We knocked on the door of this home and realized it was vacant, so we asked the neighbor about it. She said that she hasn't seen anyone living there since she moved in. We decided to start mowing the yard since it looked so bad and about halfway through the yard we started to hear yelling! I turned around and the neighbor was yelling out of her window, trying to figure out what was going on and who we were. We were able to explain to her what we were trying to do but she wasn't to happy and actually didn't want us to continue the job. This was a first for us and was definitely an interesting interaction. Thanks for watching!

I like your channel. Maybe write a letter and explain. Maybe she will have you back. Hope and pray your not in trouble.

Thank you for your kindness. Regardless of what that woman said you did a beautiful job. It’s really sad that there are so many abandoned houses throughout the country. And so many homeless people available.
Was thinking the same thing
There are so many goodhearted young people out there doing this kind of thing. Even in Australia we've got a few on youtube doing these free clean ups. I feel for them when they get neighbours complaining about noise etc., and being told it's not worthwhile. The thing is that abandoned buildings and messy yards invite vermin, vandalism and squatters. And yes it would be great if they could be used for housing for the homeless, depending on who, if anyone, owns these properties.
The lady didn't understand fully the free service you were offering, so sad you didn't complete the entire yard, but Awesome job on the front. Thank you so much for your help!❤
Totally agree the homeless would be able to fill up those abandoned houses buildings and apartments 💯✌️
Some abandoned homes would be wonderful as group homes for our many homeless veterans .
some people don't understand, no matter their age, that it is so much more pleasant for all when yards are mowed and trash is picked up. A yard doesn't have to have beautiful landscaping or a fancy house to be pleasant to look at. Even a biweekly mow and making sure there is no standing water go a long way for the neighbors to be able to appreciate their own yards more. Thank you for caring about your community and teaching your boys the value of a job well done😊
You gracefully tried to help. Often extreme elderly have different thought processes to multiple issues. Nice you respected her wishes

Exactly what I was thinking. It's too bad. No one is living in that house and giving it life again. These guys have such big hearts. That lady really lost out. Sometimes holding on to something thinking is valuable. It rots, and then there's no value. I think that's where this lady is at.

To me, there’s nothing more satisfying than seeing a truly horrible looking yard get cut, trimmed and all the overgrown smaller trees hauled away; you guys are amazing. It’s a shame the lady couldn’t understand that. Thanks for trying 😊.

To me, that was a lady who had given up and didn't trust others. She may never, but we can pray that one day her heart will be freed up. Great job guys, keep it going.

The property was her mother's. Sometimes it doesn't matter if you own it now or not, you somehow feel the need to control what was your mother's. Crazy but true! I love what you do and why you do it. I'm also loving that your boys are learning it from you!
Sometimes elderly people don't understand. So, when someone buys the property they will clean it up. It's sad but kerp doing what you're doing. Peace and Blessings!!!
Apparently that lady owns the property. She commented that her mother had lived there. My thought is that once this lady passes or gets put into a nursing home by her family then both properties will probably be sold off.

It doesn't matter if it's a fancy neighbourhood or not - everything looks better with a spruce up. I've seen posh parts of towns with carefully manicured lawns, but there's often that one house where everything looks overgrown and neglected - sometimes due to illness or financial distress, and it tends to spoil the look of the street. I commend you on your efforts, patience and tact.👍

Boy, that’s something trying to make her property next-door to look nice and she doesn’t want you there. You probably woke her up from a nap and she got out of the wrong side of the bed. You and your boys are doing a great job doing what you do continue.

She probably has a diagnosis of dementia or Alzheimer’s. She shouldn’t be left along
It is her property. Mowing or do anything to someone's property without permission is trespassing. She doesn't need approval from anyone to say no.
From her slow speech I think she may of had a stroke in the past.
May have affected her understanding also.

Thank you for being so kind to her. I am a caregiver and I work with a lot of elderly people and some of them no matter what you do you can please them and you just have to bite your tongue. But you and Ty did a great job.

I'll bet she was afraid of what you were doing. Elderly and suspicious of someone doing something out of kindness. Many things advise the elderly to be on their guard and beware of strangers, just like we tell our kids. That's our world now.

Not to defend her, but she sounds old and I'm sure has many memories of her mother being there. That generation had a hard time asking or accepting help. Thank you for what you and your sons do to help people. You are teaching them a very valuable lesson and they also need to know some people aren't as gracious as others.

Fear of change, instant change, grips many elderly people... they will watch the property deteriorate over years with no problem - but to see it change, even for the better in a day?!?! they don't trust instant results.
Bless her heart ... I totally get where she's coming from. She didn't know who you were or why you were there, even after you tried to explain. I'm sure she's leary of strangers and their true intentions, and doesn't trust anyone around her property. Right off, there was instant charm. Working on "the biggest area" can do wonders and mowing the front, and the clean looking cut on the house, looked nice. 2:33 Good job Ty getting the seedling trees along the house so they won't be breaking the foundation. (The utility people would also thank you for clearing the meter area.) Looked to be a chilly day. Good work being done. Noted you cleared the handicap ramp. I think it is important to note "stuck" places in an area and if possible do something to get it rolling again. Thank you.

Little Lady sounds like her mind is working slowly. Reminds me of my Mom, when simple conversations became difficult. You are kind and you are not going to make much sense speaking to something that think correctly any longer.

She was old and probably upset that sshe no longer had any say on her Mothers old property. If she did not own it I would have stayed and finished cleaning for the good of the neighborhood. She probably will wonder why you did not finish! You keep on giving blessings.
Great job Dad and Ty! The neighbors don’t have to look at the over-growth. Seems strange that her mother lived next door but she didn’t own it. Probably a back-story to it. Maybe she’s upset she didn’t get the property b/c normally it is passed down to the children and she wasn’t the one to inherit it. Oh, well.

Unfortunately in our world today, random acts of kindness are far less common than scams and crime. When somebody tries to do something nice, it is often met with suspicion. If we all tried to be more kind and offer help to each other regularly, this wouldn't be the case. Keep doing what you do Blessing Boys!

I cannot believe this woman's attitude that she wants the neighborhood to look rundown and doesn't care about how the rest of the neighbors might feel. From her voice, she seems quite elderly and probably likes her isolated life. I hope one of the neighbors says something to her and helps her understand how others feel and that their feelings count here. ❤️👍🇺🇲

I would probably mention fire hazard next time. amazing how hard your kids work alongside you. they seem to give up a lot of their own time to be with you to do this You're teaching your children some incredible values they will take with them for the rest of their lives. they don't seem to complain either. they seem like they're enjoying it.
Many elderly are afraid of change and when a next door property was family owned then there is also the sentimental issue and control fear of change again.I helped an elderly friend for years and they want their independence and right of choice even if we do not see it to be a betterment for them.

My view is she is probably an elder who has some fear toward other people in general. She may not understand how the grass grows, or she is using the growth of grass to hide from others. Whatever the case, you were very kind and explained it well !
