@@karyacorp1463 Looks kinda sus to me, both uploads of "Fond My Mind"/"You Got Blue Eyes" are the same recording but one of them has been restored (reasonably well though to be fair, sounds less abrasive and more detailed than the original but a little muffled at times), listen to the tape sag at 1:57 and the very beginning of something (apparently a station jingle according to the r/FondMyMind subreddit) at the end. Furthermore, the description says "Provided to CZcams by Sonosuite S.L.", SonoSuite being a "white-label platform" where aggregators and labels can publish music. Also, the other songs by the same artist sound completely different. Also, the comments are switched off. Based on those red flags, I could be wrong but I think someone has managed to game the system - they submitted "Fond My Mind" (whatever its actual title may be) as their own work to one of those unscrupulous "publish your work through us and we'll enforce your copyright and get you royalties" services which in turn employed SonoSuite to publish "their" music, hence why "You Got Blue Eyes" and these other songs showed up all over the place - CZcams, Amazon, Apple Music, SoundCloud, Shazam, Tidal, Spotify, Instagram and who knows where else, all with barely any identity or followers. That's my theory anyway.

She had said this was part of a solo album she did in the 80s, but due to tensions and unhappiness with her label, she sued them and the album never fully released (though it's speculated whatever label she recorded it under sent snippets of it out for commercial use). I've been searching for a song I heard in 1992 on a British radio show called U.K. Chart Attack.
It was a pop-hip hop track that sampled the voice recordings of Princess Diana talking to her "friend" on the phone.
The lead in to the song was.
"You'll always be a Princess to me, you'll always be a Princess"
The chorus is sung by a woman repeating the word "Princess" in a haunting, melodic way.
I'm almost positive the DJ called the track "Princess" by an artist named "Blue".
I haven't been able find this track since I first heard it in '92.
Was it scrubbed by the Royal family ???
    Who knows.

When the company moved to a different location, they literally had tens of thousands of old review copies that nobody had ever heard of dating back to the 60s. There's a chance this comment won't be seen, but this all of what I *think* I know about the "Everyone Knows That" song
    - It uses a distinct clap sound from a LinnDrum drum machine, released in the early 1980s. The chance of it being made by AI in it's current state is close to none.
    - The vocals and lyrics, to me, sound very similar to that of the the work of relatively unknown singer Alisha, who made music like "Do You Dream About Me" for films like Mannequin (1987).
    - Following on what someone in the original post commented, it is very much typical 80s music, I could only guess around the mid to late 80s, since by the early 90s, most music in this type of style would've been unpopular.
Everything else I have has already been mentioned or is too small to add, that's all I got from this.
small edit; listening again, I can hear the male voice in it, but at the same time, I can still hear something similar to Alisha. Guess i'll only know when the full thing comes around.

I feel like one thing people might be skipping over another possibility for these songs. I listen to the radio relatively often, and a few stations I listen to like to make song parodies based on current events. The second song shown gives me that sort of vibe-it sounds like it could’ve been a station parodying a popular song or music style to bring up worries people had about online predators.
Fascinating video! Love this kind of stuff.

I'm not sure how it is in i.e the USA but in Poland most ads have a parody of existing songs advertising products for example "Brico" has a parody of Despacito which goes "Masz to w Brico" or "Shopee" (rip) has parodies of polish nursery rhymes (which is probably why it got shut down)
Although the original versions of those songs are quite well known so there probably isn't any lost media of them

@@filipfilip1507 Yeah, US ads can have song parodies too! I’m blanking on examples right now but I know I’ve heard it.
In the case of this particular song in this video though I don’t think it’s necessarily an ad, but part of a radio show playing a song parody it made itself. For example, in some parts of the US we celebrate Paczki Day (a Polish pastry IIRC, funnily enough), and I remember one station playing a parody of Hey Hey We’re the Monkees that was something to the effect of “We’re eating paczki! Paczki are goin’ around! And we’re too busy eating…” That’s all I can remember but it wasn’t super long anyway, and it cut to the radio hosts talking about Paczki Day, haha.

For for the first song, it's entirely possible that it could be recorded from a local TV station playing a local bands song. This was much more common back in the day, especially with Public Access TV stations. With Public Access it used to be (and still is) incredibly easy to get yourself a show (hence the name "public access") and I've known people who did just that to showcase local music and shit. Hell, there are small public access shows today in most major US cities that still show local music. For every band that makes it, there are hundreds that produce and release songs that don't ever go anywhere. Hell, I've found cds and cassettes at thrift stores of bands that have almost no internet presence before.

i also remember the lyrics “jupiter is watching me, jupiter is there, it’s looking over my every move…” the person singing it (probably female) had a really strong and loud but strained voice, like the person just had a battle with their larynx and that was all that was left, idrk how to explain it but it was a rock song

so, fast forward 6-7 years i think, my sister was participating in a play of the musical “9 to 5” and one of the songs had the SAME melody and everything, just not the lyrics but the meaning was practically the same, while watching the play i was having a mini existential crisis because goddamn, the song was basically the same thing and i SWEAR i have never heard that song in my life before watching the play. it still creeps me out

I have a feeling that "Light The Lanterns" will never be found. The reason behind my theory? Some people have noticed parallels between Light The Lanterns/Illumination Night with a book of that exact title: Illumination Night by Alice Hoffman.
That's a little strange how a mainstream song is about a Childrens' Book...
Along with that though, there has been no description given behind Light The Lanterns, which opens up the door of possibilities of where the song came from. I have a feeling that this song was made by a High School or College Student, released on only one singular Cassette, and locked in a school. The school probably liked it so much that they kept the Cassette Tape alongside with awards that the school cherished.
However, something that counteracts that thought is: if this Cassette Tape is somewhere in some school, locked behind a Glass Display Cabinet, then why is no one talking about it? Surely some student from that school would have followed through and confirmed the existence of the Cassette Tape along with the song. Food for thought.

Since then, people have been searching for not only the creator of the song but also the record label. There's a possibility that the last song mentioned was originally written in Japanese and then translated/rewritten into English. The word "tension" makes perfect sense in English here, but I hear it used even more frequently like this in Japanese. Most translators will leave the word "tension" alone in this case because it works and is literally the English word "tension" ( テンション ). Many short, obscure, direct to video (OVA) anime were made in the 80's and early 90's. Many of those were dubbed in English and it was much more common back then than it is now to also dub the song lyrics.
    It's just a hunch I have, but I believe it's worth investigating.

I find it amusing how everyone almost instantly pin it to anime. To me it sounds like a song that could be played during a Scooby Doo running sequence. Which I could imagine would also be hard to find considering the many different versions, as well as episodes, of scooby doo that existed even before 2006. Or for that matter, it doesnt even have to be limited to kids media. It also sounds like something that would be playing during idk a car race scene in a 70s-90s movie. Its worth remembering that weve kinda always had songs with slightly obscure lyrics, and if Grease wasnt such a popular movie, we'd probably also associate "greased lightning" as a kids media song for a car toy line or something similar (spare for a few nsfw lyrics in it lol). So its important to also not narrow down the age demographic, even if it sounds like a silly cartoon song :D

    • @xvgm24
      @xvgm24 Před rokem +9

That's a pretty cool possibility. Only thing that doesn't make me think it's the case is that even though テンション and tension are the same word, they have kinda different meanings between ENG/JP. She recorded an album called A Shining Crystal in 1987 but it never got released due to disagreements with her label. However the song was most likely already sent out to radio and TV stations as well as stores and other public places, which is how people claim to remember it. A similar thing happened with one of my favorite singers, Lana Del Rey, who recorded a song called Queen of Disaster in 2011. It was never officially released, but was leaked in 2013 and subsequently added to the music rotations of places such as stores and malls.

I'm actually trying to find a potentially lost song too, the only lyric that has stuck with me is "you broke the golden rule" but I remember the vocal delivery on that lyric was sort of drawn out, sung by a guy with that kinda typical early to mid 00s alternative/indie sound
I remember hearing it while in my dad's car sometime between 2005 and 2007, it would've played on either 88.7 (89X) or 93.9 as those were the two main alternative stations in my area and those stations liked to play a lot of local-ish music from time to time (I'm from Metro Detroit so either Detroit area or on the Canada side) which might explain why I haven't found a match when searching lyrics

They would play obscure music videos from around the world. I discovered so many random artists at the time. It might have been something aired in the US/Canada, but from another country entirely. I wonder if there’s a lead there 🤷🏻‍♂️

I could be wrong about the Everybody knows that song, but I don't think it's from a commercial. I feel like a lot of those comments of people saying "I remember this song from such and such commercial" are probably just people misremembering. The song sounds like a very typical pop song from the 80s so a lot of songs people have heard back then could sound like it. Also typically songs produced for commercials incorporate something to do with the brand in the lyrics. This song doesn't really give me a commercial jingle vibe at all. The lyrics of this song sound like an actual song that someone produced and the artist just never got signed on to a record label or became successful so their music wasn't preserved. There were shows that would air on tv that would feature obscure artists such as MTV Basements Tapes. It's possible the song could have came from a show like that. Either way I hope someone finds it because from the brief snippet that we can listen to it sounds like it would have been a very catchy song.

As a music lover this is my first time felts goosebumps knowing that Good sound of song for me has declared unidentified or i think unavailable to general public. I think the reason why the song have not been identified i think it's because of small chances of popularity and that's completely unfortunately to the author of composition, or it's already popular during his era.

This is just my two cents, but that second song sounds like a real official track that was released off an album. I can assure you, when the internet was new, a lot of people wanted to cash in on it in their music, maybe sometimes in weird ways or ways that show that they do not understand the internet at all... so, yeah, I'd believe it if some obscure band who was trying to sound cool made that song without realizing how creepy it sounds, or that 30 years down the line internet safety would be a much larger issue...

I've been into lostwave since mid 2021, and theres something about it that is so beautifal to me. Seeing songs without names, without known artists, is so terrifying yet amazing.
on a similar topic, you should cover some more lost songs, (That is, if you make a part 2) and here are some suggestions
"Stay (The second time around)/On The Roof "
The first mysterious song, this was a search that lasted 10 years, from 2003, to september 2013. This search is quite unknown, as it ended 10 years ago. But I feel like its search should get more coverage. As it came before all of the recent searches.
    "LWA19 (Lost wave augest 2019)"
A Somewhat unknown search, but what makes this special is that the audio quality is so damaged, that its really hard to make basically any "lyrics" to it.
    "My thoughts are never mine"
This is possibly going to be found within the year. This is a slow/melencholic song, with slow and somewhat depressing lyrics. Its somewhat believed that this comes from the mid 2000s to late 2010s. This is something I really want found, seriously.
If anyone has more suggestions please reply with them, I'd love to hear them!

I KNOW THIS SONG! I RECOGNIZE IT! It's from the 1997, July 13 promotion for the Saleen Mustang partnership, as the comment featured in the video. I didn't remember where the song was from so when i searched it up since my dad was humming to a song and I asked him what it was. He said he did'nt remember but he remembered two lyrics "counting on the blues in the bag" and "know that". I searched for this using google, then finally found something on youtube that sounded like it, until i checked the title. It was a "unknown song." I was determined to find it, and thus fell into a rabbithole of searching, but could'nt. so I was bored and clicked here. and when i saw the brand "Saleen" everything clicked. when i was a kid me and my parents would sit around watching TV and sift through channels during dinner. we stopped at a saleen ad, and i remember it slightly. there was a red car (mustang?) on the far right of the screen with the mcdonalds logo being on the top in a reddish pink backround above the car, and on the far left there was a big font lettering of "WIN" in gold and the same font but under the saleen that said "Instantly" in small to big text. I also remember there being under "WIN", "SPEEDSTERS", "AND OTHER DELUXE PRIZES" Thats all I really remember. the monopoly logo was also above the red car. I don't know if this helps at all but I wanted to spread some information if it helps at all!

in regards to everyone knows that, I go to concerts a lot and is fairly common for an artist to play a song that’s not yet been released and I wonder if a up and coming band got on a local tv station and decided to just that on a live tv performance and then never released the song. The band may still be around or at least survived another few years but either moved on to other types of music, remained pretty obscure or fell apart before it got famous. Also the community around these songs are a lot smaller than u think. If a band got together, made a couple songs and managed to get on tv the likelihood is they’d have no idea that this was on the internet
