Love this tarja vs floor shit everywhere, i like them both but in all fairness, floors vocal range is much better, she can reach the deep opera voice too like tarja + all the other styles she can reach, makes floor the best of all time, other then that a very good list

You should all listen to ANABANTHA, the singer has a really beautiful and enchanting voice, they're from Mexico and play Gothic Metal, but she's soprano too
Nice video a little constructive criticism . As a former graphic designer dark fonts on a dark or busy background are really hard to read. Either outline them in a thin white or use a white or light shade of grey

Thanks for putting Katra on the list! She is the first voice of symphonic metal I've heard in my life. Has been my favourite ever since! It's sad she stopped making albums, however.

Hmm,, selection made more than six years ago, perhaps reputations prevailed over quality at that time. But anyway, if this list was made today then it would be something like (1) Floor, (2) Simone - a serious gap - and then Dianna, Tarja and the rest.

Thanks for this, there's a few I don't know on there. Gives me some bands to check out. It's nice to see Leaves Eyes on the list, I almost never hear anyone mention them. Not sure I agree with the order though - I mean, how can Simone be below Xandria and Within Temptation (don't get me wrong, I love them both too, just not as much as Epica). But hey, personal preference is a thing right? I'd say Floor and Simone are easily the top 2. And I guess I can forgive you for putting Tarja on top, she'd be my #3. I like that you picked one of her newer songs instead of a Nightwish one for her, even if Fantasmic is forever going to be my favorite that she's sung. That might just be nostalgia though - that was the first song by a symphonic metal band that I ever heard, and boy did it change my preferences in music!

Nun, die ersten drei sind unbestritten, auf der 4 die kleine Vibeke - DAS freut mich sehr 😊. Auch Helena Iren unter den Top10 - sehr gut, war schon zu alten Trail of Tears-Zeiten eine Klasse für sich👍. Sabine Edelsbacher gehört allerdings unbedingt unter die Top10🤔😍.
Und ich vermisse Anneke van Giersbergen 🤔🤘?.
Ich kenne einige schon zwei Jahrzehnte, teils persönlich, und beobachte die Entwicklung auch weiterhin.

Amy Lee doesn't really do symphonic metal though, she's good nonetheless, but more in the pop/rock genres, because of the mostly contempary singing style that she uses
Agree it's not a contest. For me the list is great in that it creates a listening plan, irrespective of the order.

After that, the others go in order according to different tastes. I must add that it was difficult for me to decide between Tarja and Floor, but still. Some small things decided.
Agreed that is a tough choice. I would personally put Floor just a touch ahead as I like her overall versatility and style. Tarja is amazing and super talented but I have never been as big a fan of the Bel Canto style. Still love almost all her stuff though.
Also why could he not at least mention that both are singers of Nightwish? Most casual metal fans will know them better from than that than the their other stuff.

Tarja should take more care of her fans, killing them with her voice is not a very nice thing to do.

Lol...in which parallel universe is Sharon a better singer than Floor? Tarja is maybe on the same level as Floor...MAYBE. But no one could really keep up with Floor's technique range (classic, opera, celtic siren, pop, classic rock belting, frying/growling). She is the undisputed goddess of symphonic Metal.
...oh, and Anneke van Giersbergen is hurtfully missing!
Personally I do agree with him in most of his decisions...,
Tarja is the best and he is right too about Sharon, she deserves
the second spot... with her angelic voice, I could listen to her sing forever... I never felt that while listening to Floor Jansen
But he messed about 3 things in particular :
* He forgot about Anneke van Giersbergen
* Anna Van Giersbergen deserves a better rank
* And his biggest mistake is Simone Simons

Floor is a better singer. But Sharon is a better musician. Floor can't stand music industry on her own. She is well known just because of Nightwish. Sharon, on the contrary, is a really good song writer, lyricist and costume designer. She has unique, angelic voice in which nobody can imitate. Last but not least, she has unique dance too.

In case you don't know, she had two previous band before nightwish, also she toured around the world with Afterforever and Revamp, she did a lot of partership in music with a lot of musicians and different projects beside her bands, on the other hand, we actually could say that Tarja is well known and got all success she has only because Nightwish.

How much youtube view has After Forever/Revamp/Northward gotten so far? Did mainstream audience know her before she got hired by Nightwish? Has she ever performed at Rock am Ring, or Wacken, or Download before Nightwish era? Are all those stuff comparable to Within Temptation?

If not Floor then Tarja is a very good choice. Floor can sing most of Tarja's song very very well...but not all of them. Some songs only Tarja does them well enough.

@@ChristianSander1969 OK no, you're wrong on many levels. Opinion is one thing; we all have one of those. Firstly Tarja is objectively a fantastic singer and would be on the list anyway. You have it backwards; Nightwish likely wouldn't be known, at least not as we know them, if she wasn't their singer. They were originally going to be a folk metal band but because of her ability they changed their style.
Secondly, Floor cannot sing certain songs as well as Tarja. If you can't hear that then you're just not listening. They sing them differently, yes, but that's because their basic styles are different. And if you think Tarja can only sing one way then again that shows you don't pay attention. Plus your description of her style as slow, off pitch, is totally wrong! Yet again, you don't pay attention. You heard a part of one song (probably Bless the child from End of an era) and you used that to back up your prejudged conclusion.
Try again after you've actually paid attention.

This video is too old ... eight years. And then there is the question if Scardust is Symphonic Metal or - like they say about themselves - Progressive Metal. But you are totally correct - their Nighwish covers might even better than Floor's.
