It may be a few hours before it processes in 4K or even in HD so my apologies but I hope everyone had an awesome Durin's Day!
Man, the fate of Balin, Oin and Ori is pretty gruesome, especially Oin getting consumed by the Watcher.
It's crazy to think three of the dwarves that knew gandalf so well were in Moria and gandalf didn't know he was looking at their bodies
I'm pretty sure he did
@@MiddleEarthLore he dint cry
â@@crow_g1639gandalf lost many precious friend. He is trying his best and moving forward
That was Nori holding the book in Balins tomb.
Thorin, Fili and Kili: Died in Battle of Five Armies (during the Hobbit)
Balin, Ori and Oin: Killed on separate occasions in the attempt to return Khazad-dum (Moria) to Dwarven rule.
Gloin: Attended the Council of Elrond with his son Gimli on behalf of King Dain.
Dori, Nori, Bifur and Bofur: All likely fought at the Battle of Dale in the War of the Ring. Fate(s); unknown.
Bombur: Grew so fat that he required six dwarves to carry him from bed to table. Couldn't fight.
Dwalin: The Last of Thorin's company to perish in the Year 91 of the Fourth Age.
Stupid deaths
You may want parts vital to the cohesiveness of the story (Funeral, coronation, clarification of Thranduil's motives) but you NEEDED 8 hours of Alfrid, cross-species romance and Bard's pointless children.
Oh absolutely, of course! How could be so blind? đ
Considering Tolkien himself had cross-species romances in the lore, such as Beren and Luthien, it's not completely out of place.
And honestly if the parts match up there is no way that people wont end up doing it
Maybe the movies weren't made for hardcore fans that want to see the great historical events but for the great public that care more about characters and their relationships...
@@77thNYSV ...and Tuor & Idril Celebrindal, daughter of King Turgon of Gondolin, and Aragorn & Arwen and another one in Dol Amroth. (I don't remember their names.)
@PapaHellmann Playin Games! - Very true! Hell, there are even half-orcs & goblin-men. I don't even want to think about how those happened!
OMG I didnât put it together that the dwarfs that died in the LOTR in moria were the same dwarfs that were with Bilbo in the hobbit
Omg right! Same!!
Gandalf and Legolas had encounterd those dwarves in the Hobbit. For Gandalf which he had a close relationship with the dwarves
Oin and Ori perished with Lord Balin. In Ori's hands the Fellowship found the hacked and scarred Book of Mazarbul.
In the LOTR Online video game, Dwalin leads those of Durin's Folk still resident in the Blue Mountains.
We know at least that Balin, Ori and Oin met the gruesome fate when they tried to reclaim and repopulate the kingdom of Moria. Balin got hit in the head thrown by the Goblin and succumbed to his wounds. Ori died from starvation (or was killed by Goblin) in Balin's stomb and Oin ended up eaten by the Watcher.
Fascinating! It hadn't occurred to me that Thror would have one of the original seven rings. Makes sense that he would be driven mad for greed, and later, Thrain would lose his mind.
The rings had no affect on the Dwarves.
@@DeadlyDanDaMan Not the effects that Sauron intended. The Dwarves were effected none the less though by an intense greed for riches and an extreme case of hording and jealousy.
@@allenmcclenithan9141 Dwarves were far more resilient then men and Sauron knew this which is why he gave 9 to great men. For guaranteed catches.
A separate movie showing the battle in Dale at the time of Sauron and Fodo would be great
And the battle where lothlorien and mirkwood owned dol guldur's forces (with galadriel herself demolished dol guldur itself with her magic).
I like this well researched and clearly explained piece. Thanks. I first read these books 50 years ago, and I still struggle to accept that they're not actual history.
And thank you for watching! It takes hours for me to make each video even though they're short because I research through hours of information and read several passages from several books to eventually deliver a video that is as concise and as simple as possible, so it's always nice to hear people are enjoying it. :)
I also read Mr. Tolkien's work over 50 years ago. They are history...of the heart. It is nice and gratifying to share thoughts and memories with others. I believe these works help humanity in a very positive manner. I appreciate the effort that has gone into these illuminating videos.
@@brianadams1907 Yes. I think what you say is absolutely true.
1:36 Dain had a part in this he gave everyone an equal share of the Erebor treasure and was known as a good and respected king, he was even friends with all three of Daleâs 2nd Line Of Kings (Bard,Bain,Brand) he was killed in the war of the ring along side the king of dale
All I can say is, thank you. Iâve always wondered what happened to the company of Thorib Oakenshield.
But wait, there is more. Bumbur kept in contact with Bilbo, even visiting several times for tea. Boffur also had communications with Bilbo, via series of letters they wrote to each other. Boffur's last letter to Bilbo told him that Bumbur had gotten so fat that it took several dwarves to carry him and his bed to the great hall for feasts.
I just watched the last Hobbit movie and had so many questions, why would they cut out so many important parts... Anyways thanks for clarification
Team Elbikins
Because they needed room for the shoehorned romance, and girl power propaganda.
@Hairlesshawg sorry but white Gandalf is stronger than the elf queen ,just saying
And possibly Tom bombadill
@Hairlesshawg You know nothing, and the truth refuses to be silent. So eat it.
It's also stated that Bomber is so fat now, it needs 6 young draves to lift him...
PFFT well at least he lived somewhat good
2:19 A reference to Lego lord of the rings! Oh man the childhood memories this brings man!
Moral of the story: when seeking to adapt a beloved book, inquire to fans extensively to avoid these very avoidable mistakes. Honestly reading these comments makes me want to see your versions! Lot of good points here.
I would love a mini series of this
Thank you so much for explaining this
Thanks for clearing this up!
Don't know why but i would love a movie about Moria!
you would already know it ends badly :)
I don't know man
Thank goodness u created this
The 'Dwarves of Erebor', Durin's Folk, prospered under the rule of Dain Ironfoot after the Battle of Five Armies. Dain led the majority of the Folk out of the Iron Hills and 'home' to Erebor and ruled as King Under The Mountain for many years, even working with Thranduil, Galadriel, and Celeborn to defeat Sauron's forces in Dol Guldur [their contribution to the War of the Ring]. After the end of the War of the Rings, King Dain sent to King Elessar a mighty gift in recognition of Gondor's valor and Elessar's personal heroism: city gates made all of /mithril/ to replace those shattered by the forces of Mordor in the War.
Gimli led a portion of the Folk [and Dwarves of other Kindreds in the Blue Mountains] to Aglarond, the caverns behind Helm's Deep, where they founded the workings called The Glittering Halls. A smaller portion of the Folk began the reclaimation of Khazad-dum in honor of Balin, but what conclusion that work came to is not recorded in the Red Book.
this guy just did the whole video for the youtuber

So many questions finally answered thank you my kind sir
Glad they were :)
Thanks this is a good video , was just wondering what happened with all of them
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!
ah, this, this brings a smile to my face
thanks, it was great !
Bombor got even fatter (if you can believe it) and slept a lot. Thor in was buried in the Lonely Mountain along with the arkinstone. Gimliâs dad accompanied him to Rivendell. As for the rest I donât know.
great video
Damn. Seeing the clips of gameplay footage gives me serious nostalgia. Wish theyâd make another game about these movies or a story surrounding side characters before or after the 6 films.
It sucks that after watching 3 movies with these amazing characters, I realized slowly that they were the dead bodies in Moria :(. That cut deep. What a shitty way to go trapped, no where to run or hide. A last stand outnumbered and stabbed to death.
It does make it a whole lot more sad, but at least they went out valiantly. And without them, the events of The Lord of the Rings would have played out much differently.
I have a theory, what if thrain had survived
In my opinion the "voices" are unnecessary...it would be better to do the reading with an echo effect for example..but the content is brilliant, keep it up!
i really love the hobbit and it kills me knowing that most of the company is dead in the lord of the rings!! itâs like they did the movie( book), created amazing characters and killed them all. and we know it but still love to see the hobbit knowing very well that in lord of the rings everything will be bad again bc of the orcs :((
atleast we still had legolas, elrond, thranduil and gandalf who are immortals.
@@musiclyricscentre1484 YeH but some die in the final :(( They go on the boat that means they are going to die plus bilbo AND Frodo :((
Bombur probably just sits somewhere eating
they should make a series about other perspective if the war of the ring
In the books, they stopped by the Shire and visited a lot after. Must be the good food.
Lol that voice is wicked!
I know that game. Still have it!!
I think the messenger was the Mouth of Sauron, not a Nazgul, as Gloin was clearly saying that it was a Man.
They mention that Dain becomes king in the theatrical cut don't they?
This serves two purposes. It reinforces my disdain for prequels, and it makes me wish that the overall story concerning the Ring was told in a well budgeted miniseries rather than being crammed into a few movies.
Wait for the series
@@whengrapespop5728 No thanks.
@@rickoshay5525 That doesnât make sense, you just said thatâs what you wanted.
@@whengrapespop5728 I'm hearing that a lot of fans are not liking what the .direction of the show is heading into, based on the news, rumors and leaks during production. Probably why OP is not enthusiastic about the show.
I hope you don't include Star Wars in your Prequel hatred
I just hate how they just eventually stagnate.. when they held the Lonely mountain against all of the easternlings.... During all of lotr.... They were literally the only ones that didn't ask for help and didn't receive any help during the LOTR
I only want the dwarves to prosper because they deserve it... They are the best fighters in the realm and have proven it every time they are the battlefield. During the battle of five armies they held longer then any elve ever has...
Bombur the dwarf (From the wiki)
Later years
In The Lord of the Rings, many years later while in Rivendell, Frodo Baggins learned from GlĂłin that Bombur had grown so fat it that it now took several Dwarves simply to lift him from his couch to the dinner table. It is unknown if Bombur fought in the Battle of Dale during the War of the Ring.
@ 2:45 It's Geddy Lee!
I only know Balins fate going in and I'm just not ready for hearing it again.
I always wonder why the eagles in the first movie didnât bring the dwarfs straight to erebor. It would have been like 4 hours of flying
Because the Eagles don't serve them. They are above the Dwarves in status and they work independently and have their own business to tend to. They don't speak in the movies, but in the book, they do. They only saved them as a favour for when Gandalf helped them prior to the events of the book. Plus they even mention they are afraid of entering areas where Men lived because they used to be shot down by them so they rather not risk their own lives.
@@MiddleEarthLore this, I did not know. Thank you
No problem
OK 1 deleted scene gets expanded and combined with Lord of the Rings basically merged everything meaning evil gets a massive surprise on both sides that's not all Tauriel played by Nicole Evangeline Lilly is also in MCU as Hope Van Dyne aka Wasp.
Dat dwarf voice tho
Those orcs we see in moria that killed our dwarfs from the hobbit. Where did they come from ?? Where they sent by sauron to occupy it ?
what game is it on 2:08?
I would have felt more satisfied with book version đ . I hated how twins died đ
Nice video bro! Video idea: What happened to Legolas and his father after The Hobbits? Why dont we see the king of elves in the LOTR Trilogy?
Edit: And what about Tauriel?
Thanks, I was actually about to get to that soon đđ»
@@MiddleEarthLore nice!!! Bro congrats btw, I've been here since start!! I remember you asking Dee or Nick Nimmin for advice đ„đđ„
I remember that too and thank you for sticking around ever since!
You never hear about legolas's father, but legolas and gimli eventually go to the undying lands, around 50 years after frodo and Bilbo. Sam goes over to undying lands too after his wife died but it's estimated to be roughly 75 years after frodo.
I just want to know was erebor still in the hands of dwarf folk after balin was killed in moria. how many dwarven factions remained after the return of the king? I hope Gimli wasnt the last of his kind.
2:08 what game is that?=
Middle-earth lore 03:16 says I can do pretty good impressions!
Sorry for the wrestling reference lol
I never read the books but I prefer what happened in the movies
Did Thrandril get his necklace back?
Does anyone know the identity of the dead dwarf perched on the edge of the well? The one Pippen accidentally knocked over?

These channels always do voices and I canât figure out for the life of me, why!?!?!
But what happened to Dwalin
He lived through the lord of the rings, and died at 340. He was 169 in the hobbit and the lord of the rings is 80 years after, so dwalin was 249 at erebor with Dain, brand and the remaining dwarves fighting. Dain and brand died at the end of the lotr, but dwalin lived 91 more years after this.
Excellent video... but don't uhhh... don't do that Thrain voice again.
The hobbit trilogy had so much protentional. The right director cast etc but ultimately a let down for me anyway. They cut so much out and added in so much rubbish.
In short: they all died
They all died because their women didn't want them anymore, pathetic insects!
Please. Never ever try those accents again.
I wuv da hobbit!!!
Dont do voices.
Nothing happened after the hobbit because itâs make believe and never happened
Bro you canât be serious
Couldâve done without the cringe voice work lol
Ur dwarf voice needs some work m8
Whatâs with the corny voices?
Ummm... work on that Scottish accent... it is a wee rough
my god the voice acting is super cringe
Please donât do a reading voice, your normal voice is nice
Yep, I've been seeing a lot of criticism about it. But thanks, at least there is a compliment here too.
dont add weird voices. it made me click off
