The news does not give you an accurate representation of ways you could die. The most likely ways you'll die (other than to disease) are drug overdose and car accident. Vehicles that have stop signs (the white Audi SUV) NEVER have priority over vehicles that don’t (the cam car). That white Audi SUV was impatient and should have been sure no vehicles would have crossed their path before proceeding. That said, cam car should have exercised defensive driving once it became clear the Audi was going to run the stop sign. @@Domthedominator7 the white Audi did not run the stop sign. Yes they must yield, but first we have to ask, did the Cammer indicate he was making a left turn there. If the Cammer failed to indicate, then he is just as much at fault turning after the Audi had already moved off.

#4. Come on, Don, you were taking up the entire road (I HATE when someone making a left occupies the space for the opposing lane when they get to a 'T' intersection, leaving no room for someone coming off the road it intersects with. I guess it makes some sense in your case since that Toyota was about to hit the "left front" of your car, which was actually the RIGHT front... #10 - check that rule (what state is it?). Left on red may only be legal when going from one-way to one-way, I see opposing traffic on your road...
The "left turn onto a one-way street unless specifically prohibited" actually IS a rule in Alaska (where the video is from) ... BUT, the sign on the traffic signal arm says "left turn only on green light", i.e. specifically prohibited on red -- so in this instance the cammer did violate the statute. He can be forgiven somewhat as it appears he may have been trying to aid the accident victims.
@@markfisher1392I'm sure he did it because he was going to help, but there's a car *right there* waiting to turn right. And I think that left on red rule is true in every state that allows right on red. Drives me nuts when people won't do it.
7:10 I got cobbered by a no-turn-on-red when I was making a legal U-turn and the passengers in the other car swore to the cops that they had the green. Happened on one of the most traffic-cammed intersections in the county. His car undriveable, totalled, mine driveable but totalled. His insurance tried to file against mine but there was video.
At 3:45, looks like cammer was the one at fault. They were in the left most left turn lane and should have stayed in the left most lane after the turn, when in fact, they turned into the center lane instead.
When the lines reaches out that far, you are allowed to choose between the center and the left lane. The other car is required to go into that far right lane and shouldn't have been going into the center lane at all.

18. That’s a confusing intersection but it looks to me like you should have turned behind the car. They had stopped and were in motion already. You turned in front of them.
we have a road like that near where i live and one side has a stop sign and the other side can go straight or do a slight left in front of them. it seems weird but the person with the stop sign is legally obligated to yield to everyone else so the cammer had the right of way and the white car should’ve stayed there until they finished their turn. at the intersection by my house people fail to signal a lot and so everyone just kind of knows to wait until no one is coming just in case but it can be really confusing and potentially dangerous for anyone who isn’t familiar with intersections like that.

4:55: Legally, you can drive up to "300 feet" in the two-way central lane in Georgia. So, the vehicles entering the roadway are still at fault for failure to yield. (40-6-126.)
@@donnash5813 "Obviously" is not a legal argument, because no one can prove future actions. The vehicle could legally take the next turnoff, within 300 feet, or even perform a legal U-turn. The point is that right-of-way is not forfeit based on what someone else _assumes_ moving traffic is going to do. The vehicles turning left need to look and yield, not guess when entering the roadway.
@@donnash5813 Again, "obviously" is not a factual argument. Either we can prove the vehicle travelled beyond 300 feet prior to the collision, or not; and _obviously,_ we cannot prove that based on this clip. People worry about dying in all sorts of ways - plane crash, school shootings, police shooting, fire, drowning, radiation poisoning. But they seem to throw caution to the wind when driving their car. The news does not give you an accurate representation of ways you could die. The most likely ways you'll die (other than to disease) are drug overdose and car accident. 6:28 You made a left turn after the oncoming vehicle had started from their stop sign, you are at fault. You only have right of way if you follow the bend around to the right.
Also that wasn’t a “left turn” it’s called a Y-intersection and vehicles on the stem part of the Y usually don’t have stop signs and have priority regardless of whether they’re bearing right or left.
@@Domthedominator7 the white Audi did not run the stop sign. Yes they must yield, but first we have to ask, did the Cammer indicate he was making a left turn there. If the Cammer failed to indicate, then he is just as much at fault turning after the Audi had already moved off.
@@johnt.848you judge intent by where people are pointing their wheels not solely by their signal. #10 - check that rule (what state is it?). Left on red may only be legal when going from one-way to one-way, I see opposing traffic on your road...
The "left turn onto a one-way street unless specifically prohibited" actually IS a rule in Alaska (where the video is from) ... BUT, the sign on the traffic signal arm says "left turn only on green light", i.e. specifically prohibited on red -- so in this instance the cammer did violate the statute. we have a road like that near where i live and one side has a stop sign and the other side can go straight or do a slight left in front of them. it seems weird but the person with the stop sign is legally obligated to yield to everyone else so the cammer had the right of way and the white car should’ve stayed there until they finished their turn. at the intersection by my house people fail to signal a lot and so everyone just kind of knows to wait until no one is coming just in case but it can be really confusing and potentially dangerous for anyone who isn’t familiar with intersections like that.

4:55: Legally, you can drive up to "300 feet" in the two-way central lane in Georgia. So, the vehicles entering the roadway are still at fault for failure to yield. (40-6-126.)
You should be turning at the next intersection which would be the road to the left. Car was obviously using the turn lane as a travel lane.
300 feet is a short distance. The car in the turn lane was obviously driving more than that. It would be interesting to know who got the ticket.
@@donnash5813 Again, "obviously" is not a factual argument. Either we can prove the vehicle travelled beyond 300 feet prior to the collision, or not; and _obviously,_ we cannot prove that based on this clip. What the vehicle might have done in a different version of a future reality is pure conjecture. The fact is that the vehicle crossing the road failed to yield the right-of-way.
As I said, it would be interesting to see who got the ticket. I wish some of these gave more information.
