I Got SEVEN New American Girl Dolls!

- This summer SEVEN dolls quietly came into our home with no fanfare and I haven't introduced them yet, but here they are all in one video. Please give them a warm welcome to our collection!

Haha - Part of the challenge is that a lot of the dolls are co-owned because Grace and I went halves on them, so we would BOTH have to be on board with selling (there are a couple dolls that are all hers that I would be okay with parting with but that's not how it works lol). But mainly I failed at it because I created more space and felt okay changing my plan. No regrets - they're beautiful and there's plenty of space for them!
@mandymagnolia1966 it's not necessarily a policy, but it was a (foolish lol) goal I had at the beginning of this year ;-)
Wow! Scarlet and Gwen. I have always had a soft spot for Gwen. She is adorable. I love that you have Scarlet on her own. I do like the LE outfit she came in but the doll itself is beautiful. Nice additions. I hear you on the doll purchasing dilemma. The struggle is real. Lol😂
Thanks! A friend came over yesterday and she has the FAO doll so she brought her and her outfit. She let us put the outfit on ours to get some pictures, which was lovely. And of course we got pics of the two girlies together

Thanks - the doll she was inspired by has lighter lips because the woman who customized her removed some of her lip color and replaced it with a more subtle one. We'll see if we end up doing that down the line, but for now she's gorgeous as is.

These are all lovely additions to your collection! I especially love your Gwen. I've never been drawn to that doll, but boy, those lashes!! I wouldn't have wanted to sell her, either.

Great video. Those eyelashes really are long on Gwen!! Good comparison photo. It's nice to know I am not alone in acquiring more dolls than expected this year. I also put up two new shelves for them so I felt like I had some wiggle room to expand. Two more shelves are hopefully going up this afternoon too. muhahaha I may or may not have just purchased another doll today. o.O
Look...I've said it once, and I'll say it as often as I need to - If I have the space, If I'm under budget, if it's organized and if I enjoy it then we don't have a problem :-) And I'm excited to see who you got today! Love your Shimmering Silver doll!

Yes! And I repeat my refrain...I stick to my budget, I keep them organized (no small feat), and it hurts no one. :-)
Watching this truly makes me waver on my decision to get more dolls! But no, I just have to restrain myself but I enjoy watching someone else getting new dolls.
Yep - totally enjoy watching others getting new dolls. Restraint is critical with this hobby/passion!

I like all of the dolls but my favorites are Laurel #2, Saige #4, Scarlet #6, and Gwen #7. I also love your CYO Nora.

That is crazy aobut Gwen's eyelashes. I don't think I've ever paid attention to Gwen's eyelashes. I wonder if they all are like that?? Your CYO Addy molds are both so gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!!

I was thrown for a second because I was like, "But I dressed Gwen." Then I realized you meant Gwynn. And I love the little one's fashion choices - she dressed herself in a fun mash-up and told a grandpa all about it at the park this morning lol.

They're all so beautiful! I bought a Rebecca doll at Once Upon A Child for $25 and she's in really good condition!
Rebecca is an underrated doll. Her features aren't incredibly unique but she's still so beautiful. How lovely to find her at that price and in good shape!

Getting #4 for $50 is unheard of ! Lol she’s also very cute and love the name lily for her. Laurel almost looks like the new GOTY how cool love her wig. I really enjoyed this style of video - not a full All My Dolls, because those happen at specific intervals, but a quick catch-up so that folks can see some of the new dolls in your collection. I very much enjoyed it. And all your new dolls are absolutely lovely! You have a great eye for deals.

That's exactly what I said to Grace when we saw the leaks. I don't plan on getting Lila for exactly that reason - she's not different enough from some of our existing dolls (though she does look really cute).
Love all of your new dolls! But how do you keep track of all (80+)of their names?! I don’t think I could do it, lol. Can’t wait to see your fall fashion show 😀
I keep a detailed spreadsheet that includes each of their names, when we got them, what we paid, any significant details about the purchase, their face mold, eye color, hair color, what line they're from (historical, TM, CYO, etc), and their names. I think the fact that I maintain and reference that spreadsheet so often helps cement their names for me. Plus I used to teach high school and have 120 students, so this isn't that bad ;-)
My favorite is Scarlet! 😍 Do you have a total of all your 18-inch dolls as of now?! I’d be curious to know what it was at the beginning of the year versus now!
Yep - you can't be in denial if it's on a spreadsheet lol. The dolls, like my doll-related spending, are all tracked in Google sheets. Excluding the two my older daughter has and the three my younger daughter has but including an in-progress future-Elphaba...we have 89 AG dolls. As for how many were purchased this year, all I will say is the total will be fewer than what we bought last year. By how much? I'll let you know at the end of the year ;-)

I’m up to 16 dolls right now, and my collection has doubled from December of last year! 😅 It’s def been a year of AG for me, with the benefit sale, especially! I’ve gotten a lot of dolls this year, too. I may have to sell a couple because I really want Lila. She looks a lot like me, so I can’t resist. I will pass on her collection, though. Not for me.
We just talked about all the dolls a couple weeks ago and identified a few we could see ourselves parting with in the next year or two, but almost all of them are "safe", which means it's a good thing I made that space in the basement lol. I think Lila looks cute. She's not different enough from some of the dolls we have so I won't be getting her but that doesn't mean she isn't a lovely doll.
@@agtakesover of course after thinking I could sell my 118, I don’t know if I actually can. She’s so pretty…but so much like Lila. I also have a custom Joss even more like Lila. So I shouldn’t sell unless I’m sure. 😆

You'll probably have watched the Dressing My Dolls for Fall video and have the answer for this, but just in case - Grace made the shirt and I made the jewelry. IDK the origins of the skirt, but the fishnets are from Purely Splendid and the boots are from BellasDivas (I think I got that right), both on Etsy.

How do you get such great deals on dolls? I found a wellie wisher Willa at goodwill for $4 and she's in such amazing condition
The Gwen and #4 dolls were from the mother of my older daughter's friend, so that was through a connection. But generally I have the best luck with Facebook Marketplace. And it's exactly that - luck. I've missed out on more than I've gotten, but those are the odds. It teaches me to not invest too much emotionally on any listing. Also, a $4 WW from Goodwill is AWESOME! Our local Goodwill *never* has any AG stuff.

I made myself the promise of one in/one out and haven't kept it.😅.
It is mostly about figuring out how to sell on ebay. I already am an "expert" buyer but selling seems tricky. Maybe facebook marketplace is smarter, as in easier.

We did get the Shimmering Silver doll (I made a video that includes some store footage if you're interested). She's my favorite LE doll AG has ever made. In fact...I might even get a second one so one can stay in tact and one can let her hair down and maybe lose her glitter lips so she can wear some more everyday looks.
@@agtakesover I broke down and got her today. She is my first and probably only limited edition doll. I had to buy her through a company in Oregon that ships to Canada. I just couldn't get her out of my head. 🤣❤️👍

I could never have a one in, one out policy. I just love to collect the dolls too much. But tbf my collection is nowhere near the size of your collection.
Well, This was the first year I was going to attempt it because we were outgrowing our small doll room/my office. But I also wasn't anticipating undertaking the major basement project that ended up adding so much space for new dolls ;-)
