    I love the C-130. My father flew one during the Viet Nam war, and he always told me it was his favorite plane after having 1000's of hours in B47's and B 52's.
    Thanks for sharing. Felix

      Felix, thanks for watching! I would believe it.
      It's a great plane. Responds instantly and flies on rails when trimmed up. No dutch roll issues like the swept wing 47, 52 and 135. As long as you dont mind flying hundreds of knots slower!

    Riding in C-130s of late (J models) I am curious why y’all put the engines in low idle before you park the plane as opposed to coming to a stop and then going to low idle before engine shutdown?
    Excellent video!!

    • @ReachAviation
      @ReachAviation  Před 2 lety +5

      Going into low speed for a few minutes allows them to cool before shut down reducing wear. It also reduces thrust and makes it easier to taxi without putting wear on the brakes or constantly having two in reverse.

    Great content, thanks for posting! Just noticed no flight suit wear? Is that pretty standard uniform for flight?

    • @ReachAviation
      @ReachAviation  Před 2 lety +2

      We are all in flight suits still but the new two piece Army Aircrew Combat Uniforms. Still the flight suit pattern, just cut at the waist. Works well when its hot/cold and youre pushing cargo. Overall a better uniform for utility use in my opinion. Not everyone agrees and the green single piece is still worn by a lot of people.
