I haven't used RS Logix 500 in years but I thought you could go online with it to see if your ladder logic is functioning without needing any actual hardware. If so, how do you do that? Basically, I want to see the contacts on the rung turn green so I know they're actually working properly.

When you go online with a running Micrologix does it cause the process to stop running on the PLC while uploading or connecting to the PLC?
No, when you go online or upload a program from a PLC, the PLC continues to run as normal.
