This is perfect!! I told my 4 YO daughter last night we could make a treasure map for a treasure hunt and it’s been evolving into a much bigger thing! Can you antique the paper first and then easily draw on it with colored pencils? Or would it be better to draw first and then antique it??

That paper looks beautiful. Need to show how the paper looks after you have used it in a diy. That would make an excellent video. Hope to see one soon . Love all your videos.

Thank you so much! I have watched several videos, for my class, showing them how to make paper look old. Your video is, by far, the easiest, safest, and least messy of all my searching! Thank you! Sending the hubby for instant coffee right now.

Ohhhh my! You did NOT just use that Tim Hortons coffee on that paper!!! Lol! Being from WNY we love our Canadian coffee (maybe too much)!! Love this but I will be using dollar tree coffee… not the good stuff! Thanks for sharing!

I dissolve instant coffee with hot water in a tiny bowl. Add more or less coffee for different intensities of aging. I use a paintbrush to apply the solution onto the paper. I have an old window screen which I use to dry my papers quickly by laying the wet papers on top then placing the screen over a raised area to let air circulate around the papers until dry. Works great as well when making handmade paper.

    I don't have a heat gun or a hair dryer! 😔

I very much love this idea- I am wanting to do this to a page from a vintage hymn book, then decoupage the page to wood. After the coffee stained age is dry, how would I get my page flat and soft enough to decoupage it? I just found you on you tube/ I am so glad! Thank you for your help I am new to doing decoupage 😳

Hello, love this technique, I always took some Tim Holtz antique linen ink to age my paper, but I love the effect of your technique, will be trying it very soon. Thank you for sharing and have a great day !

I use coffee and tea to age my papers. There's also "cinnamon staining" papers but I haven't done that yet. To add more of an authentic aged look, I'll also add some coffee smears, drops & splatters. Love it! I love how you make the paper edge rough -- it's perfect!

Fantastic idea, and not very messy, thanku for showing us.

Hi! This is fabulous! Sometimes getting certain results fast is great. This is one of those processes. I had been so reluctant to try making stain paper because of the oven drying process. Now even my kid can do this! It looks so genuine. I can hardly wait to try it. Thank you so much for sharing!
