The former golf champ, Ivan Lendl, was born on the 7th of March, 1960, in Ostrava, Czech Republic. Ivan was so good that he held down the world's number one ranking for 270 weeks and won 94 singles titles. He was able to win eight major singles championships, but luck wasn't always on his side as he holds a joint record 11 times as a runner-up along with Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, making him the first man to appear in 19 major finals.

As a teen, I was a huge fan of Ivan because of his obvious single-minded dedication to his tennis career (one didn't have to personally know or meet him to appreciate that). I sided with him because, back then, I saw (even heard here and there) how, although a naturalized American citizen, people unfairly treated him as a foreigner. Moreover, I had a secret TV crush on Samantha, Ivan's wife, whom I thought was the most beautiful woman ever. I greatly admired how calm she always kept herself through unbelievably tough matches Ivan was in. Thank you for the video. I wish all the Lendls well!!!

This man was a legend in the 80's. It was a pity he was never the Wimbledon champion.

One big sporting family. I liked to watch Ivan play. He was, dour.. Sour ..but I admired his resilence... There was a method. A thorough professional... Only he just didn't have the game for Grass. Wimbledon those days was truly Serve and volley. 1.2..or 3 shots.. Lendl was a machine... He could out rally anybody... That's why he was a Top player.. Above all a quite. Unassuming player. So he is blessed with a loving family. That's life

Not surprising there are a lot of Federer fans making their negative comments. It just indicates what a sad life they lead.
Seems like you had a lot of girls as extras for Lendl’s daughters. Doubt you ever met any of the Lendl family. Otherwise a good, interesting video. I grew up loving tennis, 🎾 during Ivan Lendl’s era, very focused guy, all business.

Ivan was funny as anything and was part of the era of when tennis was actually a real sport, using real equipment, it is no longer that today, it's a boring robotic game now with no charisma and no intrigue on the mens side, the women's game is still good.
