Yes, but still at 1%. The top 5 grows stronger at the expense of the other entries.
The top five all have their weaknesses. Croatia has creepy staging and he sings out of key and out of tune, his intonation is so bad it’s hard to understand what language he is singing in so no serious jury could justify giving it points. Switzerland have a good song and singer but it doesn’t come together on stage and there is something off putting about it. Italy is good but they have an appalling record of doing badly when they send female singers but I think they do have a good chance of getting jury/televotes. Ukraine is top notch, Jerry heil is fantastic however alyona and the rap is distracting and brings the song down. Netherlands I would be happy if they won but they may have competition from Finland, Croatia and Estonia which will knock down their score.
Really hard to predict who will win this year as it’s completely open. I think the staging over all is pretty poor this year and my predicted top five are:-
1, United Kingdom.
Excellent early staging, decent song and he has a huge European fan base and the juries will also appreciate the multi layered song.
2, Ukraine.
Jerry hell is the heart of this song and the staging is impressive. The two u’s will be top again as they were two years ago but this time swap positions.
3, Switzerland.
Will do well with both juries and televote but won’t win either, it lacks that final winner punch. But Switzerland are getting closer to winning again after a long time.
4, croatia.
Huge flop with the juries but likely placed top with televotes by a good margin.
5, eire/Ireland.
Not my kind of music, but Bambi thug has excellent vocals and the staging is top notch. Ireland have gone with a huge risk this year.
Can also see a few suprises in the semi finals with the likes of Serbia and Estonia failing to progress and Iceland and Denmark doing pretty well despite being among the bottom ranked.
The UK is the only song that has the best vocal, and now the best staging. No crazy madness or cheesey gimics. It's my absolute favourite and will win. I'll be voting UK 🇬🇧 olly is out of this world
