    Nice vape trails on those last few shots! Hornady Black on the ammo recommendation

    When I played with Vortex's Ballistic Calculator it looked like a 25 yard zero kept you pretty flat out to 150 with the Hornady Black .450.

    Good stuff, I run hornady custom and Black 250s, I also like the federal 300 grainers. I zeroed about a 1/2 low at 25 yards. Havent had a chance to shoot it past that distance to see what itll do.

    You need to adjust your scope left. I don't think the wind did all that.

    I'm running the BCA 16" upper ,haven't had any issues! I use the original colt 20rd mags only mod I did was relive the front edge of the mag so the first few rd's wouldn't catch on it. Other than that they are all original even the aluminum follower. I get eight rds in them, hope this helps someone!

    my 450 loves the hornady black and my reloads. setup is ruger lower, forged generic upper, with phosphate bcg, brownells barrel (lower priced version) with included brake, luth ar 308 buffer tube and buffer, luth ar fixed stock, radical firearms handguard, and a burris ar-536 scope and fastfire 3 for shorter ranges (75 and less yrds). im getting about inch and a half groups at 100 yds and about a 6 inch drop at 200 yrds with my reloads still need to group the hornady black ammo at 200 yrds. hope this helps

      Is there any difference between the Hornady Custom and Black ammo? There's a $5 per box price difference but they look to be the exact same thing in a different box.

      @codyd3082 Před 5 lety

      @@mattc3152 haven't shot the hornady customs yet so wouldn't really know the only thing I can think of is that the blacks might be sized just a little differently for semi auto versus bolt action

    You could try a Tromix Center Feed Follower for the Lancer magazines to see if they make a difference. They are $15 from Tromix Lead Delivery Systems

    I have the .450 , and I constantly have feed issues . Lots of brass shavings .

    • @Highjak86
      @Highjak86  Před 5 lety

      I have roughly 300 rounds, maybe more, through this one you see here. I haven't noticed much in shavings and the few issues I have had with function come back to the magazine - which I've since remedied by switching to the Bushmaster brand 450BM mags from Brownells, my modified Lancer 20rd body, or the new yet to be release Lancer 10rd body 450/458 specific mags.

    • @mikesimpson7748
      @mikesimpson7748 Před 5 lety

      Are you using stock 223 mags? I found using steel mags with a cheap $9 450 magazine follower I bought of ebay works like a champ.

    What optic are you running in this video?

  • @Sturrmm
    @Sturrmm Před 5 lety +1

    Just FYI AR versions of the 450 bushmaster have accuracy problems with mags, try loading a single round and not using a mag and see how consistent your shots become. Or try different mags, lighter springs tent to help since tight springs tend to push the rounds up and cause problems.

    • @Highjak86
      @Highjak86  Před 5 lety +2

      The magazine in no way effects the accuracy of an AR. Period.

      @Highjak86  Před 5 lety +1

      @@Sturrmm Poor shooter - poor result. This is a commonly reported issue by those who aren't able to handle the recoil impulse. Correlation does not imply causation. Magazine has nothing to do with the accuracy of a rifle. The bullet has already left the barrel before the BCG has completely unlocked let alone moved across the magazine.

    Just came across your ACR v SCAR video. Are you an Armorer, 25 military vet with combat experience? I don't know but I do know that you are off your meds. Did you get your ACR When 6.8mm barrels were promised but never delivered, or the 100% recall of all ACR's or when the initial, initial entry into the retail market was almost $3000. twice what was promised. My SCAR 16 was $1500 and change 3 years ago. My SCAR 17 $1600 and change. Inflation is a witch. But I've never had a recall. Huh. And yours is better. Wow.
