those guitars captured the mood of the song perfectly
I disagree, politely. The way John plays it is much more difficult because it sounds like the non-stop chugging of a train. That sound reinforces the idea that you can't stop moving forward in life, seeing loved ones age and die. The way it's being played here is soft, slow, moody, and controlled.

@@brianwalsh9265 Exactly. This sounds more like the guitar pace for say, pink floyd's pillows of wind. The singer has a good voice, but that excessive vibrato really does little to capture the unrest and the nausea of the moving train and the frustration with living that John captures without any vibrato or unnecessary articulation that I see here.

@@brianwalsh9265 you know, i absolutely understand your point and that interpretation makes perfect sense. while you see the guitar sound as "non-stop chugging' of the train, my interpretation stems from the restraint these guys showed with the tempo and the plucking, which relates to the hesitation or flat out refusal to move forward with the train, wanting to stop it and get off. could be really far off, but it's what i felt with this version. :)

Great cover, really enjoyed it. What this video does too is highlight how amazingly talented John Mayer is. It takes four people to do this cover and he does this ON HIS OWN.
