He wrestled often in MLW with Davey Boy Smith Jr (Harry Smith) and Teddy Hart. Im surprised they didn’t mention Brian Pillman Sr being a Four Horsemen member, as it would have given another level to this match, background wise.

If Brian Pillman hadn't passed away when he did, he may have gotten as over as Stone Cold and The Rock. He was that damned charismatic and had such a compelling character. 2 decades after his passing, I still consider him one of my all-time favorites.
So of course I'm thrilled to see his son getting some breaks. IMHO, AEW needs to sign this kid and make a project out of him. He has all the tools to be a big star someday.

Pillman Jr. Is already a star. A rising star sure, but his run in MLW as part of the Hart Dynasty was fantastic. He had great matches, and was booked very strongly there.
@@burntvirtue I agree the New Hart Foundation is one of the best faction in prowrestling, the present of of Teddy Hart, Brian pilman Jr and DB Smith jr. they are naturally charismatic.

Honestly A Pillman Jr-MJF Feud needs to happen soon, both are pretty young with much potential and high possibility of giving the fans some great matches. I think they might have good chemistry together

Brian Pillman Jr. is definitely a diamond in the rough, but his matxh with Shawn Spears was impressive enough that I want to see more. Pillman Jr definitely has that same aggressive edge that his father had. I hope AEW signs him soon when he's freed up from MLW.

It's like watching a very raw Flyin' Brian Sr. in Stampede Wrestling. He just needs experience in matches with guys who know what they're doing. He's the future, that's for sure.
Shawn Spears didn't even need the Steel Slug to win the match. Brian Pillman JR proved he belong in the ring. Shawn Spears wins the match he's a remarkable talent.
This is my kind of wrestling. I wish AEW had more of this . More technical and slowed down. Not saying get rid of their other style , just more of this.

I started watching wrestling at 5 years old in 1986 when I saw Hulk Hogan on television. Brian Pillman is my all time favorite wrestler, there has never been anyone like him since. I hope his son great success.
Kid looks like his dad. He even wrestle a bit like his dad. He has potential and I can’t wait to see how far he goes.

This was a better match than most of the matches in Dynamite this week. No disrespect to Dynamite. But this was a great match. Classic: just two professionals, wrestling , taking it seriously.

I just noticed Frank is a ref on aew too.
A little something I enjoyed here was that neither guy kicked out of the others finisher. Too often I feel that guys lose some shine because their finish is undercut with a false finish that doesn’t need to happen until a bigger match.
I like Spears. Don’t know what kind of role he’d excel in long term but he’s a big guy by today’s standards and has a good look. (Enforcer type role with a group?)
Pillman Jr looks like his dad in early WCW years. Give him enough time and keep him away from some of the silly nonsense and you might have a big star down the line.
