Here's one for you. I recently did a drain and fill on my cvt. I used valvoline cvt fluid. The dedicated cvt fluid, not the universal maxlife stuff. I did 3x drain and fill. I checked the level, basically impossible to ever fill if you follow the instructions from the dealership shop manual. I then cleaned up everything with brake clean several times until I was convinced no spillage was left. Both top and bottom. Even degreased my engine bay. Anyway...after the car warms up, and I put it in R, and then drive I get a super strong fresh cvt fluid smell through the vents in the car with fan on. It goes away very quickly when driving. I've even gone into reverse, then drive with hood open. Jumped out and cant smell anything in the engine bay. It's only through the vents with heat on. I know the correct amount of fluid is in there. I even rechecked everything again. Yes I'm on level ground when I did the drain and fills. Total capacity for the transmission is a tad under 8 qrts. I get about 3.9 out every drain and fill. This has me super stumped. Coolant looks fine, no mixture. Separate systems anyway on my car.
I have a Malibu 2013. Can that issue happen with the transmission not changing in gear it will turn on but it won’t go nowhere. It won’t go on gear after cooling down
This just happened to me. Nissan Pulsar 2015 Build. No warning light or anything, so I'm hoping I caught it early. But my Mechanic reckons it's made it to the transmission already. He wants to drain and refill multiple times over a few weeks to get it fixed. But I'm worried it will seize the transmission at some point. Argh!
I have the same issue but would it cause the TCM to overheat? I have Christmas lights coming on after couple hours driving car my guess something is over heating, My coolant bottle has transmission oil mixed in it and one of the coolers are leaking water there’s definitely something weird going on in that region, my car is Audi a6 2016
Hey I have a 2005 f150 4.6. I just replaced my transmission cooler. When I unplug the trans cooler line and started the truck no trans fluid was coming out. Is my trans pump broken.
I have a Honda civic 2012 coupe everything is factory designed besides an cold air intake (I dint tow anything )I was wondering if I need to get an transmssion cooler for the hot temp. In south texas Or if my car is safe enough to handle it via it’s build design? Any thing helps
If it's only been running for 11 years, that's not really long enough to know if it's working propertly. If you want to get at least 50 years service from your honda civic, it's probably best to get a freezer installed in your trunk to keep things cooler.
I recently had my lower trans line blow out of its quick connect connection that is on the radiator just driving regularly back to my destination and lost about 6.5 quarts which was very annoying because I couldn’t drive the truck till I filled it back up. I’m looking for help on why that line suddenly disconnected itself. It’s in a 6.0 powerstroke f250. Thanks!
Does the cooler on the side of the transmission have a thermostat in it? The aluminum box. Mine is overheating. I’ve replaced the cooler at the radiator. One line gets hot. The other stays cold. I’ve bypassed my transmission heater to eliminate that as a cause. Is there any videos on troubleshooting this or replacing the side mounted cooler?
Shouldn't one line be hot because the heated fluid has to pass through the transmission cooler to go back to the transmission cool? That would explain one line being hot and the other cool. Making your cooler normal.
U need to flush both cooling system + transmission system unfortunately once system has been compromised tham actually Flushing is ghe only method thst will work although Flushing is never recommended, this would be the only scenario, drain & refill will only do about 60% unfortunately never use Flushing as part of maintenance service
Are you saying to flush the radiator out too? I just got a new transmission & come to find out the old one overheated & went bad because of the valve body and coolant running into the transmission fluid.
I have Mitsubishi triton 2.4 auto 5 speeds, How if my gear changing smoothly from gear 1 to 2 when the engine still in cold temperature, but when the temperature is at normal temperature, the gear change started to jerk, especially when its in traffic Jem.. is it because of the cooling system? My cooler didt leak
I’m having that problem now with my 5 speed dodge charger trans when it’s cold the car drives and changes gears smoothly but when the car heats up it jerks out and don’t drive after that I do have a P0732 code on it I’m figuring maybe it’s the torque converter or the trans cooler
Very useful as usual, thank you sir
Thanks for the advice 💯
Fantastic informative video. Thank you
Thanks alot for the info!

Oh and the car drives great. Just like when it was brand new. So I don't get it.

Is it possible that this transmission leak via cooler line is just a washer that goes to the banjo bolt? Thanks.
Is there others ways in make the transmission cooler without installing the trans oil cooler?

I have an 02 Acura MDX and starts to overheat and slip after an hour of driving. Do you think this can be caused by a clogged transmission oil filter?
Yo I have the same problem ..how did you resolve it
Hi How are you?
In case of DSG overheating, is that smock white or black?
Thanks bro
can i bypass radiator transmission cooler for a standalone?

A transmission cooler will definitely help prevent the transmission from overheating. It also depends on driving habits as well.

Why transmission fluid overflow from dipstick?
Did you find out what it was

Sounds like input/ output speed sensor. Is it associated with any dash lights?
@@isaiahportela4547 no, didn't show any check light..
