Event Matches (2/2) - History Behind Super Smash Bros. Melee

- Shows where I believe some of the event matches in Super Smash Bros. Melee have been derived from. (I recommend watching the video in higher quality using the old CZcams player if you can.)

The Female Wire Frame is actually based on Zelda. Her moveset is an exact duplicate of Zelda's minus the specials and throws. Same goes for the Male Wire Frame and Captain Falcon. This is carried over in Brawl, with the Blue and Red Alloys respectively, with the Yellow and Green Alloys joining in, being clones of Mario and Kirby.
i wonder why they havent thought of an idea of a crossover game, IMO, starfox, metroid and F-Zero should join forces to beat a common enemy, and to make it more interesting, that can be the Aurum forces from Kid Icarus: Uprising, which will be after Pyrhorn sent them to another part of the galaxy, and can also explain the origins of the Aurum in the story.

I love these pokemon anime reference from kanto-johto. it brings back good memories. I always though mewtwo is an anti-hero, because he was just being misunderstood and in mewtwo's return he is protecting the clone pokemons as a guardian.

There was a sequel to Pikachu & Pichu called the "Pichu Bros." which was released exclusively in the Nintendo GameCube game, "Pokemon Channel". Kirby also traveled through space in Kirby's Adventure/Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. It would of been nicer if Mewtwo was the only character you can choose for the "Legendary Pokemon" Event Match. Finally, the "Lethal Marathon" Event Match was also put at Lightning Melee with the fastest runner in SSBM, Captain Falcon.
Minish cap makes more sense to be first. The sword you get eventually becomes the master sword, and Link gets his hat at the end.

what I think is because in Emerald Wyanut is given to you in an egg and wyanut evolves into wobbafet and it is one of the few pokemon that can prevent escaping and the egg is given to you so you can easily catch latios/latias so that is probably a referance to that

Okay for the Nintendo bad guys, how about Mewtwo, hes look evil but that not all, in a movie call Pokémon Mewtwo's return, Mewtwo hes a good guy, but the evil Team Rocket's boss: Giovanni kidnapp this pokémon.

From all the choices in Melee, he seemed one of the most fitting.
I wanna poit out that the event Mewtwo Strikes is also kinda based off of the first Pokemon movie!!! In case u can recall, nurse Joy was under Mewtwo's control; Zelda plays that role as well!!!
I know, but I've never played Super Mario Bros. without warping, so the Bowser-Goomba glitchy-thingy is kind of new to me.
The thing is that Mewtwo is just the villain in the English dubbing made by 4 Kids Entertainment.
In the Fishing Girl's Fishing Hut thing, the picture of the Master Fisherman dude is the one from OoT.
It's kind of ironic that the last machine to hit Captain Falcon is his own Blue Falcon.
uhh note on Mewtwo from the first movie he's actually not evil, 4kids made him a villain, in the JP version of the movie he was portrayed as confused and enraged Pokémon not knowing what his purpose as a life-form!
It's probably a stretch, but perhaps Ganondorf having two lives in Triforce Gathering references him having to be defeated twice in OoT.

The event match "Mewtwo strikes!" is most likely based of of the first pokemon movie "Mewtwo strikes back" since they have similar names, and they both involve mewtwo using a female to carry out his plans.(In the movie, it's nurse joy, and in melee, it's zelda.)

Damn, latley I've noticed that on theses videos, there are a lot of comments about pokemon animes. The only game I have played was Gold Edition (not Heart).

In reality, before world 8-4 all the Bowsers were Fakes.
Thats why a goomba or another enemy, pops out of the death animation.

Not necessarily, because Gyarados can use Blizzard, which would be super effective against Zapdos. I think the worst match-up would be an electric type against a rock/ground type. Electric immunity and resistance to normal attacks...
I do like how after all of that, Zapdos knocked itself out.

I never played any of the handheld Zelda's, with the exception of Phantom Hourglass, but Miyamoto said that OoT came first (This was before TP). I believe he said it after Minish Cap, but since when have Zelda timeline's made sense?

4 the last event do u beat all the evnts first and the pickachu and pichu is rly i used a lot of ppl including jigglypuff cuz of the down b and couldnt do it

@frikken20 A few weeks ago it only took me a few tries, probably 10 at most, though I expect it was closer to 5 (not counting various automatic restarts). I successfully cleared the event with Captain Falcon, mostly by spamming the Knee of Justice.

in my version of super mario bros hitting bowser with fire balls kills him but a clow lakuate or something falls not a goomba.
