  • England have made it into the semi-finals of Euro 2024 beating Switzerland in a penalty shoot out! England were lucky, we didn't play particularly well but with Bukayo Saka in the team anything is possible. Like Jude Bellingham in the previous game, we got out of jail thanks to the brilliance of our world class talent! Onto Dortmund we go!

    Rory, as long as England progresses it doesn't matter but this English side is better than they have showed. Portugal had a massive problem in 2016 scoring goals. • @DeanRTaylor
    @DeanRTaylor Před 5 dny +1

    I want Mainoo to get a goal or an assist or something, so far we've only scored when he's come off despite him looking top brass (not criticising). I think Shaw coming into the team helps a lot of players. Agree with the Foden take, Sakas performance didn't come in a vacuum in my opinion his link up with Foden was way better than with Bellingham.
    I also prefer Bellingham off the left coming inside into space. If shaw starts on the left and Kane actually arrives at euro 202, I think we'd see so much more from this side. I personally don't believe Palmer and Gordon should be starting against these teams, I think Gordon coming in for Foden or Bellingham takes away our advanced overloads and Palmer is quality but does lose the ball 30% of the time, one for the future but for now should definitely be coming on at 60. I also think TAA is miles ahead of anyone else on the ball. He was on for about 10 minutes and played two or three pretty deadly balls.

    it's a no brainer, Kane's contribution (through carrying an injury, or whatever), against Switzerland has been non-existent, he is holding the team back, by dropping too deep and not having the pace to get in to receiving positions. Saka runs to the by-line were squandered because of him. The debate should be whether Watkins or Toney starts, or if GS absolutely is unable to drop Kane (and I kind of get that), then unless he is playing his socks off, he gets subbed at 60 mins and no later

    I wish people would acknowledge the other side of a strikers game, Harry had defenders doubled and sometimes tripled up on him . At this point it’s up to the other forwards to do damage when kane does this.
    Guaranteed if any of us were opposing Managers we would be telling our defenders to double up on Kane ..

      Bullshit. He’s dropping in and ends up drifting into their defensive mids space, and when the centre back follows him he ends up coincidentally with two around him.
      He doubles himself and doesn’t let anyone else know, so that one defensive mid of every other team is managing to mark two of us at once

      Kane scored 2 goals. He's not missing all the time. It's his positioning that is poor and he did that in the last World Cup. For some reason he doesn't get into the optimal positions. Kane has to start, but if he's not affecting the game after 60 minutes - he has to come off and we need to try to get balls into Toney or Watkins.

    • @footyball66
      @footyball66 Před 5 dny

      I'd say Walker or Stones have been our worst players this tournament. Considering how solid and reliable they are for Man City....they have been liabilities at the back. They give the ball away so often.

      @@footyball66 so has Bellingham but other than the 2 goals, he's also been shocking. Agreed, Walker and Stones have also been dodgy (same with Foden). If Kane does play an hour, does nothing and England are 2-0 down, it'll be too late.

      England are not exactly creating loads of chances for any Striker to score goals. Its more of a situation of England fans
      flip flopping and coming up with solutions as a exscuse. Before the tournament everbody was saying England have the 3
      best players in the 3 hardest leagues, in Foden in the E.P.L, Kane in the Bundesliga, and Jude in la liga. Now everybody
      has done a 180 degree u turn on everything they have said, and started to play the blame game, not only about those
      3 players but Saka as well. Every single one of them including Saka have been called out over these last 3 weeks to
      be dropped, its has gotten that bad. I have heard so many solutions over these last 3 weeks, some of them boarding on
      madness its getting ridiculous and a bit of a farce. The English national team is a refelection of Gareth Southgate and
      how he wants them to play, and Kane is only as good as the players behind him, the cherry on the top of the cake.
      If southgate sets his team up, to not take risks and not to over strech themselves and overcommit, to create loads
      of chances then how do you expect any striker to score goals. Wakins and Toney should of definitely had more
      opportunities way way before this tournament, England and all the other top nations have really easy qualifying
      groups to get to these tournaments, and the tin pot nations league. Southgate should of been working both those
      players in then to get the experience. Now its a bit risky in my opinion to experiment in a semi final with a change
      in personnel which may work or may not work. Wakins and Toney will still get their chance of the bench.
      I just think we have to trust southgates judgment now and just hope things work out, he knows better than us.

    Rory you have been deceived by your eyes…..it’s called aesthetic bias.
    There is simple no comparison, Xhaka’s ability to control tempo and break lines is miles better than Kobbie….
    Kobbie is still developing, his positional play is poor and he drifts in and out of games…..
