you, I am not a singer or vocal coach, but I know what I like. Oh, before I forget, there is someone else to whom you should react...she is a Russian singer by the name of Diana Ankudinova. She is currently 18 years old and has a voice you will simply not believe! Try her two performances in "Wicked Game" when she was 14 and "Human" when she was 15....incredible!!

The lights the sound engineering the backup vocals the instruments anything you can see Dimash did. I didn’t believe till I went away and read the comments and his bio. That's so true about the eyes and ears playing tricks on each other. There are a couple of memes on the internet about a picture having a "sound". The reverse is true for Dimash. He can be at any artistic pose holding a microphone and I can honestly say that I have NO clue what sound is coming out except that it is AMAZING.

Well, Angel, you have just barely scratched the surface of what this guy can do. I discovered this song and performance four years ago and I've never looked back. For me it has become Dimash day in and day out because he covers virtually every genre of music known to man and because all the other most important music of my music obsessed life somehow seems less important to me. If you choose to take a trip through Dimashland it is a journey you will never regret. But keep a seat belt handy; you may need it from time to time. He has the ability to amaze you right out of your chair! Recommendations for the next step in your journey: "Adagio" (the 2017 version on The Singer), "Your Love," "Love Is Like a Dream," "Love of Tired Swans," "Olimpico," and "Across Endless Dimensions."

Dimash is a phenomenon from Kazakhstan.
Dimash is one of the best, if not the best, singers on the planet today. He started singing lessons at 5 years old and was later found to have perfect pitch.
Dimash has been on stage since childhood: he sang and played the piano at various venues and competitions throughout his childhood. The young artist was not only a bright performer of famous hits, but also the author of his own songs. He had written seven songs by the age of 24.
His genres include rap, pop, rock, classic, Opera, traditional Kazakh folk and ballad. He is University educated with degrees in classical and opera, as well as contemporary music, pop and jazz.
He also completed a Broadway musical master class. On June 18th, 2020 he completed his masters specializing in composition and received his masters with honours having achieved the maximum score of 100%. He is currently working on his PhD in musical composition.
His 7 octave range (C2-D8 whistle tone) and 10 semitones is beyond comparison.
His vocals range from a rich low bass/baritone to extremely high soprano notes. On at least one occasion he has sung a D8 in whistle tone for 5 seconds with vibrato. He is humbly dismissive of this astounding fact and stresses that it is not the amount of range you have but in fact how you use it to move people. On top of all this, he embodies every song he sings and always gives 100% for his audience.
He's a genius at mixing genres in a song, a style he himself refers to himself as neo-classic. He has won many prestigious awards and is a decorated national treasure in his native Kazakhstan.
Dimash has performed songs in 12 different languages: his native language Kazakh, as well as Russian, Mandarin, English, French, Ukrainian, Italian, Kyrgyz, Turkish, Serbian, German, and Spanish. He speaks Kazakh and Russian, and studies English and Mandarin which he says is a difficult language to learn but he's doing well with it.
On May 24th, 2021 Dimash celebrated his 27th birthday. At 22 he was invited as a wild card to participate in I Am a Singer, a Chinese competition show for professional singers. He ultimately placed second because at the time the rules of the show disallowed anyone who wasn't Chinese to take first place. The show catapulted him to relative stardom worldwide and he became a pop superstar in China.
He is also famous in Russia for his neoclassical work with famous Russian/Ukrainian composer and arranger Igor Krutoy who came out of retirement to collaborate with Dimash. Igor has written songs for Dimash and arranged previously composed music specifically for Dimash. He is often at the piano for many of Dimash's performances.
Dimash has since introduced pop songs in Russia as well. He was on a solo world tour when the pandemic struck. There are several full concerts available to watch online. His concerts are usually around 2 ½ hours with an eclectic mix of vocal styles and genres. He was born into a musical family and both of his parents are famous singers and musicians in Kazakhstan, his mother being an operatic soprano. He was offered a position in the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned this position down to pursue his own path in neoclassical and contemporary music.
Although he works with producers, promoters and music labels in other countries his music is produced and distributed through his own company called Dimashali Creative Center.
Dimash plays seven instruments: piano, drums, guitar, keyboard, dombra (the most popular Kazakh instrument, like a lute), marimba (like a xylophone), and bayan (which is like an accordion).
Dimash is most widely known through his live performances and has released several albums, the first one going platinum in 37 seconds in China and triple platinum in less than an hour.
It has been widely recognized that his high notes are not whistle tones but head voice. Dimash rarely uses his whistle register but when he does it is spectacular.
He has many millions of fans worldwide which he has named his "Dears" He is soft spoken, polite, respectful, elegant and classy, also extremely humble, and possesses a wonderful sometimes self-deprecating sense of humor. He is often dismissive of his amazing talent and seldom goes without mentioning his love of country and its history.

Haha! You are right where I was about a year and a half ago. I had just gone on furlough because of the pandemic and I wanted to start listening to singers other than those found in the US. I began by watching a wide variety of CZcams videos of people reacting to various performers and reading the comments posted to each video. Dimash's name was mentioned almost all of the time. So, long story short, I found the very same video to which you just reacted and had the very same reaction! This performance on the Chinese annual singing competition on "The Singer" was watched by 600 million Chinese households...the next morning Dimash had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life! I'm 70 years old and I've never heard/seen anyone sing/perform like Dimash...he surprises you in every single video! Like you, I am not a singer or vocal coach, but I know what I like.
Oh, before I forget, there is someone else to whom you should react...she is a Russian singer by the name of Diana Ankudinova. She is currently 18 years old and has a voice you will simply not believe! Try her two performances in "Wicked Game" when she was 14 and "Human" when she was 15....incredible!!

When I saw this like you for the first time that’s what I thought. But, Dimash is way way way more than that. Dimash was a child prodigy, but not just vocals he was a child prodigy with everything he touched. What I did after I saw this I went to wikipedia and searched him there. I suggest you go there . There are a couple of memes on the internet about a picture having a "sound". The reverse is true for Dimash. He can be at any artistic pose holding a microphone and I can honestly say that I have NO clue what sound is coming out except that it is AMAZING.

Well, Angel, you have just barely scratched the surface of what this guy can do. I discovered this song and performance four years ago and I've never looked back. For me it has become Dimash day in and day out because he covers virtually every genre of music known to man and because all the other most important music of my music obsessed life somehow seems less important to me. If you choose to take a trip through Dimashland it is a journey you will never regret. But keep a seat belt handy; you may need it from time to time. He has the ability to amaze you right out of your chair!
