    I don’t play flute but heard that you shouldn’t use the ‘8va’ thing even if there are a lot of ledger lines because the flute player would be experienced enough to be used to reading a lot of ledger lines.

      Hey, thanks for the comment! In my time playing flute usually they don't use 8va unless it's in the extreme upper range. In my relative inexperience of writing (that was written nearly 6 years ago--man, it doesn't seem like it!) those few notes were at the very top of the available range of the flute. Perhaps I'm in the minority on this, but I prefer 4 ledger lines or less in reading. Much easier to read. Like I said, though, usually you would be right
