This video is really educational in terms of the way you explained what “ethical” means in the fashion industry instead of simply throwing the word there to look environmentally conscious. I learned a lot!! Thank you Chloé😊

I love your relaxed look and how you still look good with crumpled clothes and how you spontaneously put on your clothes. Not just in this video but how you basically look all the time. Unfortunately, All the brands you’ve showed is not available here since I’m in the Philipines, yet I still love watching this.

You could try in other video to tie dye with natural dyes like the avocado peels to give a second chance to some clothes

Thank you so much. That video helps a lot!!! It can get so overwhelming to choose clothing, so it is nice that you show and rate all of those items. I can see that you put a lot of effort into these videos!

This is a well thought out series! The reviews are very helpful and full of "fact filled" information - which we definitely need more of in the world today. Also, just learning the names of these companies is so helpful. I always check out the companies you preview on line and am so surprised at the amount of goods that are available. Thank you for doing all of this research for us! Hugs to you! XOXOXOXO

While I applaud the educational aspect of this series in sharing ethical and sustainable brands with your audience, I think it's also important to discuss possible inspiration behind it. It sounds VERY similar to Lizzy Hadfield's series "Testing Basics" that she's been doing for a few years now (and other CZcamsrs have similar things). Lizzy doesn't focus on ethical/sustainable clothing per se, in fact she is very much a consumer, but she is slowly educating herself on the topic.
Your series does have a very different focus and I hope Lizzy and others take inspiration from it, you've clearly put in a lot of research and effort.
Even if you were inspired by a non-sustainable source, I think it's important to acknowledge that and I would actually love to see a video about how you consume content from creators who don't focus on ethical and sustainable living.
I hope my comments make sense, it's really not negative but a point of genuine interest for me. I hope this will be a big break for you! ❤️

    •  Před 4 lety +4

that's a great point! I mentioned Lizzy in my first episode and I really enjoy her videos. I hope she gets inspired to share more about sustainability moving forward as much as I got inspired by her concept!

You should reference Lizzy in every video you publish in this series. To my mind, it’s plagiarism otherwise.

I wouldn't say that the Sanvt t-shirt is sustainable, as you mentioned yes. If they are using only long staple fibers, that means, they have to remove all the short fibers, which is waste essentially, unless they're keeping that waste and using it for other products. Staple means short fibers, filament fibers are long, which cotton doesn't usually come in because the cotton plant doesn't make long filament fibers, a silk worm makes fibers that are quite long yes.

Honestly, we need to go back to wearing tunics and robes like they did in Biblical days. Fashion designers refuse to use quality fabrics anymore, and tees are always too thin, see-through, and cheap. All those tees look cheap and poor because they're all flimsy. I once had an idea to buy my t-shirts from a Muslim clothing store online since they're pretty modest people, but their tees turned out to be just as thin and poor-looking as everyone else's. Tunics and robes would get rid of ridiculous fashion designers who are greedy and charge too much for cheap poor-looking clothing.

  • @KeepTheTrees

While I'm sure this video is well intentioned, everything about these brands screams "greenwashing". Why are we putting money, resources and energy into "sustainable basics" companies when literal tonnes of basic clothing already exists that we can give a second life to? Go into any secondhand clothing shop and I'm sure you will have your pick. This comment is not my original idea, I probably wouldn't have reacted this way if I hadn't already watched Sedona Christina's recent video on "Zero Waste" Swaps that need to stop. She is someone that truly embraces the low-waste life with a critical eye.
And maybe this is just me, but 33 euros is not a reasonable price for a plain white tee I could find for 5 euros in any secondhand shop.
