Well, I believe this is a consequence of the screenwriters' strike in 2023. How else can one explain that on an $80 million budget movie, the screenplay was written by three people, two of whom had only worked on the same five movies throughout their entire careers (the highest-rated of which scored 6.2 on IMDb), while the third writer was last credited for a movie script in 2004 (with this being only his fourth credited script in his entire career)? It's not just that they scraped the bottom of the barrel; they dug up a second Kola Superdeep Borehole under that barrel, only to realize they hadn't even reached halfway down to these guys.

Since this movie is like the plot from the terminator movie then they should have make it like the plot from the terminator movie. They cast Emma Roberts as Mary Parker Spider-man mom and they are not going to used her. What's the point of casting Mary Parker if she won't be used for the whole movie. And Instead of the spider girl's in the movie it would have been young Ben, Richard, and May helping Madame Web protecting Mary Parker from Ezekiel who wants to kill Spider-man before he's even born. Maybe in the third act somehow the portal is open from the future and we see Spider-man maybe Tom Holland Spider-man go through the portal and stop Ezekiel from killing his family. Would the movie have been better with a better more experience writer sure. Sony must be trying to make movies or series out of these spider girl's characters and this is how they would like to introduce them. Not a good debut for these characters to appear on the big screen for the first time.
I think it is funny how Holly Wood has changed from making good entertaining movies to making crap for the new industry of knocking crappy movies. It is amazing how many channels like this one there are. I am grateful for the warnings!
As I said on 3C's review...what I'm struggling to understand most is that with pretty much absolutely no connections to any other Spider-Man or Spider-Adjacent movies, Sony or otherwise...why is it set in 2003? Like, there was effort to make it seem like 2003. But why go through the hassle?

When I saw that I immediately looked for the full trailer and was not impressed. I'm just gonna wait for it to come out on Amazon or something and rent it.

I didn't hate this movie like everyone else did, but the idea of this movie is worse than the actual movie. It's a 2 hour origin story...nobody wants to see that. If it had been 1 hour of origin, and then 1 hour of action with the girls in their costumes doing superhero stuff, I think it would have been a good movie. I've definitely seen worse movies though.
I've been saying there's been too many characters since the first trailer. I like the Terminator theme but do you really need a babysitter watching over a class of teenagers? Sony really just can’t do good with Spider Man related movies except for the Tom trilogy which was great and the masterpieces that are ITSV and ATSV
