Holiday World Retires Raging Rapids | Permits Submitted For Pilgrims Plunge Area? Coincidental?

- Holiday World has sadly announced the retirement of their classic rapids ride. As this ride closure comes on the heels of the park beginning construction over in the former pilgrims plunge plot of land, it presents the question if this has any relation. Check out a couple of the thoughts I have on if the park were to use both plots of land to create a huge new attraction at Holiday World!

That was our favorite Rapids ride. Very charming and unique. 😕
Definitely a classic and one of a kind for sure!
Man, I’m going to miss the Raging Rapids, this was one of my favorite rides at the park. But I can’t wait to see what may be coming next
when my sister told me raging rapids was closed i didnt think it was going to be gone foreever and i am so sad
Very sad they are getting rid of Raging Rapids.i hope it is a new water ride
They have now released the new "gravy" ride. Still waiting for them to make up for taking away raging rapids
One year we came this was the only ride we rode...over and over and over again. So I am extremely upset.
I’m so sad raging rapids closed 😢
I hope they replace it with a water ride
The park announced is getting a vekoma family boomerang. I really wish they got one of those launched flume rides, it would be a perfect fit
Im so sad theyre closing it me and my family would ride this every chance we got
Did you see that Holiday World got a permit for a Vekoma family boomerang? That’s what I’m assuming is replacing Raging Rapids
I did not see that permit. Do you think the boomerang would fit better in the pilgrims plunge plot of land? Or do you think it’ll fit fine where raging rapids was?
@@dad_coaster_co I’m thinking the Raging Rapids land because it’s more compact and the permit was approved the same day Raging Rapids closed. Plus the 4th of July section has been due for a coaster for a while, their crowds are always kinda sparse
@@linusmckinney3515 That is a good point, but from what I've seen from voyages beginning lift hill, they removed all the troughs and have entirely flattened the land where Pilgrims Plunge was located, and it also looks like they are keeping the original pilgrims plunge loading and queue building and have seemed to modify it to possibly fit a coaster train. And in the original blog post announcing Pilgrims Plunge would close, they talked about the Speedwell and how it was forced to turn back not once but twice, and a boomerang coaster does a forward or backward run like the Speedwell, and with the location being right next to the Mayflower ride. I believe this family boomerang is going to be where pilgrims plunged was in the Thanksgiving section and would be named after the Speedwell or referencing the ship.
