Just out of the cinema, i found the movie to be .... Fine. As you mentioned, had good concepts and could have looked impressive but everything seemed phoned in. The SFX were middling but still better than The Flash. Was hoping for a better post credit scene, something similar to the end of The Avengers with Cavil, Affleck, Gadot and Momoa sitting around having a beer, celebrating Arthur's announcement at the end of the film. Would have been a nice send off/visual for the DCEU
I really appreciated your perspective about Amber Haeard. I feel the same. Her very essence makes my skin crawl. I desperately wanted to support Jason though. He deserves much better.

After watching the Flash movie I can honestly say that I had low expectations for the Aquaman 2 film, I also really liked the first Aquaman movie but just like with Marvel the content they put out seems to go from bad to worse, I don't have much hope that it will get better anytime soon.
This all literally feels like the last Xmen movie that came out where the cast was promoting it but news already broke Disney was buying fox and a reboot was coming. Just a complete dead on arrival and I find it ironic Zack Snyder has a movie releasing the same weekend his Snyderverse is ending.
I just saw it. The first one was better and this wasn’t a groundbreaking movie but I really had a nice time watching it. It’s not a good send off for the snyderverse but a nice way to tie up his run as aquaman

They shouldnt have made the announcement that james gunn was taking over & this universe was done so soon shoulda waited till this final film was out then done the announcement like 6 months later hard to care for movies whne we know its all getting canned cause blue beetle was fun & full of heart that and amber turd still being mera
I’m seeing it Sunday, got free tickets so if it sucks so be it. I gotta say though my thought going in is it is likely a huge step down from the first one, leans too much into the humour etc

Everyone blaming the movie and James Wan for not making the end a good closing to the DCEU and all being excited for the new universe of James Gunn.... tttsss That is James Gunn fault if the movie as to go through so many reshooting, and cutting up, and deleted scene. That piss me of... he sould have let the movie be what it was suppose to be since the beginning. He ruin it, want it to failed ! And we should have confidence in him for the next Universe !! 🤣WB didn't even make efforts to promote the movie, no red carpet, no big event (a lot of people didn't even know the movie was coming)... and now it's 378millions at the box office, imagine if there was promotion to it !! And all the bad reviews (probably writting before the movie hit theater)... everything was put in place to make the movie a flop !! But seriously I can't understand why wanting to do that ! That is ridiculous and unfair for people who was really invested in the movie (actors, crew, etc) ! People should learn to be a little more impartial, maybe the world would turn out better. Wanting to make a film sink just because you decided to... pfff.🙄

Then the mismanaged after BvS that gave us Josstice league. We did have some great movies like WW, Aquaman, MoS, BvS ultimate and ZSJL. Just second guess the man they hired to build their universe doomed it. Hope James Gunn fairs better. We shall see.

I have not and will not see that movie - not with HER in it. You dodged the subject for the most part, and I know people are tired of it, but keeping her in the movie was a huge mistake. Her presence, her comments about cast and crew, her dragging the movie into the court damaged this film and still they kept her in it. Horrible decision all around.
She tried so hard to bring herself up by putting others down. So much drama with this person and I can’t believe they kept her in there with a bigger part than what they tried to tell us from the previews. Big no for me. Maybe I’ll stream it for free

I have my own feelings on that which I won’t get into too much. Suffice to say, Amber’s problems with Johnny Depp became very public and ruined her reputation. Regardless, I have always supported her in this role because no matter what I think she has been a credit to Mera. She plays the character well and I will be seeing the movie with hopes that it finishes this version of the Queen of Atlantis and Aquaman’s story. I’m excited to see her back and am happy she gets a significant role. Whether you like her or not, the character she plays is central to Aquaman’s story and I would’ve been disappointed if she didn’t play a big part in what is a film centered on family. Moreover, the movie probably also suffered from reshoots and a lot of changes in the wake of the original plans for it being destroyed after James Gunn took over. That is really unfortunate but at least we got to see Mamoa’s Arthur and Heard’s Mera one last time. Honestly, the supposed problems of the film have not deterred me from wanting to see it. But I suspect they never would have because I’ve been looking forward to this thing from the start and am just happy to see the cast return and Wan get a change to put a conclusion to his story. Thank you.
