As a huge fan, it doesn’t have to be only trains. It’s you and the adventures you take us on, that we love. Can’t wait for more fun!!!
Indeed. I'd watch any adventure. If there are trains included it's a nice bonus, but certainly not a requirement!
That’s exactly it. It’s such a pleasure to be taken along for an adventure and watching everyone have such a great time along the way.
I concur I became a fan and subscriber over a year ago watching the 12 hours on a tugboat video which I really enjoyed. Day in the life of something totally cool that most of us will never experience.
It’s your storytelling that makes your channel what it is. We don’t care where you go and how you get there, take us with you, show us around, and tell us your story. Oh and bring your dad again! 💜 happy 7 years
totally agree on that!
Hi Michael- Clyde and Lois from Stawell Australia. Just got home from a month in Canada riding trains from Vancouver to Halifax. All inspired by you and your videos. We had perfect weather the whole time! Most impressed with the Canadian train and would ride it from Vancouver instead of Rocky Mountaineer if we do a similar trip. We also started using Tru Earth products a while back and haven’t looked back. Your are a CZcams influencer, but one of the good ones with a motivation that is a lot more honest and not just flogging any product that is thrown at them. Your sincerity is a key part of your channel. We did Victoria Island but after watching your flight I decided I couldn’t fit in the seat comfortably o we took the ferry and a bus tour. The guide/driver was learning opera singing so we even got an aria or two. You Canadians have a bit of Australian quirkiness in you which we loved. Thank you for inspiring us to visit your beautiful country for a truly memorable “Bucket List” holiday. Tempt us with some more trains - 👫
Don’t think you have to conform to just trains. Film what you want to film, and tell those stories and the true fans will support it through and through 👍🏼
I hope you continue to grow on CZcams and we all love you
Thanks so much for joining forces with Wirth hats. The importance of getting the help you need can’t be overstated. We don’t walk around with a broken arm or leg without medical attention, but so many people walk around with broken hearts and hurting minds with no help in sight. This mom thanks you from the bottom of her heart for caring! May lives be saved and hope offered by what you are doing.
Congratulations Mike! Hats, beers, planes, trains, automobiles, ferries, boats, barges, bikes! I will follow you wherever you go. Here’s to seven more!?! Cheers 🍻
Congratulations Mike! Excellent choice in supporting mental health! Thanks to Ben too!
I 100% agree, it is overlooked by so many.
I truly feel that you've been a member of our household for the better part of 5+ years. Regardless of the content, your way of filmmaking and storytelling is what keeps me looking forward to what you bring week after week, in addition to the gorgeous landscapes that inspire me to want to travel more. I'm so glad to have seen this channel grow, as it will continue to grow even more as time passes. Congrats on everything you have achieved and you know..we don't know where you're going next, but we're all glad to be with you. Cheers from AZ!! ❤
The Travels by Train Canada series was is my favorite production you’ve made up to this point. The narrowboating series comes close. I think most of us get that the trains are just the vehicle (pun intended) of the story you’re telling, and not always the story itself. So whatever the vehicle is - a train, a boat, a quad tandem bike, a horse, tuktuk, or what have you - we’re happy to be along for the ride. ❤
So glad it isn’t a farewell - just a busy time for you. I Absolutely love your content. Once life calms down for me, my goal is a cross-country train trip for sure!
Your F1 videos prove you don't need to do only train content. I love the Canadian vibes - reminds me of the Rick Mercer show from 10+ years ago and this fills that gap for me.
CONGRATULATIONS Mike well deserved my friend and PLEASE don't forget New Zealand and bring the misses next time you're in Australia much love and respect from New Zealand
If you'd have posted a day earlier (or even a few hours), I'd have had time to get across the border and come join you at the brewery! Good luck with all the projects!
Just reiterating what other people have said: Your storytelling and personality is what we’re subscribing to, Michael. The train and travel videos are awesome but even during the peak of COVID when you had to stay in Vancouver and Canada, you still told tons of great stories on a variety of different things. As long as DownieLive posts videos, I’ll be watching - no matter the subject or theme.
It’s so fun to watch this from our home in BC after watching from California and dreaming of BC! :)
Love love love your channel. I also love “transportainnent”. Did you make that up? It’s genius 😎
Transportainment is absolutely a genre and now has a name! Congrats on 750!
Great update! I think opening up the channel to multiple forms of travel is a good thing for everyone.: more variety, different experiences rather than a train trip every time. Besides, you've been gradually introducing boats, planes, etc. Looking forward to what's ahead.
I love how you slipped in the "Presented by ..." at the end. Well done, mate!
Congrats on the 750k!!! What an amazing journey for you!! That's about quadruple the amount when I started watching!! 😎
Good to hear from you. I've always liked your videos. Thanks for the support for mental health. ❤
Let's continue to GO! More hats, bikes, balloons, boats, funiculars, trains, trains and trains, EVERYONE!!
It doesnt matter if its trains or not, any of your videos brighten the spirits of my whole family and we look forward to them. I must say thank you though, because thanks to your videos this past summer I rode the Via Rail Canadian to Toronto and back to Vancouver, what an amazing experience and one of my bucket list items.
I don't know where you're going next, but I hope you take us there with you 😁
Thanks for helping me plan one of the best trips of my life! I don’t go on trips very often and I really enjoy your content as inspiration and entertainment. And you upload plenty don’t worry so much!
Wow. Congratulations on 7 yrs of creating really interesting and entertaining content. I've enjoyed all your series and the effort it takes to make it happen and post. I'm looking forward to this new series. You're bringing this sport to peoples' attention. BTW I love the tie in with WIRTH CAPS AND HATS and support for mental health treatment. Excellent.
Congratulations, your Utube videos are amazing. Thank you for sharing them all
Super cool!! Congrats on the beer and good luck with the release!
Congrats on the 7th birthday, and I hope your beer day goes well. I don't write often, but will always enjoy your videos. Transportainment is a great word 😃
I honestly can't wait! I just finished watching Kara and Nate bike across the US on a trandom bike and this feel like the next level!
So cool and very happy for you. Can't wait to watch the race.
We appreciate your transparency!!
It doesn't matter where you go. All we know is, we want to be there too!
I follow you anyway! Your happiness and adventure inspire me! Keep moving forward baby!!!!!
Totally enjoy your videos, well presented.
Kaipara, New Zealand.
Your my first youtube account that I subscribed and you didn’t disappoint even once. Keep on doing what you do and as a fellow Canadian, thank you for making us proud❤️🇨🇦
Here since the beginning, keep doing what you love, here or not...that is the entire point of living.
I've been missing you. It's good to hear you've been busy preparing new armchair adventures for us.
I keep seeing videos of you!!! Love this channel!!!
Woohoo! Updates are awesome! Wish I could be in Port Moody, but that’ll have to wait till next June. ( it’s a long way from here ) New hats! Will get one sent. Can’t wait to see the quads series, going to be great. Keep up the amazing work!!
I always looked forward to watching a new video from you on Saturday mornings so I’m excited to know you’ll be back each week through December. While I might not ordinarily watch cycling videos, I’ll watch because I trust the quality of your work. I feel like I travel vicariously through your videos and now I have the chance to be involved in cycling vicariously…which I can assure you, at nearly 70, I will never do in my real life! Ha! But I’m up for the adventure every Saturday. Congrats on your channel’s anniversary and 750k subscribers. I don’t know if I’ve been here from the beginning, but I think I was close.
Congrats! You deserve it Man!!!!!
Great that you are supporting mental health. It’s so important. I have missed seeing you on a regular basis. Glad to have Saturdays to look forward to!
Congrats on your 750 k ! Here’s to the next 250k !🍻🍁🤙
You inspired me to take the Amtrack from Denver to Glenwood Springs last Christmas and it was an epic trip. I can't wait to see what's in store on your channel. And I'm glad you're taking care of yourself because there is a lot of burnout among CZcamsrs. Thanks, Mike. You're making a difference - a good one.
I found your channel during the pandemic lockdowns. Thank you for giving me so many positive adventures to get me through that lonely time. It also renewed my childhood love of trains. I look forward to following along on your future adventures
How wonderful to see this video Mike!!! Congratulations on hitting the 750k subscribers.
I am thrilled to see that new content is coming soon. It is also wonderful to be a witness to seeing your dreams come to fruition.
Bravo!!!
I haven't been a fan for very long, but enjoy your travels immensely! But, especially I enjoy your enthusiasm and your grace during your travels. I'm a mom, I get to worry. Stay with us!
We started watching you as our 6 year old found your train videos. Now you’re like daily viewing in our household.
Thank you for making content that’s family friendly. We’re from Australia so looking forward to seeing you there!
Man, I've been following this channel since the Empire Builder trip. It's so crazy to see how far it's come. Congrats on everything, can't wait to see what's next.
I have been here since day one...I absolutely love your channel and your family and everything you do....I am not going anywhere...I know you dont know where you are going next...but you can bet I will be there with you.....ALWAYS!!! Thank you for 7 years!!
Congrats on seven years. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us. Good luck in your continuing journey. We'll see you on Saturday.
I love your channel and will always watch what you put out! It’s always interesting!! And Transportaning!!! ❤😊
Michael, I've been watching your videos for like 3 years or so, it's been a privilege watching your content and you grow. You allow me to vicariously live through your adventures which brings that bit of happiness :) I'll always tune in when I get that notification. Here's to 7 years and the next 7 years to come! ;D
Great luck on your new project !!!
I started following during early COVID, when trains were not in your content. I didn't even know that was a focus of your content until COVID eased and you started posting a lot more train content. I find trains only somewhat interesting, but I enjoy your content most when it's more broadly "journeys" or "adventures" such as your narrow-boat series, and also content about how stuff works (your Vancouver tugboat video, skytrain video, and how cranberries are farmed). If you did another 'how stuff works' type of video, would be cool if you spent time with high-rise window cleaners - always seemed like a cool/crazy job!
I love your channel ❤️ great channel
Happy 7th Anniversary! I had no idea you were around that long! I can't wait to see all the cool stuff you're going to do!
Hi im a new subscriber, I think I've only seen a few videos. I didn't know you have been going for so long!
Congratulations on having your own beer made and it's great that you're supporting mental health!
I love your train journeys,I think that's how I found you but I've never watched quad tandem bike racing before so I'm looking forward to that!
Also congrats on your subscriptions!🎉
Congrats on all of your years of videos. I haven't been with you the whole time. I found your videos during "the year that never was" (COVID-19's 2020). One reason I like watching your videos is the fact that you are so energetic and happy while you do these adventures. It just makes a person feel good while "traveling" with you all around the world. Keep up the good work.
don't leave you've been gaining more views this year than any other year
I didn't "know" this channel being some what about trainspotting, I was just enjoying your personality, your friends and all amazing adventures you narrated and showed me. and I cannot wait to see more.
I've always thought of your channel as "alternative transportation" content. Anything except a car, unless that's the only way you can reach a destination. I'm so excited to see the quad 🚲 content! And I'm so bummed I can't partake of that delicious beer for a cause. 🍻 A Canadian Colada just sounds delightful.🥥
Mike, you're Awesome! Thanks, for taking us along, on many ventures.
I am in for the ride Mike, all of it! Congrats on all your success and keep it up!!
Hyped for the Royal Canadian Navy video
Godspeed DownieLive
Congrats on 750K subs, that is awesome 🎉
Happy anniversary and congratulations on 750k! I really enjoyed the original quad tandem series and that had fewer teams and probably lower production values... So I'm stoked!
used to hate on the tandem bike stuff, didnt know it was OG to the channel and want to apologize. Love ya mike, keep posting!!!
We found your channel thanks to Chek tv airing your Travels By Train Across Canada series and have since watched it a few times with friends and recommend your you tube channel to many more who are not local. Kept "tuning in" to watch your adventures in your home city and the province so we don't expect you to have only train content all the time but we do love that content as well. Congratulations on the 7 years and the hope for many more. Well done to Ben and yourself for supporting mental health issues. 👏👏👏
So looking forward to the new series.
Sounds weird, but I adored the longboats!
Congrats on the launch of your new beer line and hats. Sending hugs and high fives.
Awesome! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏well done!
Awesome work man, keep it up! Love it all! ❤🎉
Great stuff man! I appreciate all you’ve done to promote railroading and support your expansion into other modes of transportainmemt 🎉😮
Good to see you Downie!
Congrats Mike on 7 years and 750K! I watch because of your adventures and story telling. I know you don’t know where you’re going next but I will follow! Keep going forward! 😀
Thanks so much for all your videos love watching and it lifts my spirits to join you on your adventures. Really enjoyed your Mum and Dad joining you on some of your trips. Thank you 😊
Yay! I am looking forward to all your new adventures! ☺️ And I am so proud of all your new endeavours and partnerships! When you said that the covid period was hard for you even though you are such a positive person, I really felt that. It was the same for me. I am very extrovert, positive, smile a lot and generally people would describe me as a ray of sunshine! Never depressed before and I worked at a hotel as a receptionist which I loved. But then everything had to close down and I was furloughed and I got more and more «sad» and I just could not understand why. Turns out, I just felt really lonely even though I regularly kept in touch with family and friends digitally. I found I just did not thrive without real face to face physical interaction with other people 🤷♀️
Can't believe it's been 7 years. Been with ya since 10,000ish and you were my first person to subscribe to. Didn't know what that meant but you got me going and now I only watch youtube channels. Still love your saying which is kinda what got me liking ya. Great job on growing the channel and glad you stepped away from your jobs years ago to make a go at this. Been loving ever since. Can't wait for the quad series. Thank you for taking us along, wherever you go.
Amazing, you are so inspiring. You are doing exactly what i wanna in a few a years. Thanks!
7 years is crazy, congrats man
1:25 so much to celebrate and be thankful for! Happy Thanksgiving weekend to you and yours!
I watch you for the overwhelming positivity more than anything. You're channel is great
Keep up the amazing work I love your posts and how you work to help people in needs
I hope that you dont go! we all love your videos!
"where have you been"? bro you released a video like a week ago, we're not exactly filing missing persons reports here lol
also, congrats!
Don’t be sad I love your videos Mike! They make me very happy!
Excellent. Looking well Downie 🇦🇺
All there these projects are intriguing! I especially like the hat and bear project that’s a fundraiser for consoling therapy.
I may have first come across your channel from the train content, but I respect and support your decision over whatever you decide. I like your other non-train content as much as the train content itself. Regardless what content it is, I find it all intriguing and captivating.
I'm so excited to see this! Looks like a great series!
The Quads were some of the first videos of yours I have watched, and I will definitely be watching the new series. During Covid I watched everything you put out, but as life has transitioned into the "new normal," time has not been in abundance.
However, of all the channels I am subscribed to, you and your channel blend the most information with heart and purpose. I would say don't ever lose that, but I know you never will. Thank you for all you do, Mike. You are a blessing to this world. Doing what you can to make it a better place. Much Love
Love your program!!!!
The way you poured the beer looked right to me. When there is foam on the top it takes longer for the beer to get flat.
Seven years; wow Mike! I’ve been here awhile now and no matter what you jump into, it’s must see for me. Wherever you’re going, we want to go along. Congrats!
Keep up the content Michael! Always waiting to see where you'll be next.
I love following your adventures, be it planes, trains, automobiles (or bikes, or boats, lol)! Keep doing what you're doing. You are fun and inspiring. Congrats on the new brew - watching this as you're celebrating in PoMo. So happy that you support mental health, and sharing about your bout with depression... most people will experience depression/mental illness at least once in their lifetime.
I just enjoy watching. My son is now on a train on his way home from spending time with his hids in New York snd Georga. Hes heading home to Washinhton state. 🤗🤗👍💚
