Fun fact: The 3rd season was kept secret until the first episode was released on april 1st. And about 5 minutes (I think) before releasing, Dan Harmon (the shows co-creator) retweeted a fan, asking where is season 3, saying "what if I waved a magic wand and made the first episode of season 3 premiere tonight?" when the fan said that that was what he wanted, Harmon replied "Happy now mother FUCKA" and the first episode dropped.

When the therapist was talking to Rick, she was basically saying that he's definitely a genius and she can see why he wouldn't like something like therapy. She compared him going to therapy to her brushing her teeth because both are just mundane tasks for the two of them. But Rick would rather turn himself into a pickle, lie to his daughter, and have a near death experience as opposed to having a family therapy session. That's why she said that some "people" (Rick) would rather die than subject themselves to something that's so mundane that they don't deem it worthy of their time or attention while also calling out how he leverages Beth's image of him to be able to get away with things like turning himself into a pickle to get out of a family therapy because to him, it's one of those mundane tasks as mentioned earlier.
Basically she exposed him.

The first and the third episode has always been iconic of season 3. The first one is for being a April Fools episode that cause a riot at McD....Pickle Rick however is iconic him being himself.( i think a painting of him are still hanging on the public display at my Community Collage...)
Nah, I get Jerry, Rick made it obvious how much he disliked him, ridiculed him a lot, put his children as well as Beth and him in danger and he just showed up one day after having left for years. Beth has an unhealthy relationship with Rick due to her abandonment issues, she doesn't set boundaries and rarely has Jerry's back.. In my opinion, Jerry is the most normal and mentally healthy member of the family.
I agree with all of that other than Jerry being the most mentally healthy member. I’m in S4 now and I feel like it might be summer lol

It's a great scene; one of my favourites in the show, although I don't think it's best practice for therapy.
The laser-accurate diagnosis of Beth and Rick's pathologies is proof that she knows what she's doing but I'm fairly certain that you're taught not to engage in this sort of "battle of wits" with a patient.
Seeing straight through them and stating it plainly (particularly for egomaniacs like Rick and Beth) is likely to just cause them to feel ashamed and make it more difficult to build a rapport in the future. They may not even come back. We all know they're the types to avoid taking any of her advice because that would mean she was right.
Maaaaaybe they might feel the need to come back to prove some kind of point about how smart they are or that Dr Wong couldn't just read them like an open book but it's not the best idea to bet on that
@@Cyrinil142 no I 100% agree but I know there are therapists like this so I felt it was accurate. I for one hate that aspect of what she did, it feels less like therapy and more like a writer talking about their character

There are indeed a lot of people who struggle with day to day life management because it lacks stimulation. The lack of stimulation drives em crazy cause nothings fun, nothing feels good, nothing engages and you have to do it over and over again like pushing a stone up a hill! So hygiene, self care, social management, it all falls to the side for the sake of EXCITEMENT, whether it’s good (praise, affection, personal success) or bad (drama or putting yourself in danger). In fact without stimulation they can become depressed and restless, so sometimes it seems worth the destruction of your personal life if you can just feel *good* for a second.

Yeah. Most people have a very "twisted" cognitive capacity, and then they take sides, they can't see everyone's side and analyze everything logically. Unfortunately, average people are like that. I am with Rick. I don’t respect therapy too.
I can see Jerry's point of view but it's hard to solely root for him given how spineless he is. And he only tries to put his foot down when he truly feels he's about to lose his family to Rick. He doesn’t get to wait until the breaking point. By then it's too late.
Beth is also to blame, being so aloof about how her father affects her family and her on and off taking Jerry's side is tiresome.
They're all crappy people really.

Imo S3 is way worse than S1 and 2, these episodes too.
Not gonna spoil, but I hate how this was basically where the show starts to get bad, and how later seasons ruin not only the show going on, but also ruining already established things in the show.
It gets better again in S6 imo
@@Pablo.673You are right. There were more good episodes in S6, but the ending was horrible. The episode Analyse Piss gave Rick immense character development, and the Sun People episode made it seem like Rick had actually changed for the better, but then the last episode completely washed all of that away for no reason. It's almost as if the writers of the show have a complete aversion to improving, or even changing, the characters in favor of keeping them the exact same way, which only makes everything worse.

worst thing is they don't even have to change Rick, he can still be a confident, genius asshole, just with a more apparent soft spot for Morty. people love the "hates everyone except for one person" trope, so i don't see an issue :(
Personally I loved seasons 1-3, but seasons 4 and 5 were mid. I didn’t care for the beginning of season 6, but it got much better.
