agree. and without spoiling. they should be asking: what is the system? is it a game? what is it? what is the system's purpose? is there someone who created it? if there is, who? why jinwoo has it? is it a power? is it an ability? these are the question they should be asking instead of automatically thinking it's a game. although they should be patient because it is unlikely this will be answered in season 1. i'm someone who read the manhwa and finished it and reading currently solo leveling ragnarok.
I honestly giggled a little seeing Ange still wearing the haikyuu jersey for a different anime reaction HAHAHA! Haikyuu is everywhere and I love it! On another note, this episode was absolutely fantastic. Jinwoo's VA is extraordinary, and the fact that he's gradually lowering his voice to match Jinwoo's maturing appearance AND confidence is SO GOOD. They really cast the perfect person for Jinwoo's role. I'm so happy with the episodes that are currently out!

Carlie & Angie, you gotta realize that Hunters's powers still work in the ''real world''. Their job is to use that power inside dungeons (or when there's a dungeon break), but Jin-Woo is the only one who has access to these ''instance dungeons'', courtesy of our friend 'system' who is helping him cheat the game and level up gradually. These instance dungeons are just the same as a regular dungeon, except only he gets to access them. He can still go into regular dungeons and clear them, get the essence stones, make money, etc... But what happens if the world finds out there's a Hunter who can increase his power ?

@@junglekxngtalksanime its the sword he was holding while getting attacked by the big statues of you remeber. they cut of his arm that was holding the sword so i guess the arm that was holding it still touched it when he became a "player" so thats why it gott into his inventory
@junglekxngtalksanime kinda sorta. When he became a player he was technically holding onto the sword. That arm was cut off by the statue but since he was "holding" it then whatever he had when he became a player was automatically stored in his inventory
Also they change the stats on the dagger..In the Manhwa is bleed affect instead of drain affect,,I wonder why they change it..the bleed affect have some role on the manhwa
Btw. The weapon Jin Woo pulled from the inventory was the sword he used when his arm got cut off.
Solo Leveling manhwa is already absolutely stunning but the music and (for me) especially the voice acting really formed it into a new experience that I do not mind going through again.

Apparently he was farming those goblins, wolfs and other monsters for 6-7 hours before fighting final boss Kasaka.
I mean he entered the dungeon when it was day but escaped at night.
Real RPG shit. Like when you hit an area and monsters start spawning at a rapid constant rate. And then like 10 minutes in, you realize they never stop, you actually just gotta through. And now you accidently more powerful for the stuff ahead because you farmed by accident.

I swear if you close your eyes during the final part of the fight you can't tell if you're watching Solo Leveling or Attack on Titan, for the soundtrack is made by Hiroyuki Sawano (AoT ost composer) and the voice actor for Sung really resembles Yuki Kaji (Eren's voice actor). It makes me feel very emotional.

All the dungeons that appear are all from different dimensions, gates are the portals that connects earth to those dungeons, even the instant dungeon.
The game like system is just a representation of the power that he obtained to "level up" not really an alternate reality, he is still a hunter of earth, the instant dungeon can still be entered by other people if they were with Jinwoo when he inserted the key, because there was a gate that opened when the key was used.
Also, the instant dungeon was based on that underground subway that's why they showed the woman coming from there but not seeing Jinwoo. It was overlapping with Earth's subway, but it is a dungeon so it is in a different dimension.
Another thing, think of the premise as this, earth has people, when the gates appeared among the people there are those who awakened as hunters, and because of the double dungeon among the hunters there was someone who awakened as a player.
- Hunters are still people but they have mana, powers, and classes, and they can enter dungeons,
- Jinwoo is a player he has mana, powers, a class, and can enter dungeons, but he can also level up, and access loot or drops like items, and weapons, regular hunters has to collect materials then create the gear from those materials.
- Regular people don't have mana, powers, and classes, and they can't enter dungeons or else they could die, the reason is because of mana.
Mana is emitted through anything that has mana, this can be dungeons, hunters, or items. This is why some people get sick with eternal slumber, the body can't adapt to the mana that is being released.

Solo Leveling was quite original when it came out first in light novel/webtoon, but for those who are discovering it now for the first time, these video games mechanics can seem very commun because of the Isekai trend which uses the same type of games mechanics

I actually really enjoy how this series (and a ton of Korean manhwa) use video game interfaces as a language to communicate with the reader/viewer. You could do ALL of this without the video game UI, but it would take multiple episodes to explain. But when he says "inventory" and a screen pops up, we all get it
Yeah , there's multiple other manga/novels where the MCs have things like the inventory, or a way to "level up" , but in a organical way(as in , natural , not in a better way , even if most of the stories who have natural ways to get those things are better)
Watching solo leveling is a 2 for 1, you get to watch the episode of solo leveling which is always great, and then get to see your favorite reaction channel after :D

Its not a game. Its real life and he got a cheat to level up which looks like a game interface.
In a way the cheat is forcing him to do training in the name of quests and special events to help him grow.

I think you are realizing that a "player" is a different paradigm than a "hunter". He may be stuck as a rank E hunter forever, but his player levels will soon exceed what even an S rank hunter could do. Neither he nor the world (nor most reactors) realize he has transcended hunters.
It looks like a game but don't forget everything is real. There's a mystery behind every thing that is happening to him and in this world.

The dungeons people go into arent necessarily "games" per say. The dungeons are areas in which monsters gather, theyre seperate dimensions entirely. When you enter one youre basically in a different reality seperate from the real world. Dimension A is the real world and dimension B is the dungeon. Also, in this world people are classed into different jobs like mage, knight, assassin. That sort of thing. Jinwoo is different in that for him as a player the rules are technically the same but theyre also completely different at the same time. Think of it this way. Take the guy who was blocking the Golem at the end of the episode. Hes always gonna be as strong as he is. No more no less. However since Jinwoo is a player and can level up like in a game, his potential is infinite. Hes not bound to their rules
Something that I kept seeing about reactors, is that they think this new ability is a second awakening. I understand that it might be confusing how they explained it, but he isn't working towards a second awakening, but rather this new ability is foreign concept in their world. A second awakening are rare cases, but essentially the same as the first, just simply instantly improving their stats and ranking. His new ability however, is allowing him to constantly get stronger. This further proves that what he is experiencing is not the same as a second awakening, otherwise he would instantly be stronger, but no longer able to improve. His abilities allowed him to enter an instance dungeon, which allows him to farm both the instance dungeon and the "gate" dungeons. This is not availble to normal hunters.
In terms of it being like a game, while it has the same concepts of a game, it is not pulling him into a game nor is it like he is going into a game. His improvements are very applicable to their world still.
You had questions about the limitations of entering dungeons, but it's not that they can't enter higher ranked dungeons, but if someone with a low rank decides to enter a high rank dungeon, they will most definitely end up dead because of the difference in abilities. Since "hunters" can't improve their rank abilities, they themselves delegate who is suitable to enter it, preventing unnecessary casualties.
Don't worry this is a quest for him to prepare himself for something big it was not a coincidence its a test

I think his leveling up is something entirely different from the regular ranking systems atributed to hunters, pretty sure his power readings won t change even now, if they do another scan.
Also, his phisical apperance, his voice, everything is evolving with his power, like he is maturing as he grows stronger.
There is definitely something helping him, some sort of entity, giving him acess to all these exclusive things to help him be ready for something much bigger and complex...at least that´s what makes more sense to me at this moment

Well, on his Re-Evaluation they didn't scanned him, he was instead asked what he can do, so he summoned a Shadow, so Go Gun Hee asked him again if that's he really can do (he's doubting Jin Woo), so he summoned more Shadow and Go Gun Hee along with Baek and Choi Jong-In and they got really spooked when they witness what he can do, after that he got S-Rank.
And Yes. There is someone "helping" him, Architect, the Moderator of the System and Ashborn, the King of the Dead and the Monarch of Shadows, he was also the Strongest Ruler and Greatest Brilliant of Light. The System is for Jin-Woo so he can grow stronger to be the vessel of Ashborn, but too bad for Architect his plan for "Immortality" didn't worked out for him.

Solo leveling spawned a wave of copy cats, with it being the first, that I'm aware of, to have the dungeon gates appearing and have awakeners with fantasy powers going into them to beat them back.

Its pretty original i guess, cause when its realease around 2017?? I guess i forget the exact time but its pretty old story and at that time story which similar like that not much around compare to nowadays. I remember start reading the novel about when i was in school days, now im working. Its pretty old story, the manhwa i think around 2020 or 2021

So it gets stated, either earlier this episode or last episode, that 'Physical" attacks or Damage are very ineffective against Magical Beasts, this is why punching the Wolf wasn't really doing any noticeable damage, and why modern weapons like guns don't work on the Magical Beasts. Hunters need weapons that have magical energy imbued into them, in order to effectively damage them. In order for a Hunter's Punches or Kicks to seriously injure or kill a Magical Beast, the Hunter needs to be WAY more powerful than the monster for it to work.
I think it’s really important to distinguish between the anime production staff and the manhwa author and artist! The anime is doing a great job of bringing it to life, but the story is all the manhwa author!
