Loved how he described Warlord saying "Barb, I'm a big man and I was never scared of anything but now I'm scared"
Chuck Norris wears Haku pyjamas
They sell those?
I always loved the Barbarian. He was a big strong guy that could move like a small man. He should have been a lot more popular than he was.
Me too as a kid he had the look the slick curly hair i remember they were teasing a face turn during the early 90s the fans were behind him during his match with Hercules
@@krlm2280 I actually just watched that match last month. 😄 You're right the fans were rooting for him.
well he was popular back in the days of Powers of Pain days !
This. Totally under-rated performer.
The barbarian is my uncle his real name is Sione
HE WON'T PUT HIS NOSE IN ANYONE BUSINESS EVER AGAIN.....👮🏽👍🏽
Bum bum tiss! 🥁🥁🥁
😂
😂🤣😂🤣
He was a little too nosy
😂😂
Like most legit tough guys, Barbarian seems very chill and humble. Aside from a couple times on WWF 80s interviews, this is the first time hearing Barb talk.
i suppose all the wrestlers can speak, while in character in the business i don't think they were suppose to then !
These stories of Haku from other wrestlers telling them are so intriguing i think there should be a book on Haku's career and bar stories
Haku was my first boss at a Toyota dealer washing cars
Such an amazing guy I love Tonga
The first person who said he wasn't there
Haku was being a gentlemen.. some people are just that stupid.
Met Barbarian a few years ago at a wrestling convention. He was so nice.
So there were 30-35 wrestlers drinking beer at the bar that night. No wonder so many wrestlers claimed to have witnessed Haku biting that guy's nose off
Nobody though has been in as many places as X-Pac
@GRap TheGOAT 🤣
@mashuganah vinny 🤣
Some idiots never learn. Don't mess with someone who's not messing with you or anyone else. leave the quiet ones alone.
The nose biting incident happened on June 26th 1988 at the Safari Club in Baltimore. The name of the poor chap who got his nose bitten off is Warren Brent Cooper. Haku was sued for $1.1 million and lost a lot of money. It's in the news, look for it. It happened just weeks after Haku was coronated as King Haku in WWE, and unfortunately the incident ended his push.
He ain't no poor chap, he a jackass asking a dragon for some gold
I don't believe that because in those days every one in the locker room would have backed.that up
1.1 million?!?!?!? Maybe 100, 000 for that nose he started.
You're friend shouldn't have been a tough guy then. Lol 😁
What you mean p😊por cha0 he was warned 3 times he’s a racist piece of trash
Those island guys, what legit tough people. It amazes me how Barbarian,Haku/Meng and other wrestlers who seemed like monsters who would eat your kids are very soft spoken and laid back. He and Warlord were my favorite heels and I thought the feud with Road Warriors/LOD was epic. Ahh the memories. Great interview. Thanks!
I live in Vegas and most of my friends a are Hawaiian/Pacific Islander. I'm 6'2 250lbs and compared to them I'd be the runt o da litter. Yet all but one is the most soft spoken guy, always calm and laughing...until they're not. It takes a lot to get them to the NOT but once they do its a scary sight.
@?? No doubt! Can you imagine if the Powers Of Pain and The Road Warriors were in their prime wrestling now days??
R.I.P. Hawk...
In Australia we have plenty of Islanders and they are usually laid back it’s only when they get on the alcohol do they go crazy.
Don’t understand why anybody would mess with Haku to begin with!
Wow, this is the first time I ever heard Barbarian speak! I first saw him when JCP first started airing here in Philly back in late 1984 when he was managed by Paul Jones and eh was a killer - especially with his amazing diving headbutt across the ring!
That big man doing the diving headbutt from the top was a definitely sight to behold!
This is the first time I've ever heard Barb speak, too!
Have to add one of my favorite Barbarian-related memories is when Heenan was talking about him during his epic commentary in the '92 Royal Rumble where Flair wins the title. Gorilla Monsoon wonders if Barb could be an ally to Flair in the Rumble because of Barb's past association with Heenan, and Heenan goes: "he doesn't like anybody --- I used to manage him and barely liked me! Why do you think they call him 'The Barbarian'?! He's not a hair dresser on his day off!"
Barb didn't talk much, but man that guy was a BEAST in the ring. Him and Haku could've legit run through that entire locker room if they wanted to!
They had him and Warlord speak once on the WWF . When they were talking about why they turned heel and were with Master Master Fuji as they called him
Wow! I've been binging on these Haku stories lately. He was one more badass!
Barbarian's a legit tough guy.
Love the Barbarian! I remember him as Konga the Barbarian in Paul Jones' Army. Flying headbutt off the ropes was awesome. Also remember him whipping guys into the ropes and drilling them in the face with his boot. Power personified. Saw him wrestle Sam Houston at The Forum in Los Angeles in 1986. Very underrated. One of my all-time favorites. Thank you Hannibal!
Who remembers Body Slam? The movie with Roddy Piper, barbarian, Dirk Benedict, captain Lou albano, Billy barty and others. Oh, my childhood.
Can you imagine the Warlord being terrified?
Johnny Doe And Warlord was a Freakn Beast!!!!
Yeah that is pretty scary. I saw Warlord as a kid and I'm pushing 40 years old now and I'm STILL terrified of the guy when I watch old 80s wrestling tapes. If I saw THAT MAN being scared of something, I'm running for the hills, because whatever can spook that behemoth has gotta be something I want absolutely no part of!
Jason Lane nice brother I saw them when young scary fellas I’m hitting 40 in April bro happy trails!!!
@@champtouch3298 Happy early birthday, bro! I just turned 40 last week and thought it was the end of my life. But it ain't so bad; you'll just wake up in the morning and you're there! And you've still got a bunch of priceless pro wrasslin memories to re-visit here on CZcams, so I'm good and happy to be alive in these wondrous times!
Happy trails, my man!
You ain't lying. 😂🤣
The way Barbarian talks reminds me of my Tongan friends dads.
Also Barb had an awesome Powerbomb. Up their with the best and they looked painful.
Haku was nice about the situation..But as a Roadhouse quote says:Then it was time to not be nice..
I’m guessing idiot fans thought that because they watched Haku often job-out on TV, that they could ‘job him out’ themselves, and obviously / clearly, that’s just not the case. Ain’t gonna happen!
YOU NEVER...EVER MESS WITH SAMOANS AND/OR TONGANS...MAINLAND PEOPLE PLEASE REMEMBER THIS!!...They epitomize the word "TOUGH"..and when pissed "FRIGHTENING"
I think this is the first time in my life that I've heard barbarian speak!! Never knew he had an accent. Very cool..
If someone who's regarded by his peers as the toughest man around gives you two chances to stay away and you still don't....then you fully deserve whatever is coming your way. That's a Jedi level of stupidity.
Haku doesn’t flush the toilet...he scares the crap out of it
Lmao
I met Barbarian and Warlord at a local promotion yrs ago. I couldnt believe how huge there hands are when i shook them. I felt like I had baby hands.
These were glory days. Tough men. No Handy filming . Germany loves haku
Idiots seem to go up to Haku like moths to a flame
Loved barbarian and warlord as a young kid. They were monsters! They definitely deserved way more accolades
Barb was always one of my favourites. Seems like a good guy too. Don't mess with the island boys.
Barbarian sounds like my uncle after a few dozen beers 🤣
And to think, almost everyone believes Barbarian is right up there in toughness, just behind Haku.. He's a very strong, fearless guy himself, I can't believe what Haku was in real life, in his prime.. Shit, I wouldn't even dare to mess with him!!
It's really amazing how The Barbarian has changed considerably over the years. I can tell that he lost a lot of weight. He no longer weighs about 280 lbs. which was his average weight when he was active in the WWF (now WWE).
But be that as it may, a lot of people didn't seem to realize that you just don't mess with Haku in his prime. Even the 7'4" 550 lb Andre The Giant was scared of him. There was another incident (also at the bar) wherein Haku tried to quell an argument between a lady and a guy (presumably her boyfriend). A bouncer (likely an employee of that bar) grabbed a stool and smashed it onto Haku. That only enraged Haku. He ended up hurting a few people afterwards. The owner of that bar had to call the police because Haku was unstoppable. No one had dared to intervene and reason with him at that point.
Andre was never anywhere near 7' 4''.
If Andre was 7'4" Hulk Hogan was 6'10", Haku 6'5" lmao
If I could choose any 2 men on earth to have in my corner in a brawl it would be Haku and the Barbarian.
I know this is an old interview but I have so much respect for Haku the king and the Barbarian I loved watching their tag team matches they were so big and so flexible and so strong unbelievable men back then compared to now
It’s amazing how most men from the South Pacific speaks and acts the same. Such respectful warriors, reminds me of my dad!
the barbarian was an animal in his hey day !
This shit had me dying "you come back , I am gonna beat you up so bad ....."
Oh man, this is gonna get good real quick. Hannibal, we salute you!! 🏆
Good job Devon!👊 I remember back in the day when this guy was in his prime! I saw him Wrestle several times back in the late 80's or early 90's, this guy was a freakin Beast! I remember when he was in the NWA, and watching Barbarian in a bench press competition against Animal of the Road Warriors! Barbarian and Animal both were bench pressing 450lbs like it was nothing, they made it look easy!! Thanks Devon, I enjoyed watching it!! Keep em coming Brother!!👍
Awesome video, The Barbarian is one of my favorite wrestlers of all-time. I hope that you guys at Hannibal TV have more video material on him.
This is not Nord the Barbarian. That was the berzerker. This is Sione Vailahi the original barbarian.
@@mmafan8407 I can and will admit to my error (bad). So I went and made the correction. Good day!
If you told me you'd give me a million dollars to identify this wrestler I would not be able to identify the Barbarian as he looks right now. Man he looks WAY different! This Haku story ALWAYS reminds me of the Chris Farley character in Dirty Work. LOL!
The Barbarian will not be forgotten👍🙏❤️bless you
Haku shouldn't have to tell a guy twice to leave him alone and don't come back. Alcohol makes fools out of some dudes😀
Hearing barbarian talk reminded me of my uncles from Tonga
The four people I would NEVER want to be facing down in a bar, back in their prime:
1. Haku
2. Paul Orndorff
3. Tommy Billington
4. New Jack or Randy Savage (tie)
Needs more Steve Blackman.
Haku
Barbarian
Harley Race
Steve Blackman
Ron Simmons
Prob the #2 toughguy in wrestling
Tough guy but that was then. Haku said in an interview he was very fortunate someone didn't pull a gun on him, which would have likely happened if he had done that in today's era.
He would have eaten the gun
I have always believed in warning people. If you are warned then it’s your own fault. Idiot was warned!
This man seems like such a great person
barbarian is awesome, i got to see him beat the hell out of a local "kurt angle" in my small north carolina town back in 2010 or 11
Im willing to bet that Haku has killed multiple people before with his bare hands.
Or close to it
This man had strengh I could never imagine.
Well, Haku gave that tough guy not one but two chances to leave and save face. First time, the guy could have walked off and told his buddies how the so-called toughest guy in the room wanted nothing to do with him. And technically he would have been telling the truth. But, he kept pushing.
Literally "save face"!
" Great idea, lets just go ahead and and fuck with Haku"!!
Don't Pay to be NOSY!
Tony Ferguson the type of dude to check under his bed for Haku
If a guy three times your size who looks like Haku politely asks you to leave them alone, WHY would you continue to fuck with him???
I never knew the Barbarian had such a strong accent when speaking English. Haku, and the Barbarian are from the Island of Tonga,, I believe. I heard Haku speak before, he doesn't have such a strong accent when speaking English. Both Haku and the Barbarian are tough underrated wrestlers. I enjoyed watching them both compete.
This guy was such a beast. And a nice guy too. THE KICK OF FEAR!!!
Haku would have made Hannibal Lecter vomit that night
Should have gave barbarian a run with belt
That guy nose not to mess with Haku while he’s eating!
GREAT VID !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would love to know what happened to the guy with half a nose. What was his life like after that?😂
How can we see this full interview?
He got two warnings! Lol 😂
He was warned. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Did barbarian do a shoot interview with hannibal
If Meng / Haku ask me, to leave, i would leave :D (MARKUS)
Haku is a Dragon Ball Z character in real life.
is the photo and signature only for usa and kanada?
Barbarian was a badass also.
X-Pac was there.
He can try be nice and told the guy leave him alone. The guy keep comeing back and pushing him. He had no choice to hurt the guy. It the guy fault you got hurt. Now the guy should learn his lesson that do try push people into a fight. Learn his lesson don't push people into a fight. When people say leave them alone. Then leave people alone.
Tongans are very tough dudes. Never mess with a Toko Tongan.
Great man barbarian on his time and now same as warloard love for them I'm from pakistan neighbour of Afghanistan
MUCH OFA TO THE BARBARIAN 🇹🇴 ONE OF TONGA / POLYNESIA’s BEST TO STEP FOOT INTO THE SQUARED CIRCLE.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haku is right’ , never interrupt a Polynesian while eating lol
This guy was one scary sob
Man he lost weigh
never heard ''stories'' of HAKU beating up a ''professional'' fighter. not a one.
You do know Haku and Barbarian were trained in Sumo and martial arts. I mean legit where sent to Japan at a young age.
@@lumbeeman01 i knew that. still doesn't change the fact that i haven't heard of 1 story where he beat a professional fighter. not a one. not saying he wasn't a very tough guy, he was.
That's because "professional fighters" leave town when they see Haku. Btw, I guess Marines can be considered trained to fight. Haku knocked out 5 of them in seconds. Incident narrated by legendary badass Rick Steiner
@@chaoticdays YEAH, OK. AND I GUESS THAT STORY OF haku BEATING UP 8 COPS AT ONCE IS TRUE , RIGHT. HMMMM, ANY JAIL TIME FOR THAT? LOL.
Raiders fan, hell yeah!!!!
Natural selection at its finest.
I really like this guy what a cool man
@Hannibal TV Maybe you can shed some light. Any truth to the rumor that Haku was invited to participate in first UFC event only to be quashed by the power's that be for fear of possibly hurting Wrestling's tough guy legacy?
Haku was working for WCW at that time making far more money than UFC was paying. Also his legend has only really become huge over the past decade or so with so many shoots bring out free in the net now as well as Podcasts being hugely popular.
@@TheHannibalTV thanks for the quick reply and all the insight!
Good on Haku, The guy deserved everything he got
Haku tried to be nice lol
Who in their Right mind would want to pick a fight with Haku ??? The Man is huge That's just asking to get Killed ! 😳
What nationality is the Barbarian? He and Haku are not really related are they?
Barb is Tongan. He was a couple of years ahead of Haku at the same high school in Tonga, but not blood related.
Not related but came from the same island and they knew each other. Barbarian is several years older and got sent to Japan to learn sumo shortly after Haku.
3rd time and you’re out
...on the floor...
Some people deserve to get their nose bitten off. That dude sounds like he was one of those people.
My uncle!!
💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
I wouldn't fuck with barb or haku/meng🤷🏿♂️
Husha
Who’s Terry? Funk? Hogan? Someone else?
