    Thanks for the great review Tony. I've had my eye on these for the left side of my 2017 Street Scrambler for some time but there doesn't seem to be a rail available for that yet and the website says the one for the Street Twin is not suitable. Do you happen to know if that is not true and whether in fact the support for the Street Twin would fit the Street Scrambler? Thanks.

    From what I can tell these are the best panniers (and best looking) for my XSR...I can't help feeling they need to lock to be a real option though. If it's a trip to the shops so I only have the one then why not use a tank bag/rucksack but for a proper journey do I really want to lug two bags into the toilets at a service station?
    Any thoughts after a few months of ownership?

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  Před 7 lety +1

      Yes the lack of locks, both for the panniers and TO the bike is the biggest problem with these. OK for casual use and urban errand running, but as soon as you want to leave the bike and venture off they are at risk.

    Hi Tony. I’ve just bout these bags. But I’m at a loss a little. If you could help or point me to a link, I would be very grateful. Alas the side rails are sold separately, however the ones I’m finding different to the ones you have on your video. There is another metal stripe to make the railing system one oddly shaped circle. And I can’t find the ones you have added to your bike for this video any where. Not even Sw-motech s site. Any help would be really appreciated.

    Dude, just bought a Street Twin for my wife, replacing her G650GS, with the Triumph bench seat to give that extra 1.5 inches of seat height. Unfortunately you can't fit a carrier or top box (which she likes to have) with that seat fitted so we were looking for some soft panniers - nothing too big or wide. I don't like the (expensive) Triumph bags and the Givi\Kappa ones look rubbish and spoil the aesthetics of the bike. I came across these on a couple sites and saw your review.
    Just the review\advice I was hoping for, perfect, thanks for taking the time to run through the installation. Especially mentioning the bench seat.
    I've subscribed to your channel and I'm keen to see more product reviews\mods for Street Twins..

    One question regarding the pannier rack mount if possible Tony. From the looks of it - and since I can´t find many rack panniers available for the Street Twin - I believe this one could also be used for soft luggage for other brands as well. Kriega does great luggage panniers which have bigger capacity that the SW-Motech one´s, but for them to work on this rack its structure must protrude further away from the shocks, so the panniers won´t touch the shocks when mounted/strapped to the rack rail.
    From the video I can´t quite understand if the rack goes further away from the shock or if it ends in line with it (like when looking from behind before mounting the panniers). The rail looks great and is not to obtrusive.
    Can you help with this question Tony?
    Once again thank you for the helpful videos and info regarding such subjects. Not many useful videos like yours are available for Street Twin users, unfortunately. Really appreciate the videos.

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  Před 7 lety +1

      It does place the bag outside the shock, I can show it here but i'll put a picture on the facebook page. Obviously the mounting system is specific to SW- Motech bags, but I guess they could be used as a 'support' for other panniers?!

      Hi Ontario Andrews, thanks for your reply, but not actually incorrect for this bag. The liner does not Velcro to the pannier, it is a separate liner with its own roll top and clip system (as I clicked shut in the video), if you rolled the liner and the pannier together you wouldn't be able to fix the connector tabs on the outside.

    Brilliant bag. Mount Doesn’t fit with upgraded fox socks on the scrambler but brilliant otherwise

      I can't see how bad weather would disintegrate the Napalon material? Was it left with road salt deposits on it for a period of time?

      Tbh I bought it with my Scrambler off someone else. How it was treated before I honestly don’t know. It’s just peeling off in lumps. I’ve just ordered the L1 magnetic tank bag which I will look after. Love your posts 👍😊
