Awesome Jess good job.
Thank you!
Jess, Stoner Tar and Sap Remover
I buy it at harbor freight works great.
Thank you!!
Hi jess . Up here in vt we have pine trees everywhere. I'm constantly removing sap . What I have found that works best for me is 1) malco sap , surface and paint prep , melts it off . 2) denatured alcohol, works good but takes a bit more effort. 3) stoners works well as also . Good video. Not many go over sap removal. Ty
Thanks for the suggestions! I’m in CT so I hear that up in VT!
you should try eulex , it removes everything by chemical action , it s made for dissolving all kinf of stuffs on a paintwork you will hardly need the platic blade anymore, you just have to avoid plastic trims et rinse after. For plastic trims i use a non solvant based tar remover like the carpro or gyeon .My bottle of eulex lasts a long time because i keep it for tree sap and also paint transfers.I started my mobile buisness in february and i like to watch your interior detailing vids. great job
Thanks so much! I have heard great things of Eulex! The struggle with being mobile is keeping every single product on hand at all times 😂
Don’t no about anyone else but I like to go through the wash process- foam, rinse, foam wash then use the citrus orange , dry then attend the rest. Sometimes just power washing it off can do the trick and it’s touchless. If they have recently had it waxed as well it will blast off real easy. Have a customer who will park it under a tree and went back for the second wash after treating it and came off really easy with a wash
Oh nice! Good to know! That’s why I love a good protectant - to make it easy to get the tough stuff off.
Awesome video since I just had to do some sap recently
Thank you!
Eulex is good, but I found on some clear coats and plastics its can kind of mess it up ( requiring a light polish after ) I use Acetone or Lacquer Thinner and use the same steps as you did minus the plastic razor step. Any tree sap jobs I come across I always polish with a light polish/sealant. Makes for a great upsell and makes the vehicles really pop.
That is a good upswell!
Looks awesome Jess
Thank you as always!
@@DetailWithJess keep up the good work
Isopropyl alcohol can remove tree sap but DIY Detail Tree Sap Remover seemed to do a better job. Worked really well..
Nice! The IPA took it off with no effort, so no complaints there, but I’m always down to know what works better!
Yea, I found the soft sap came off easily with IPA but the hardened stuff came off easier with DIY Detail’s sap remover. Have fun and keep up the good work! It’s fun to watch someone building their business.
If you want a stronger product than IPA, another cheap but good wallmart product is stoners tar and sap remover. Just make sure the paint is cool and a little wet so it doesnt flash dry in the sun.
Thanks so much!
That plastic razer was smartz probably cuts the dwell time over half when using a sap remover..
It definitely helped a lot with getting the majority gone. Reduced the mess by a bit!
Tiner o solvent
Solvent x by p&s works well also, on the tough areas you can also soak a section of a towel and place it over the sap to soften or use steam. A regular blade can also be used on glass. Great job. You will encounter all types of sap in this business, the more methods you have up your sleeve the better. Keep up the good work 👏
Thanks so much, appreciate the tips!
I like citrol orange
I will agree citrol works really good, I was just using to remove sap today
Someone else mentioned that as well!
+1 for Eulex. Isopropyl alcohol does a pretty good job though too, and it’s much easier to obtain if you don’t have a detail supply shop around the corner.
Eulex sounds great. Yeah, I’m in the country…there’s definitely no detail shops around here so I have to order everything.
Quick tip for next time Jess, use a alcohol hand sanitizer gel to treat each spot. The gel allows you to let it soak on it longer since it wont evaporate as fast. Should come off like butter after that. You did amazing regardless.
Oh yeah! I heard about the hand sanitizer…now it makes sense, thanks!
Great work Jess. Informative as always. Thanks for the tips
Glad it was helpful!
What's the best car wash soap, and car shine?
I am definitely not the person to tell you what’s the “best”, all I know is what I use and honestly, my clients aren’t concerned about shine and I’m more concerned about protection. All’s I can say is what I use which is P&S Pearl and Gyeon Wet Coat for a sealant.
Great job. Sure Eulex will remove sap but if rubbing alcohol works it way cheaper. May be worth having it or Tea just in case.
What’s the tea thing?? I have heard about it but didn’t quite get it.
@@DetailWithJess Essentially a weaker version of Eulex.. still a solvent.
Chemical guys butter wet wax says it can remove sap.
Nice, thanks!
Hand sanitizer
I couldn’t figure out why hand sanitizer for the longest time, I get it now 🙌🏻
@@DetailWithJess Chris fix had a video about it i thought that was pretty good in a pinch.
