    Thank you!!!
    I have a G3, and I have been wanting something with a bigger FOV, and that looks like it will accomplish exactly what I need, with no need for a new hole!
    Thanks!

      Exactly! The install couldn't be simpler when you upgrade from the G3 Flex. And you are so welcome 😊

    Thanks for the review of the G5 Nice to see they improved the lower end cameras along with the Protect software .

      Yes, I have been thinking the same thing after recording. It is nice to see some improvement on the entry level cameras.

    Thanks, Lars, and greetings from the surprisingly warm-for-January state of Minnesota in the USA. I really enjoy your videos and found this one as informative as the others you’ve done. As you and others have pointed out, the G5 certainly displays a higher resolution but I believe it comes at a cost at night. If you watch your video again, you’ll note details at the far end of your porch with the G3 that are little more than dark voids with the G5. Whether or not that is important to a user isn’t clear, but I suspect it very well could be. Please take a look and let me know if you see what I’m referring to.

      Hi Rob. Thanks for the kind words 😊I see what you mean, and while the resolution is definitely much better on the G5, the edges are darker at night. My thoughts are that this is because the image is now much wider, but it is the same IR light modules used. This probably means it was designed for the G3 lens and doesn't quite reach for the G5. Doesn't bother me too much, but good point 😊

    We've done a ton of both and I agree, G5 in both bullet and flex has significantly better image, also twice the resolution of the G3 as mentioned. When you comparing the two cameras, best to throw the live view in HQ to better show the higher resolution of the G5

      @LarsKlintTech  Před 6 měsíci

      Awesome to hear it isn't a once off ☺️ I'm very happy with both Flex and Bullet too so far.

    Generally I really like the improved image of the G5 line, got both Dome, Flex and Bullet and they are even a good upgrade from the G4´s. Today I got the AI 360 which is suppose to replace a G4 and G5 dome + G4 Insta as it can be placed at an overhang on a corner of my shed. However I am pretty disappointed with the quality of such an expensive camera, and I am considering returning it for either the G5 Pro or the AI Pro with 4K and much better image quality.

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  Před 6 měsíci +2

      I have been super happy with the G5 Bullet and G5 Pro cameras too. They are like a refined version of the G4 range, and sometimes even cheaper too!!
      I haven't tried any of the AI range cameras yet, but I do have an AI Bullet in the stash of devices that I am going to put on the channel. I have a kinda special purpose for it though, so it might be a bit before I set it up.

    Thanks for all your Unifi cameras reviews. They are very informative and helpful! Can you do a comparison between the G5 Bullet and the G5 Flex? I haven't seen anyone do a comparison of these two yet. Thanks!

      You are most welcome! Thanks for watching.
      I will take your request on board. I was considering comparing more of the range, when I get the G5 Dome, and the AI Bullet as well.

    Hi Lars, if you update to the RC Version of Protect you also have animal detection in place.
    Thanks for your efforts and comparisons. Just found your channel a few weeks ago and see a lot of similarities to my setup.

    I think the next logical step for Ubiquiti is developing their own processor designs

      Really? Do elaborate please 😊

    • @tld8102
      @tld8102 Před 6 měsíci

      in terms of where they can make their own video processors like the way go GoPro and their action cameras, able to combine multiple processors into one. where software can most effectively utilise them.@@LarsKlintTech

    G3 flex is a good cheap option at $110 aud for when you don't need resolution. like in hallways where only motions is what you car about.

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  Před 6 měsíci

      G3 definitely has a use, and I'm not going to just upgrade all mine either. I'll want the G5 where I need the resolution or angle.

    I’ve been thinking of setting up UniFi Protect at home, but have a question.
    I have a few narrow alleys, and think it would be great to set up the cameras “sideways” so arranged like a phone screen as opposed to a TV screen.
    Can the Protect system flip the live image 90’ degrees?

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Good question Jozo. Some cameras can flip the image vertically and horizontally, but you can't rotate it unfortunately.

      @@LarsKlintTech Thanks for the reply.
      Anyone else out there that thinks this is a good idea?
      Maybe I should contact Ubiquiti about it. Software tweak is all that’s needed.
