Focusing attention (Satipatthana) on the nature of the mind and body with enough understanding of the nature of reality (realization of the Higher Dhamma) is the path to removing the illusion of life/self.

Pump it up Beth! Getting fired up to hit the cushion and get a cool concentration going. Face that suffering and quit drowning my attention out with trash TV and binge watching utter nonsense. That's not being a lamp unto myself.

Hi Beth, seeking some advice please, I enjoy chanting Buddhist mantras, in your opinion would it be best to exchange this practice for anapanasati to progress in the spiritual path, I sometimes get confused which practice to do, which is the best easiest authentic way, especially nowadays when there are so many teachers, and with some of them disagreeing with each other as to the true way to practice etc
