My parents got married the year Basic Instinct came out and watched it in the theater a few months after the wedding. My mom apparently turned to my dad and said: " It's okay honey. She is absolutely breathtaking." My mom understood we're talking about a generational beauty.

Basic Instinct was certainly a great movie and I agree that since about the mid-nineties, it has become impossible to shock audiences with anything. But I'd say there's been plenty of stuff since the sixties that has actually been more shocking compared to the social mores of the age than Basic Instinct, except that the media didn't have that kind of power to fuss up anything in former times.
Even in the nineties, the best femme fatale movie was actually The Last Seduction starring Linda Fiorentino. Linda would have won an Oscar for that if not for a technical disqualification because they showed the movie on T. V. before they were supposed to or something. I think that Basic Instinct also might not have got that kind of press at first if not for Michael Douglas's playing the male lead. But once it got the public's attention, both the movie and Sharon Stone in particular certainly stand up for themselves

Basic instinct is always and will be the best erotic crime thriller. All credit goes to this gorgeous sexy actor Sharon Stone. Unbeatable performance,lustrous smile,mysterious attitude everything was so alluring that one simply cant take eyes off the movie and Sharon of course.
