Nobody gives cred to Nick for his abilities on the drums. He is quite good. This song proves it.
Some of the most praised and rated drummers rate him very highly,
I love seeing people’s reactions to this musical masterpiece, when Pink Floyd were around is when gods walked the Earth.
Geez, you guys are making me feel old. Wait, I am old! I was in my twenties when this came out.
#painintheask
Pink Floyd - Dogs. Off the masterpiece Animals. My favourite song of all time.
Possibly the greatest piece of music ever written? On the best album ever made? And, the lyrics? Wow.
You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to
So that when they turn their backs on you
You’ll get the chance to put the knife in.
Couldn't agree more my friend.
I think 'Meddle' and 'Wish You Were Here' are better... but DAMN you are right about this being a MASTERPIECE! Would love to see the entirety of Animals reacted to!
I will never argue with an opinion that thinks Animals is the best complete studio album in rock history..... if you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life... what better option could there be ???
Amending my #painintheask:
Pink Floyd - Animals. In its entirety.
@@HumayunQureshiafter all... it IS by far the best way to hear Animals for the first time... entirely and in order
One the most underrated drummers of all time.
Thank you. As much as I love metal. Pink Floyd is an experience every one should try. Definitely let her hear Comfortably Numb the Pulse version though.
You can’t go wrong with one the greatest ever psychedelic space rock songs. Many people class it as acid rock song.
One of my favorite pink floyd song is a rather unknown song from Ummagumma called Grandchester Meadows. Please take a listen. Great song.
Atom Heart Mother! Echoes! More! Obscured By Clouds!
Yes you should definately listen to. The entire dark side of the moon with headphones. Also listen to it syncd with the wizard of Oz
Yes. Dark Side of Oz! They have it tracked together on CZcams. Ftw!
I love you two kids! (I'm 58, so I can say that.) Carry on.
There is a movie that was released just after the album came out. There was no one in the seats...and so they were playing for the dead of Pompeii. David Gilmore was interviewed by an off camera voice that ask about the criticism that they (Pink Floyd) were to much into drugs and technology. Gilmore answered "No, I don't think so." the stage there would have been considered a bit over kill at the time. If you watch the video for "Comfortably Numb" the Pulse Consort, I'd guess if you asked the same question now, you would get a strange look, and the same answer.
You might react to Pink Floyd..."Comfortably Numb" live at Pulse and then compare it to the much earlier first Pompeii show.
I saw them, chemical inhansted, with about 250 or 500 of
my best friends at a concert at the University of Washington...Heck Edmondson Pavilion. At that time the had about the equipment that is on the stage at Pompeii, but with two sets of speakers at the back of the room...two more sets half way up each side of the room, and an engineer with a joystick that would run the sound of a beating heart around the room.to correspond to the flashing 2 police lights one in each base drum...oh and the first fog machine Is.ever been in. As I said initially, me and just a couple of friends made it easy for for me to get to the front of the stage where.when Roger ran of
Out of cigarettes, I was able to share my Pall Malls with he and
David.
Hey guys senior here, it was the climax song . . . in 1970s ough said brought many girlfriends to climax 100s listening to and Makin love
Careful with that axe Eugene represents the last moments of the people of pompeii!!,Mount vesuvius volcano eruption in 79AD!!.
Listening to Pink Floyd, particularly in the early 70's to 1982, brings you to a higher level of consciousness. Just don't listen to them on Acid. You may not come back.
Fucking yes. I was gonna request Careful with that ax from "ooma" umma gumma. Cheers.
This song has been widely known to be played at my funeral...
You can never go wrong with Floyd ..well as long as Rich will leave the buttons alone that is ...hehehe
BLASPHEMY!
@@michiganmagneto i know right ?
..but apparently he was having technical difficulties so i guess i'll let him slide ...THIS TIME !!
@@michiganmagneto THEY ARE NEWBIES ALSO SO IVE BEEN GOING EASY ON THEM '''hehehe
Saw them on Pulse tour. Rick had some technical issues there too. Lost it all. Good thing back up keyboardist was there. Roadies fixed issue in about 15 seconds. I didn't care. I was seeing Floyd. Live!
Have you seen David Gilmour's live final live performance of Echoes with Rick? Wow?
Talking about a blast of the past.😀. Last time i saw them live they played the whole "Dark side of the moon" album. Man that was awsome.😌
OK now you're taking it to a whole new level with Pink Floyd. The Floyd is by far my favorite band with my favorite guitarist in David Gilmour. I was lucky enough to see Pink Floyd back in 1994 in San Diego during their Division Bell tour.
you people just keep posting stuff right in my wheelhouse.... I wore out 2 copies of Ummagumma on vinyl before I was out of high school..... and it had actually occured to me that it would be cool to see kel's reaction to the vocals in GG …. what do you think her reaction to several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a pict would be ???
I say Sysyphus (Parts 1-4). ;)
@@TheSimonScowl Let's not forget The Narrow Way part 1-3, Granchester meadows and The Grand Viziers Garden Party (Part 1-3)
If you’re going to immerse her in Pink Floyd she has to know about Syd.
She would. He probably would.
It's a different experience when it's the 70's, you're stoned, and you hear that song for the first time through headphones. Not that I would know anything about that, mind you. ;-)
About what??
@@le7516 Not that I would know anything about listening to Floyd while stoned. My indirect way of saying I did exactly what I denied doing. :-)
@@appliedclinicalvr2359 I hear you!!
It's all good. We totally appreciate the music all the better. Lol.
Please check out Pink Floyd's live version of Comfortably Numb on the Pulse show. It is wonderful, amazing, emotional and very moving. Epic guitar solo as well!!
"Beautiful" oh yeah Kel gets it.
Gotta do dogs. The whole animals album is their best work imo
Nice! Floyd! Love the Pompeii 1972 show! Check “Childhoods End”, “Goodbye Blue Sky” or “Not Now John” next! ✌️🔥✌️
I once had some people over for drinks and decided to play 1) Days of Future Passed and 2) Dark Side of the Moon. Years later, people were still talking about my "Pink Floyd party."
I have the perfect Pink Floyd reaction for you.... #PainInTheAsk #FloydInTheAsk #FeelinIt
"One of These Days" from the 'Meddle' album. I blew speakers out to that song.
Loved this as a kid... still do... I realized why your channel is so good and entertaining.... Its so awesome to see 2 people who REALLY GET the music and appreciate it and ENJOY it and get caught up in it, like i do and all true music freaks do!!!...lol... Thats why i love this channel so much, so refreshing to see reactions like this!!!... Keep up the great work!!!
When this was done it was a single take and she had never heard it before. She was asked to just vocalize in and around the music. Imagine doing this on first hearing in one take and the talent that takes.
Not quite. She listened to it first, wasn’t sure what they wanted, but once she understood that they wanted her to use her voice as an instrument she recorded two-and-a-half takes. The released version is compiled from all three takes.
Love your videos by the way. Great reactions
Lol! I love the expression on Kel's face, like "what the f!@k is going on here?!?" Lol
I just decided to change my ring tone to Symphony Of Destruction, because what's the worst that could happen. Love the reviews. This is a HOF song that took 3 different singers to sing while on tour. Pink Floyd had produced more simplistic music, that we can't deny is great, than any other band in blahzy zee blah blah. Love what you love!
I love Great Gig also. Especially off of Pulse. And yes headphones are how your supposed to hear music.
She sings the hell out of it! The second half of the Deftones song Knife Party always reminds me of this song.
I never said i was afraid of dying
I enjoyed watching this sooooo much. Thank you.
Ah yes...old Floyd . Such variety , especially compared to GGITS....prog is awesome. It will always be my #1 genre.
So....new drum . Anathema . "Thin Air"
An interesting cover of a Pink Floyd song would be "Welcome to the Machine" covered by Shadows Fall. Awesome guitar solos replace the synth solo that happens in the original. You'll love it, I promise. #PainInTheAsk #PainInTheFloyd
"No, I'm not frightened of dying. Any time will do. Why should I be frightened of dying? There's no reason for it. You gotta go sometime." And "I never said I was afraid of dying"
Those are the two quotes in the song.
EPICA - KINGDOM OF HEAVEN LIVE. You simply have to. Absolutely amazing, their best performance. Nightwish are my favourite but this song is EPIC!
As soon as I heard the piano I said “so beautiful “ then K said “so beautiful “. Yeah. You’ve heard this. Glad y’all share this.
I want what you two have. Seeing you enjoy music together as a couple so much is inspiring. Cheers.
Thank you so much for your heat-felt comment. We hear you and appreciate you.

Echoes from Live From Pompeii is one y my absolute all time favorites!
Studio version, with headphones, is best way for first time hearing. The intentional layering and sculpting.
Clayton V Dave Gilmore of the scale on that
Cracking one this! The Floyd's music has just as much power as many metal bands have. Enjoyed this very muchly. 😁
Careful with that Axe is soooo The Doors, I Love it!
Listen to 'Hey you' followed by 'is there anybody out there'. It'll blow your knackers off.
i bought the relics album at school in about 75 from someone we did the deal in the library this was 8 years after it came out but give us a break i was only 8 when it came out!
Oh god The Great Gig in the Sky always get me in tears. I love music more than anything but I'm pretty aware that there's just a couple songs that can get me that emotional. This is one of those and the other one I want to suggest it for a new reaction vid if any of you are not familiar with it: "Led Zeppelin - Since I've Been Loving You". It takes me back to those years with the love of my life, my beautiful gypsy redhead piece of heaven. This was the first song on our mixtape and I want to share it with you #painintheask
Hey Kel, hey Rich!
I really love to watch your faces discovering my favotite music! Thank you very much for that!
There is a lot of Tool to discover like Wings for Marie + 10000 days or Lost Keys + Rosetta Stoned.
Can’t wait. Coming soon! Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and comment. ❤️🔥🤘👍🏼
Saluti da Pompei (Napoli)
One take just sublime
Great movie and unexpected shooting.
That scream is probably why Roger's voice is pretty much shot nowadays...
`Fun Facts. This concert had no concert-goers just the crew and a few guests.
This is the best version of this song you could have chosen . thanks.
And its so cool you welcome us all into your home like this to enjoy the musical experiences with you!!!... Keep up the great stuff guys!!!... iwill throw a suggestion... just look INTO Powerwolf, just out of curiosity, youre gonna love it and be very amused... theyre werewolves that fight for the Lord!!!...lol... thats their shtick, its fantastic!!!...lol
brilliant song: Eugenics: a set of beliefs and practices that aim to improve the genetic quality of a human population......and the PF took it that to this song as a warning....hats off...bows and all
powerful music, dangerously powerful
For you two and any fans here who'd be interested, here's a funny story about this sequence in the film, from Albert Mongoolie, who roadied for Floyd that I found on the "A Fleeting Glimpse" Floyd site on the web some time ago. HILARIOUS stuff to read!:
Picture this; I’m hanging around ancient ruins while Pink Floyd plays a concert to an ampitheatre jam-packed full of no people. How much do you think there was for me to do?
Dead right. Not a lot.
So to amuse myself I, & a guy called Brian (I think he was Road Manager or something) found these long, slender, hollow reeds nearby which made great pea-shooters. We’d shoot seeds or tiny little stones. The distance and accuracy we could achieve with them was quite remarkable.
Eventually it came time to record and film Careful With That Axe, Eugene. Not many people would be aware that this piece was actually recorded in Paris. By this stage we’d already packed up and left Pompeii. But Brian and I had kept our pea-shooters, and brought them along to the “shoot” ( which it became quite literally ). Although neither of us dared show Roger, knowing he’d probably want to confiscate them.
Everything was set up for filming, and once Floyd started Careful With That Axe, Eugene, Brian and I quietly pulled out our pea-shooters and lined up various targets. The music was building up, but just as Roger started saying the “Careful with that axe, Eugene” bit, Dave moved out of camera, motioned us over and said “I’ll shout you guys supper tonight if you can hit Roger in the head.”
We didn’t realise Dave had noticed what we were doing, though it was clear Roger hadn’t. Brian and I mulled over the idea for a second or two, wondering if we should dare, but very quickly decided yes we should!
Brian had the first shot. Roger was moving around a bit doing all his blood-curdling screams, and the shot missed by a whisker. Then it was my turn. I waited until the screaming bit was over, and as Roger eased back doing some softer vocal sounds I had my go.
ZIIINNNNGGG! The shot got him in the side of the head*.
He lurched back suddenly, then quickly glanced over his shoulder at the other guys as if to say, “Did you see that? I think I just got hit by an insect!” Rick noticed something had happened, though Dave remained so cool that you’d never even know he saw Roger get hit. But as soon as the light was turned off him Dave moved out of shot again and said, “What will it be? I hear there are some good French restaurants around these parts.”
*If you have Pompeii on video you’ll see it, but you won’t find the incident on the Director’s Cut on DVD, as it was replaced by extra footage of flowing lava ( thanks a lot, Adrian ). However it is still there on the “Original Concert” on the DVD, which is great because you can zoom in and see Roger’s reaction a bit more clearly. ( You’ll find it immediately after the shot of lava that looks like a glowing red fork ).
Btw, Rick does notice, and you can see him looking up at Rog. HA HA
Here's the link for more, that I think you'll have fun reading! I sure did! Hilarious stuff throughout!

#painintheask ANATHEMA - Untouchable parts I and II. That's a band for Floyd lovers and those two songs are just emotionally amazing.
Now that you are reacting to Floyd,You Must Do Them All!
Great reactions. It almost goes without saying, but I do hope you will do Echoes soon.
Hey guys, if you're into symphonic metal you should listen to Angra. Angra is a Brazilian band which the lead guitar player is Kiko Loureiro (who is playing in Megadeth nowadays).
I would recommend start with their earlier work:
Angels cry
Carry on
Cheers
I don't mean to be greedy, but if you are in a PF mood , Riverside's "Escalator Shrine" is perhaps their most Floyd song. If you ever do it ( from Spotify) also do " Coda" which comes right after. It's 1:39 long , and caps off Escalator Shrine perfectly ( they really do go together)... For one of Piotr Grudzinski's most Gilmore moments, check out "Found( The Unexpected Flaw Of Searching), a very beautiful ballad from the album "Love Fear And The Time Machine"
Greetings Kel and Rich. I enjoying watching Kel listening, for the first time to the prog rock I grew up with.
Both Sid Barrett and Roger have the middle name Eugene. A guitar is often referred to as an "Axe".
You probably can't find much of the Pink Floyd Album "Obscured By Clouds" on youtube .
At the beginning of The Great Gig the man says, "I'm not afraid of dying".
Another great choice of music. If you are going in a Prog direction, please give Camel a try. Lady Fantasy from the Mirage album would be a perfect track to start with.
Those first few bars.............. Pure bliss X❤️X
Here's challenge. I noticed you don't do classical music but check this one: Ludvig van Beethoven "Moonlight Sonata" played by 19yo Polish guitar virtuoso. All the best from Norway, Have a happy life.
If you like this, try Hello Earth by Kate Bush on headphones. Also, please look into Blue October. The main singer, Justin Furstenfield sings from his heart. You can hear it in his voice. Looking forward to all of your new experiences. I love sharing music but most of my friends and family are sick of me trying to push my likes on them. :) Keep it up!
ARTILLERY - BOMBFOOD.
If you listen to PF's earlier albums, you can hear snippets that they incorporated into The Wall. The bass line at the beginning is familiar, as is some of the parts from Echoes. It's amazing how they sort of tie all their music together, yet it's all so different.
The live version of this song "GGig In The Sky" is something you have to see
Thanks for the video.
Now that you have the video playing in the corner please watch Rush YYZ live in Rio
Great tunes.
Headphones are a must! Oh, and I envy your relationship 😊
One o my faves!
Very good choice.. Imagine what it was in the days, that music (Carefull...) just came out .. I was a kid, then...
Now you are getting onto prog I hope you'll be doing King Crimson,Yes and early Genesis at some stage.Good work guys!
celestial voices ,is a great track including their early tracks .
The scream on Ummagumma is way more intense. It will have you jump out of your chair.
Be civil, non of that loving thing here..damn it!
thanks
There's a band you should check out called Electric Six. Check out either "Danger! High Voltage" or "I'm the Bomb" by them.
The Amazing scream channeled through special effects . .
You gotta check out OSI's cover of Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun by Pink Floyd. It's pretty cool 😁 Kevin Moore and Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater are in the band. Some of Portnoy's best drumming in that song too imho.
Thanks for that tip. Love Floyd; love O.S.I.; never knew they covered that.
Can’t find it c.Can you help with the link please
I Want that shirt!!!!!
The voice is saying, "I never said I was frightened of dying". It could be Linda McCartney, as it's an American accent, and it's rumored that she and Paul were in and out of Abbey Road at the time. I also think it's her saying "crusin' for a brusin'" in Money.
The early songs include some of the most perfect pop ever committed to vinyl
Respecto a Great Gig in the sky. Hay que disfrutarlo como ustedes lo hacen. Saludos!
