    Hi! Very good and helpful videio! I am struggling getting this micro osd to work. Can you please explain why you solder it from battery pads and from 5v pads same time or just give me advice how to power it? Thank you!

    • @BayAreaFPV
      @BayAreaFPV  Před 3 lety +1

      Great question! It took me a min to go back through the video and see what you were referring to. However I see that when I had it all connected and taped down, I explained everything EXCEPT how the OSD was getting powered. Here is the answer. At 10:13 in the video, the two power wires connecting to the top of the OSD are going to BATT1 and GND on the OSD and running back directly to the full battery voltage on the PDB. The purpose of this is so that you can know how much battery you have remaining. The two power wires coming off of the left side of the OSD (just above the LED) are connected to the +5VIN-500ma and GND on the OSD and running back to a 5V out on the PDB. The 5V from the PDB to the OSD is what is actually powering the OSD. Hopefully this helps. LMK if you have any other questions.

      @@BayAreaFPV Thank you for the fast response! I have 3 more questions as my last :)
      1. Can I power it from 5v pad from FC becouse I am running KISS 4in1 esc? (mean can fc 5v pad provide 500ma)
      2. In forums most people solder a 370mF 10v cap in to the osd becouse of voltage spikes or use a voltage regulator, have you experienced any problems with it? ( I see if you run it from pdb it already has stable voltage regulation)
      3. Is it a MUST to wire all grounds on same circuit to run it properly?
      BIG Thanks in advance!

    • @BayAreaFPV
      @BayAreaFPV  Před 3 lety +1

      I would try and avoid using the 5v from the FC if at all possible. Regarding a capacitor, it really all depends on your build and how clean things are. I don’t think it should be required. Here is a link to the Flyduino site that explicitly discusses how to use a minimOSD with KISS and likely has everything you need and more.

      Hi there, have you registered the MWOSD configurator? There should be a button called register where you can enter the code you should have received in email. That is likely your issue. Hope this helps.

      If you have power to the OSD, but the light is not blinking, that likely indicates that there is a communication issue. Check your wiring and make sure that all of the TX and RX are going to the correct pads.
