  • One of the most commonly asked-about modifications for the Can-Am Ryker is the sway bar and end links. Essentially, upgrading these items will give you a more stable ride. In today's video, I take you through the install of my new BRP sway bar and Baja Ron end links. I then take my Ryker for a spin and give you my first impressions. Worth it? Click to find out!

Glad it’s improved your ride and 👍 to your husband and dad. BRP should put these in at the factory as standard on a $10,000 + machine.

I just ended up cutting the sway bar to remove it and use the Baja Ron sway bar which is a straight bar. Way easier then doing all the work that you're doing to put the new bar in

Morgan, you were very lucky. I did a conversion to the entire Baja Ron sway bar, end links, and the sway bar arms. Since I was putting on the straight sway bar I just went ahead and cut the end of the stock sway bar off,and then pulled off both pieces and tossed them. Main Problem I had was getting the new bushings installed. In fact it took a roughly 15 min phone call to Baha Ron himself to help get those mounted. Was a project that took 4 days of intermittent work to accomplish, and I pride myself on being a fairly competent mechanic. It has definitely made a great handling improvement to my Rally. Enjoy it and ryde safe.

I wanted to do the BRP sway bar, but because of the deconstruction of the suspension involved I ended up going with the Baja Ron sway bar which was easier to install. It’s still some work. I do love how it feels, much more planted in the turns which is where I really notice it. Now I know what everyone is referring to about doing the end links and sway bar, it’s worth it.

Great informative video as always! I didn’t do sway bar (yet, lol) but the links made Al the difference in the world! The roads have crowns so you are either on one side or the other as you move across the road. The factory ones are nylon so that’s what gives you that squirrelly feel (that you end up getting used to) but that disappears with the new links. Ryde Safe!

Thanks for using lingo that makes sense to me- 'loosy goosy' handling is what I'm trying to negate by getting a sway bar fitted to my Ryker Rallye. Keep up the good work! Regards from West Berkshire in the UK

I installed the entire Baja Ron kit. You can cut the old sway bar off and put the new one on. If I had to do it all over again, I would just do end links. I first put on the SpyderExtras Billet Aluminum End Links and found that the Ryker was super strait and planted, but also hard to push and pull through turns. Then I put the entire Baja Ron kit in, which I felt was almost too loose after the Spyder Extras Billet Aluminum end links. I wish I would have put the Baja Ron End links only and compared apples to apples, the difference between the two end Links. I have lost all my audio too. Thanks Harry

Fantastic job! Thank you! I'm trying to convince my wife to do this upgrade to her Ryker. Like you said, one gets used to the stock handling!... I have also found this: at the very end of the steering column the rubber bushing is culprit for letting the two front weels move somewhat freely and not in sync, and dart where uneven pavement make them. Question: How come the bearing of the BAJARON link seems torn apart in the video (4:17) ? Is this unit broken or just poor quality? TY

in the visual side by side of the old sway bar vs new, other than color, I can't visually recognize that they are different. Are the materials different, perhaps the stiffness? I can spot differences in the end links. If there isn't a difference other than color in the sway bars, would just replacing the end links yield the same outcome?

One can certainly appreciate the hard work you guys put into the project but I’m wondering if just adding the metal end links could have helped with the old sway bar which looks exactly like the new sway bar but just a different color

Most videos I’ve seen regarding removal of the sway bar involve cutting it with a grinder to avoid having to deconstruct so much of the bike. You’d definitely have to have some nerve and a very steady hand to go that route.

Damm Moto has a video 33% stronger that breaks this job down well… I have two Ryker’s… I did both bikes in about four hours or so. You don’t need to take off all the parts that are shown in this video. The Baja Ron bar is a snap because it is straight. I did the BRP bars. One thing for sure, when Canam builds the Ryker, they install a squirrel in the suspension. And he runs around and makes things really Squirrley at high speed on the interstate. The sway bar and end links completely eliminate his activity. If you have a Ryker, you need the new sway bar. It amazes me that for the difference in cost, maybe 20 bucks, Can-Am does not install the better sway bar when manufacturing this bike. Have a great day.
