HELLDIVERS™ 2 is a 3rd person squad-based shooter that sees the elite forces of the Helldivers battling to win an intergalactic struggle to rid the galaxy of the rising alien threats. From a 3rd person perspective, players use a variety of weapons (pistols, machine guns, flamethrowers) and stratagems (turrets, airstrikes, etc.) to shoot and kill the alien threats. Players can also aim down the sights for a more accurate 1st person camera view. Combat is accompanied by frequent sprays of blood and dismemberment as players exterminate the alien forces or players and squad mates are hit by environmental explosions or friendly fire. Enemy encampments and battlefield environments depict bloodstains and dismembered corpses.

For a game that sold 12 million copies that's a pretty weak number. Maybe they should have focused on undoing their nonsense "balances" sooner? The attention span of the modern human is already abysmal and their target audience certainly isn't my generation. I've been in their AssHat Discord and it's all furries and other degens and if you negatively react to their drama/nonsense/posts you get banned. May as well make it Furrydivers and swap helmets for animal heads. AH and Sony can EAD...only AH would probably enjoy it after reading their Discord chat.
I would love to! I’m one of the unlucky ones who’s been crashing since launch. Sometimes I can get through a match, but never 2 in a row.

The way I see it, “Old/New Threats” could mean one of three things:
1. Illuminate
2. Cyborgs
3. Hive Lords
Highly doubt it’s 3 mainly because there’s no alive model for it as of now. (I think.)
Honestly when they introduce the illuminate i hope they just show up as small recon squads on bug and bot missions and after a while whe get them in full force

I've been here since the beginning. 300+ hrs this update is what I've been waiting for. These guys are only gonna get better at their jobs from here .
hehe buffing unused stratagems seams like a no brainer and not what HD2 needs atm, they need to buff all they shit they nerfed like rail gun and arc thrower and let players have awesome fun again. for each nerf they make there game just a tad more lame, keep nerfing what players like to use.. players will find fun else ware.

@@Sptfire-6874 In Helldivers 1, after receiving enough damage from an attack, you land on the floor and might need some help getting picked up. If a dog was the one that dropped you down, they keep biting while you're on the floor.
So yes, they're way worse than souls dogs, Capra Demon notwithstanding.

I keep my expectations neutral so I can't be disappointed.
It was already confirmed by the devs . The game master himself and the ceo of AH that illuminate will be coming within this month . They didn’t mention if it will be tomorrow or at the end of the month but it’s coming . A document was also signed and dated stating such facts
I doubt the illuminate will come already. Soonish tho… maybe a few months?

I wish you could call in any support weapon/equipment or armor at any time while down in the planet. I might bring a grenade launcher but once I get down there and see what’s what I can switch to a AMR or a auto cannon etc

i would be just as excited for the introduction of the cyborgs as i would be for the illuminate arrival. the illuminate will provide far more variery overall, but the cyborgs joining the bots could really amp up the carnage and chaos on the western front

@givenchymamajama3859 hope you're right. we need a bigger prep and intro to the illuminate. also, we've all seen how cyberstan has changed on the map and know the automatons have freed the cyborgs from the labor mines. they are both an old threat and will also be a new threat. I think you're right and would kinda be disappointed if it wasn't the cyborgs. it's the right time for them, the wrong time for the illuminate.

I'm really hoping they buff the arc thrower massively since nobody uses it after they Nerfed it into Oblivion or at the very least they revert it back to how it was day one so that everyone loves it again cuz at the present because of its reduced range it can't deal with gunships so no one brings it because you have no defense against them.

I think the kids might give the SEAF troopers stratagem. At least it might further a chain to unlock that. The kids could be used to justify SEAF troopers as Helldivers saving enough kids to keep the population stable, inspiring parents, ensuring a work force while the parents go fight, child soldiers, etc.

FINALLY!
As of right now, and voiced this on X, I am not hyped at the moment. I started only about a month ago, and having played around with the weapons as I've unlocked them to include stratagems I have to say who ever did the balancing before really messed up big time. Too many weapons have a kick, but no bite to back up having that kind of kick. If a HMG has monstrous kick, why does it still have the same penetration? Shouldn't it be higher to offset how bad the accuracy is due to the kick? How is it that many of our weapons that have long cool down/charge or single use still take two or more shots even on 'weak spots'?
Just feels like a lot of guns were balanced by an excel spread sheet without any real practical use scenario testing to see if it really lined up. Given that took place numerous times, even if they are saying they are trying to fix it, I'm not very convinced. Even more so when I compare a lot of things we have in HD2 that HD1 also had and were far superior in HD1 compared to HD2 where it is supposed to be more advanced. Just feels like for a planet that already had one galactic war, they sure didn't learn much and made things weaker instead of similar or stronger/more efficient.
I'll let the patch speak for itself, but I'm not holding my breath.
Edit: Just saw the patch notes, and while some of the things I'm looking forward to, there is still a lot that I'm not all that impressed with still. Guess I'll re-evaluate after I play around with some of the things they changed. At least the accuracy of certain bots got addressed (IE angle of shots tightened so they have to more accurately face/aim to hit) and addressed some higher armor rating for certain bots.

Oh my lord I was getting so tilted at the footage at the SAM site. Was you trying to see if they could destroy the thing? Cause I can forgive wanting to see it happen but the running to the terminal and then instantly pulling away without activating it that many times was infuriating.
Also new/old threat could mean the return of some of the missing enemy types from the first game, maybe even the bosses but I know we all want the squids.

Nah, the player base as it was in the first month of the games release is over. You will never EVER see 300k+ player base again. Even if this update undoes all the bad from the past 3 months, I doubt we'll ever go past 170-180k player base. I think the new update will bring about 120-150k players, and then a few days later, it'll go down to a steady 70-80k if not the usual 30k-50k as it is now.
Crazy to think game at its highest peak had over half a million players playing but now at its lowest it's only 30k 😂😂😂 how can u fuck up so bad.
