- Comparing Samsung's Galaxy S10 Plus with the new S10 5G, to see which mighty 2019 smartphone is best for you. It's not just the 5G connectivity which separates these two - the specs and camera tech are also different in quite a few ways, as is the battery life.
The S10+ might seem like a beast at 6.4-inches, yet the 6.7-inch Galaxy S10 5G is the biggest Samsung phone around. That's not the only hardware difference either. You get a larger 4500mAh battery in comparison to the Plus model's 4100mAh cell, while the more premium smartphones also boasts quick charge at 25W.
The S10 5G serves up a bonus ToF camera lens around back, while also swapping out the front 8MP depth sensor for a second ToF lens. Those camera features and performance are almost identical however, with the exception of the new Live Focus video mode.
Speed-wise, these phones are comparable - they both serve up the same specs, although the S10+ can be grabbed with 12GB RAM (can anyone say 'overkill'). However, the 5G version delivers better battery life, even if it lacks the expandable storage of the Plus.

I purchased a S10+ last week. Superb phone. I also have the newer S20+. I prefer the S10+ as it is not as big & heavy. An older S9+ is about to be sold. I didn't go for a S10 5G for the following reasons. No headphone jack or SD card slot. about £50-£70 difference in price too. I paid £230 for a prism white & unlocked S10+ from CeX. Came with a warranty.

Had both, but kept the 5G model - not for 5G but for it's beautiful screen, better battery life and camera. Oh and I got it new for £600 - which is a steal!

You didnt mention the power button placement. Much more natural on the 5g. Glad I swapped from the plus as I'm finding it much nicer to use.
How is The battery if you have exynos version?
The only problem that keeps me from buying the 5g is that it only has one sim card slot :(.
2:06 My S10+ does have screen protector pre-installed. I don't normally use one, but since it's there, I'm just using it to guard against fingerprints, and me eventually having to clean them.

It's up to your budget. I have the 5g version. The camera is excellent. Charging is fast. Last all day with constant usage. Larger screen is beautiful. 4g is more reliable and faster.

That option might not be available in the UK you guys might be limited to 256gb only. Verizon in the states only offers 512gb 8gb of ram where as the Korean version is 1tb 12gb if ram and comes in gold...

I have the 5g now with the s10+ before. Hands down I like the 5g phone more. I havent used a sd in years, and there is always the usb port if I do want to do a back up.
What I like the most is hiding the notch, and having a note screen without holes. Plus the cameras do work better with the 3d depth.

256GB base storage on 5G is enough but if want more storage go for 512GB. Actually I have the 512GB variant...😜

In the UK it's carrier locked and I assume the same for the US, only a few networks offer 5G

The retail version of the S10+ has a preinstalled screen protector.
After 5g if they make a 6g or something they will remove 2g as quite a few phones have a 2g 3g 4g chip and as soon as we get higher gs then they might just remove the older gs. :)

Im watching this using my Samsung S10 5G which I bought from korea directly in the samsung store and I can say it works perfectly fine and still feels a flagship phone! And I got it only 400 dollars for a brandnew unit! Limited stocks though cause samsung already phase out the S10 series...

honestly my sister and I are both samsung s10 5g users as of now, mine is an exynos processor and my sisters phone is a Snapdragon. All I can say is theres no difference at all!,
Though my phone has Korean third party apps but its not a big deal!
The only difference that I can say is the Snapdragon version tends to heat more when playing games such as mobile legends

I found the Width of the s10 5G to be an issue here. I couldn't actually see any other phone in this dimensions range that has the same width size. it looks uncomfortable to use single hand over tome, and it's basically a tablet.
I get the additional TOF sensor but even the P40 pro got one and it's not as crazy big. The only reason I wouldn't buy the S10 plus, glorious as it looks is the Forever charging time it's got

@@48set oh man it's incredible. I'm so happy with it! Only the 8GB RAM version but its installing all my apps over 4G pretty damn fast. The gestures are so much better than android 9's default. Also I can reply to your comment without scrolling to it and having to pause the video. Everything is so much better than the S8+

@@juanpaulr camera software is pretty bad, Samsung still has not fixed the 200% sharpening filter on all photos so I installed the GCam APK file for my S105G and the images are so much better and far more realistic looking. Give it a try it's really worth it if you like cameras!

The s10 5g is more comfortable to hold. Having that extra surface area to relax your hand across without having a kink or slight arched hand. And the extra battery is worth it. Both of mine lasted a good two days of average use.
I don't mind if S10 5G doesn't have SD card slot. 256 gig is too much for a memory storage. I go with the advanced S10 5G for future 5G connectivity.
