Happiness Through Subtraction

Although financial independence isn’t the answer to all your problems and won’t bring complete happiness, it can increase happiness through subtraction.
If you want to use money to make you happier, stop thinking about what you can buy with it.
Instead, think about how you can use it to remove the things in your life that make you unhappy.

Great video, I can relate as I fell into the same tunnel vision trap on my FI journey. I enjoyed reading this article back in the day and it is great to hear it again. I hit my target number a while ago and I did it like you. Put my head down tunnel vision and alienated friends/family. I am now sub 2.5% swr and still working because I have to save more than just what I need due to old parents who need help from time to time due to them only getting small social security checks.
