Did you download vw's odis diag software onto the im608? What connector did you use to programe the key through odis?
Great information. Thanks for putting this video up. One question: Why does the IM608 when adding keys to MQB golf 2016 and up proximity, lose remote functions but still can start with push start proximity on new and old key? Tried different keys from different manufacturers and no DTC'S present and all the time the same result. When the second key gets erased, the first key works 100% fine all functions but not when second key is added they both lose remote functions. Thanks for any feedback.
I think I saw something about this, originally the guy was using an aftermarket key and had the behavior you are referring to, he came back with an OEM key and both keys worked normally.

Alot of good info. If you update to the newest system you are required to connect to the internet every time you use the 608/508. Luckily I caught wind of this and I'm holding off from the latest update.
I got screwed!! Unbelievable why I need to connect to internet everytime I wanna use the scanner!!
which is the best and most advanced scanner from Autel where Key Coding is not the most important but Service and Trouble shooting of the car ?
HI Rogelio, I dont give tool recommendations without doing a consultation first. If you would like me to align you with the right tool based on the assessment I conduct on you and your requirements then ill be able to help you. Otherwise you can ask the vendor your thinking of purchasing from. Just keep in mind they wont take responsibility for the free advise they give you.
thinking of buying the pro2, but i have a question. does Autel have a web page where you can look up how to program the fob/key for each vehicle. don’t want to compare because i have an autopropad and want to upgrade to an Autel, but autopropad has a webpage where it gives minor steps on what their machine it can/can’t do for programming for each vehicle
Autel does have it but I would just use it to gather general information. If you have a specific vehicle in mind that you want to know if the autel can do it, you need to ask your supplier if that can validate the special function by VIN number. This what I do to give my clients 100 percent certainty that the VIN they provided is covered by the Autel

Good morning. I just acquired IM608 Pro II with G-Box2 and APB112 from US. How do I register to establish consultancy relationship. This is my first Standard device. Its been Tango and Tmpro2 programming for years.
HI Nurudenn. It might be cheaper for you if I sold you the tool directly since I come with the tools I sell. I do have a 1 on 1 mentorship but it starts off at 3k.
You also need to make sure that the US version will work in your country. They have IP restrictions on them and if you purchase a unit thats not for your region it will get blocked.
Curtis, My girlfriend has an open recall on her 2018 Hyundai Tucson with blade type key to be performed. The factory recall involves a software update to BCM to improve antitheft security. Is my IM 508 going to be rendendered useless to pull PIN and add keys to Hyundais that have had this recall performed?
Hello, What I would do first is to check the OEM information as to what needs to be done after you reprogram the module with the J2534 as you might no need to do any key registration . Generally speaking if I replaced a module thats immo related I would need to re register the keys , but If I am just updating the existing software ( reprogramming) then its not necessary. Your Im508 does have the ability to perform key registration on this vehicle.
@AutelConsultancy Not talking about J2534 programming Just wondering if Autel engineeres tested if our tool ability to pull the PIN and add a key or do all keys lost will be lost after the recall is performed?
@@1fnjo790 Generally speaking it should be able to do it. But if you want 100 percent certainty, you need to get the VIN number and have your supplier verify the procedure / special functions by VIN. This is what I do to be sure if the autel will be able to perform the special function my client is looking for.
@AutelConsultancy Thanks Curtis. I don't think the blade key vehicles involved in this USA recall that are being stolen so often even have an mmobilizer system, but the bcm update might be making one.

Same software functions, just the hardware is different
I also heard of the network requirement- which is ok for me, but I heard it was accidental update but also heard that it’s staying, what is the official word?
I haven't received any official statement on that.

You only require to first log in when you power it on, and then you can take your tool where you have no internet to do anything you did before the update. People are getting this wrong. It's for security reasons in case someone takes your tool. Every time you power your tool up, you need to have an internet connection, and then you are good until you re-start it again.
I have a Maxisys My908 completely formatted and all files and programs have been erased. What is the solution?
You need to purchase another subscription in order to download the new software again.

Very important "feature" - The IM608 requires constant internet access, even for older vehicles that shouldn't need internet. If you work in an area with spotty cell coverage, or rural areas with no cell service, or Autels servers are having issues, you're in BIG TROUBLE! Some people say Autel is trying to mine data and sell it. Not sure, but it's super annoying and should be an option, but not required. Look at other key programmers for the time being.

@@ericdoh2884 HI Eric, you going to have a locked tool my friend. You are going to have to talk with your supplier as I only can take responsibility for the clients I sell to in Ghana. Just make sure they have an easy return policy and also make sure how are they going to handle any hardware repairs and software issues related to your device.
