After some discussions about how bad the grenade drops are on the PS4 Version of RE4, Gustavo requested that I try for the PS4 HUNK Village World Record, as the old one stood at only 193k. Given the lack of grenade drops, 193k was still impressive but we were both sure better could be done.
I had to change a lot of the usual HUNK tactics and even reworked the 2nd chest to balance out the conservation of grenades and killing speed. After a couple hours of 200k pace runs dying to lack of time and grenades, I finally got a lucky break and got this run.
The RNG Gods finally blessed me with a random grenade drop at the end of the 1st chest then another at the start of the 2nd chest. That was all I needed to guarantee 124 kills and semi-decent chests.
In total, I used 15 grenades in this run. For a max score run, HUNK needs 23 grenades!
Unfortunately, for PS4, HUNK high scores are entirely luck based. You're at the mercy of the very poor drop-rate for grenades, so I don't see this score being beaten easily, even though it certainly can be.

It always impresses me to watch these highly optimized runs - like a choreographed theater performance almost, as opposed to the vague (or very real when chainsaws were present) sense of dread you had when you first played the game and had to fight these villagers.
That's the trick isn't it? Making the ganado fear you instead ;)

Damn, 202,000 points? I always end up getting around 100K when I play this mode as Hunk. That must have required insane amount of practice. Major respect for that 😎👍
Thanks, my record for HUNK is 205,300 on PC, due to PS4's poor grenade drops, this was around the best I could do for this version.
I’ve just reached 103 kills in a row and I scored 150k. Only 6 bella sisters shows up now, nothing more than that, and I managed to get them killed while scoring with the golden chests… I think the new versions are kinda different now.
Sarco again providing us with "Lore Accurate Gamaplay" once again, you're single handely making me feel interested in RE4 just by watching how well your runs turn out to be, Kudos from Brazil!

It's brilliant to see how mesured you have everything, you know what's happening and what's going to happen, I just to do some sort of route, but I mostly rolled with what I had in front.
Best I did back in the day was 140k or 160k don't recall, as Hunk :p on GC.

I had some solid runs yesterday but kept dying :(. I almost hit 128,000 with 2mins 12 seconds left yesterday but got surrounded with combo raising and dealing with two chainsaws immediately before getting hung up on in wall into a third chainsaw sister. It was a valiant attempt at a save. I can’t wait for re4master’s merc mode.so far my best non death score has been 122ish with ada. Been focused on just getting back into mercs. I want to say my best non posted scores due to dying with 7 seconds left on castle was 158,000 with ada and I think it’s why I rage quit this game last time if I remember correctly. Anyway, awesome run man.

The trick is learning the routes and enemy spawns so you know what to expect. Then from there it's all about practice.

Try to get the biggest combo world record
The bonus points from the combo don't change after the 10th kill. The key to WR is in the bonus chests.

The main differences between the PS4 and PC 60fps versions are the load times and the ammo drops. On PS4, main weapon ammo and rifle ammo drops a good 90% of the time, whereas on Steam 60fps, it's more balanced between ammo and grenades.
Hence why I can easily get 205k with HUNK on Steam, but getting 202k on PS4 was a struggle.

Por mas que intento no paso de 161,200 en ps2 con hunk llego a aproximaciones como 151k o 147k pero no logro hacerlo posible

TRY IT ON THE PS2 THO. Still pretty awesome.
I can get 60k/5 stars on PS2 in 2 minutes flat with HUNK on Village (no timers) and can unlock the Handcannon in an hour only.
202k might be too difficult on PS2 due to there being less enemies, but I can get an equivalent score easily enough.
@@Sarcosuchas true. The enemies are few and the spawn times aren't the same. The character takes more time to turn/aim/shoot as well. I just got 127862 on PS2 with hunk and I'm trying to beat my own record. ES MUY DIFICIL

WR, really? Does that mean the PS4 version is even more broken than I previously imagined?
On most runs in Village, HUNK won't get any grenade drops at all. I was exceptionally lucky to get 2 in this run. So yeah, for Village it's terrible.

@@orpsageff1433 Check my spawn guide. There's a glitch on the 60fps versions of the game which mean that 5 enemies don't spawn unless you jump through the window and grab the timer like I did in this video.

38 grenades thrown lol leads to a 200K hmmmm....sounds pretty cool ya know i was hoping ya throw 50 instead heh wouldnt be surprised if ya did that.
Hunk pulled a different MO from how I would have played but otherwise it's awesome. Hitting the 200K mark🙂
I threw 15 in this run which led to 202k.
23 grenades are needed for a max score run though
