The 2 piece pedestal came on pickups but was more common on f650 and international 4700 cab and chassis vehicles. When the ipr is not functioning properly its common to see stand pipe damage from overpressure. If the pintle is jammed in the ipr you can easily blow a brand new seal. I experienced a van that kept coming back and I replaced the orings several times and they just kept failing. I swapped the ipr, replaced the stand pipe oring and it was just fine after. The 2 piece mount came on 0304 trucks with the 10 blade turbo. Later trucks were equipped with a 14 blade turbo for 05 06 and 07.
we had those for a hot minute when engineering was trying to solve the original droning noise issue those trucks had when they were new. after that they had a new designed one piece setup and you had to zero the exhaust. 21 year FOMOCO senior master tech
@@ouimetco loosen all the clamps and free up all the exhaust components first then tighten up the parts starting at the down pipe clamp (one at a time of course 😂) work your way back through the exhaust system making sure that the exhaust system can move in it's hangers relatively free with out binding or being stiff in the hangers. Rotate the pipes if need be.
Have fun paying crazy interest on some retarded bills that look like you got diagnosed with stage 3 and they tried to stop it but it moved to stage 4 anyway
I got one that has me stumped currently. 6.0 ford, had to jump in morning, drove 45 mins started missing, had to be somewhere nursed it a few miles before it would barely get going off the start then kept loosing pedal/ power. Rough idle and a 3 & 8 injector contrib. Code. It would clear out in neutral while giving fuel but as soon as I would shift to drive want to die out couldn’t move. Still has even crank, no fuel bubble or issues with fuel to secondary. Ipr is within while cranking, icp same. Swapped ficm, no issues swapped back. Batteries are on chargers and full but sounded weak and drop to 9 during crank. Starter gave out right after. 🤷♂️. If not running tomorrow plan on pulling motor and putting back up trucks in. If you have any ideas I thought it was fuel related swapped with new pump. No recent engine work. Radiator looks like it’s starting to go, blow back out of cap
@finnmccool4943, Yes, that is correct. Most of all the Hot no-starts, come from O-ring problems with Stand Pipes, Dummy Plugs, or Injector D-Rings. On this one, it was having a sudden shut off, with no-start, at a certain temp (around 197-199 *F degrees). Shut offs are not common with o-ring problems. And it also had an IPR code, for open circuit, which would only arise at that temp. IPR ended up being the problem. Running good now. Almost a month...
Tons of black smoke, loss of power, and loss of boost is the turbo in case you're wondering prob bc it has a leak in the exhaust side or it is detached
I think thats an aftermarket one tho I'm not positive. It was a common problem for the turbo pedestals to break so maybe this is some type of aftermarket mod.

I doubt that’s stock… I’m guessing that since that larger piece only had 2 mounting points (pretty sure there’s supposed to be 3) someone could’ve modified it for a non VGT turbo, and then someone later swapped it back and did a ghetto replacement of a 3rd pedestal mounting point

Ford should have built it right in the first place instead of perpetuating yet another fraud on the car buying public which resulted in many class action suits. About a half dozen of them in the last 10 years
@apolinarponce4506, Yes, in very few cases, in the 2nd generation 6.0's, the HPOP can be the hot no-start. These have a better design then the early generation 6.0. It tends to be O-rings that cause these problems, more often than not. And in very few cases, like in this one, it's the IPR that looses it's 8nternal circuit at a certain tempature, caising this Shut down, with no-start once hot. On older diesels that have mechanical pumps, that is more common to see, a hot no-start from an Injection Pump. Do you have a favorite Diesel?
I absolutely hate the design of V8 diesels in these trucks, it'd simplify plumbing soooooooo God damn much if they switched which side of the engine intake and exhaust is on, that way exhaust is in the valley, it feeds right up to the turbo, the turbo sends boost to the intercooler via a center-top inlet, and the intercooler discharges to intakes on the outside of the head
If it was a straight 6 so you could rebuilt the bottom and top end without removing the engine. With no tech. These idiots failed engineering and just tie all the tires together and route them around and then when theres a short its more like 40 and its a rats nest. It doesnt have to be that hard man. With all the sheep buying teslas why do we have to have so much emissions when the algae farm i want to start sucks the emissions clean right out of the air? To bad it costs too much to do that because the vehivle quality is trash and the cost of everything too high

Have you ever dealt with a no crank no start? My truck doesn't crank but starts if the started is jumped, already checked the clutch fan and also replaced the neutral safety switch and still no luck.
Check all the fuses with a voltmeter. Check the starter wire plug under the hood. I've had a few no crank, no scanner communication, that were the fuse box, usually due to messed up trailer wiring melting the inside.
@Norse Viking Æsir yes the clutch fan, the fact that you're making fun of me tells me that you have no clue as how this trucks work but let me educate you. The clutch fan shares some wires with the sensors in the transmission, so when the clutch fan goes out it causes the voltage to drop drastically and in return the sensors in the transmission start acting up. Since voltage is shared between the two unrelated parts. It's a bit more complex than that but that's the summary of it, so that you can understand it.
@stephensellers2453, I don't believe it is. It matched up properly, no cut marks, all well rounded cast looking part. Maybe it was a design ment for the International Trucks, or other aplications we may not know about. Believe I read somewhere, that it was an early attemp at helping the Turbo Drone noise they were making with those early style Turbos.
@P Z, Technically they came out in 2003, and some 2002's had them too, transitional year. You know, vehicles built for a sale year, actually start in the middle of prior sales year. Im sure as you know, 6.0 has cutoffs, 03-04.5 and then 04.5-09 those are the 2 generations. And before you blow a gasket, E series diesel vans still have 6.0's to 09.. But who is counting. It sounds like you have been working on them since 2004, that's awesome. And my reference was more of I have been working on modern Diesel's for 20 years, matter of fact, since 1999. But again, who is counting... So if anybody is wrong, it's the both of us. Your 04, is wrong, my 02 is wrong. So we can meet in the middle and make it official 03... That 6.0 SUC'S ! The 7.3 was a much better power plant that lasted way longer & had way more power ! If U put that 6.0 under stress for long periods of time U ' ll see what I mean & the turbo's have problems !! 😡

Hot no start problem is bad onion rings on the mayo squirters. It will start up cold, but will not run hot. Too much cholesterol.

If it's not an 03 then they put an 03 turbo in it. They have a more pronounced whistle, less turbine blades.

EGR problem? I had one with a bad EGR valve with all those symptoms
