Don't you think it's a bit strange that one singer so popular as Olly Alexander did not get any votes? People know who he is and although I am not a part of LGBTQ, I find it hard to belive that nobody voted for him. I am a fan of Olly's music. We all know who he is, he is extremely popular. So this is absolutely impossible. All Croatians know who he is, we enjoy all his songs also. So does the world. Eurosong is setup. Shame. It’s a singing contest and he couldn’t sing in tune. I’m surprised the judges gave him votes tbh.
I agree. It is impossible not a single point from audience was given to him, and that gay people voted for nemo instead.
To earn points, he needed to be placed in the Top 10 of any of the 37 countries competing. The highest he placed apparently was 14th
Am I impressed by the performance? - Yes.
Do I think there's a disharmony between the dreamy music and lyrics and a bit agressive dances and the colors of the perfomance? - Hell yes.

Apart of disharmony, the performance seems artificial, because the dancers are overacting imho, but the tune is pretty catchy

UK has had some pretty amazing staging (2017 and 2022) but this is their best so far!

I think the bridge is when he started losing his breath. Missed his cue to sing the chorus.

This is expensive, this is design, this is like a VMAs performance you can tell Olly has an experienced artistic team. Brilliant, never seen before in Eurovision
All style no substance. His vocals were all over the place.
Weakest vocals of the night. It was attempting to shock but ended up pretty boring. The last 30 seconds were ok, but the song is just average anyway.
The thing is, it might look ok to the TV viewers but for those in the audience it won't look anywhere near as great as a lot of the effect is camera angles
@@Glesga_lassiethe point is a bit mute when unless you’re probably within the first 20 rows of the stage every performer looks like a pea anyway and they have to watch the screens despite being in the audience. Baring in mind that it’s streamed live around the world and Malmo arena seats 15,500 people it’s safe to say that a hell of a lot more people are viewing it on tv than in person

I do like the radio-version; glad you liked it like this, but to me it sounded like an afterthought.
The staging, camera work and dancers are really top notch. Vocals much better than expected after reading the comments. Good job.
There was a REAL audio problem on the live performance on TV, for most of the first half performances. I felt sorry for the artists. ESC were getting lots of complaints on their FB page about it. Background tracking was drowning out the singing.

The fact Ollys mic pack feel off half way through the performance but he carried on like nothing happened. A professional. I didn’t notice until the end on the run through and then rewatching it

He did show professionalism there, true. But, I just don't feel this covers for what is quite a weak entry. Showmanship is great, it's just not enough by itself.

Can someone explain me how the staging works? Cuz ik it’s mostly camera work but still, he’s on the “ceiling” while one of the dancers is just on the floor and my brain cannot handle that.
He is hanging with hist arms while being upside down. Suporting feet on ceiling just for balance. Yeah, its really fucking hard.

More than fine vocals? I must have heard a completely different performance. He was breathless for most of the song, and by the end of it he could hardly breathe, let alone sing. Terrible vocal control. I don't see why you even mentioned Finland, it was leagues better than this in terms of vocal performance

Agree!! When it first got released a couple of months ago I fell inlove with the song for a day, yet felt like it was majorly underwritten and hastily made.
The song lacked length and big parts of the composition, ended abruptly like it was underwriten. The music video seemed also hastily made without proper concept.
Now, a couple of months after, both the song and the visuals have more meat to them.
Like they had time to develope it more properly.
The parts of the song they added do sound cool, yet still feel half-baked like they're in a wrong place.
Like someone said to them "hey where's the rest of the song?" And they added 5 random seconds to the bridge and to the end.
It's was shockingly bad, no matter what goggles you're wearing
