I don’t care what people say, he has an amazing voice.
Yes he does his voice is better than any one today period
I don’t understand the hate. He was amazingly soulful.
He's got a great voice and didn't deserve all the mockery he got. So much soul there. He still sounds this good.
He still deserves it all.
What do you mean Wayne?
@@waynecox3958 No, he doesn't deserve it! He has one of the best voices, ever.
He is a great singer and he did receive mockery at one point but it was never for his singing. Any popular song he would cover was a big hit and typical record companies just pushed one after another until his audience and fans were burned out. Same thing with Kenny G, until you would hear jokes like this, what is the difference between Kenny G and an Uzi? an Uzi only repeats itself eighteen times.
“How Am I Supposed to Live Without You” was his biggest hits, great song.
This man is gifted .sent straight from heaven.
And gorgeous
Michael could sing the dictionary and it still be number one .
Love Michael Bolton.
This album was hugely successful. One of the greatest male vocalists of all-time.
Michael Bolton is still around and still singing.
From my Hometown of New Haven, Connecticut! Michael Bolton😍
Thanks so much for your beautiful comment towards me lovely fan ❤….. where are you from🎊 ❤
I love your reaction and analysis. You hit the nail on the head. He was one of the best. Such passion and true talent.
Michael Bolton, the legend.
Michael Bolton classics!
"How Am I Supposed to Live Without You?"
"To Love Somebody"
"How Can We Be Lovers?"
Women never tire of this music! Check out the young female reactors to Michael. Great choice! Mike wrote his big hit “ How Am I Supposed to Live Without You?”
Not all women, sorry not my cup of tea. Prefer the original
He actually has sung Opera!🙂
How am I suppose to live without you, is another good one.
Michael Bolton, the number one.
Great reaction to a classic song by Michael.
Love this song Chod 😁
Thanks so much for your beautiful comment towards me lovely fan ❤….. where are you from🎊 ❤
Ok boys and girls.... There are a lot of singers who do not write the songs, or do "covers".
Sinatra, to Celine Dion, are singers not composers. Bolton has a good set of pipes.... That's the point, not the commercial aspect.
Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Chicago, all covered blues tunes. Many artists bend to "we gotta sell".
Chod, you go on experiencing.....
IMO today's artists don't want to put in the time and work it takes to develop this kind of talent.
My favorite male singer seen him too many times to count always happy he also has a opera album
Thanks so much for your beautiful comment towards me lovely fan ❤….. where are you from🎊 ❤
Blue-Eyed soul, baby!
It's about time we got to Michael Bolton. The man can "sang"
Sad what music has become.....glad I was born in the right time.....music WAS amazing!!!!
More Michael please. !!!!!
Great reaction!!!
I think the reason why it shifted in the.mid 90’s probably has a lot to do with the invention of auto tune. You no longer needed to sing to be “singer”.
You should listen to the original version by Percy Sledge, so much better.
The guy has sang live with pavoroti..that says it all really
Michael Bolton 'Go The Distance'
This song was originally cut and was a huge hit by Percy Sledge.
It still does exist. Check out Home Free's cover of this song.
Sorry, but Michael Bolton is one of those singers I turn off the radio every time he comes on. I passed on this one.
I know of him, because he was on a commercial or two and made guest appearances on TV shows. But this is the only song I remember.
All The Lady Like Him Great Voice
It ended in the 90's when music went to computer generated music and people who cant even sing without Autotune.
When I was cool and young,. this guy was a punchline. Glad to see he's making a comeback.
Wasn't a "punchline" with the girls & women. His voice is one of the best!
“Back on my feet again” is a powerful song by michael bolton
“I can’t believe it’s not butter”!
I can't believe it's not better
It seemed pretty clear that this was the studio version synced to a live performance. The giveaways are the times the editor slowed down the video to match up the more energetic/sped up live version with the slower studio version.
Also... fan noise. Where’d it go? lol
It was a very good effort by the fan or whoever did it.
This is the official music video. Most early music videos were the studio recordings played over live footage. They still did that a lot throughout the 90s, which is when this was released. It was never featured with "live" in the title. It was common then, so we knew the difference.
That hair was out of control
To think- he started out a metal singer...
That commercial featured the ORIGINAL version by Percy Sledge.
Urk! If you're going to do this, you should really do the Percy Sledge version. I'll leave it at that, without further editorializing.
Oh, yeah. I had to go and give it another listen, to be sure. Yes. I'm sure. The Percy Sledge version kicks butt on this one.
czcams.com/video/KwPxhWU1koE/video.html
Both versions are awesome. Percy's Rocks, but so does Michael's. Because both aren't just singing a song, they're feeling it. It MEANS something to both of them. Both versions should be in people music catalogues
You might want to listen to Jarrod Lawson singing and playing Love isn't always Enough. It will surprise you.
1. How Can We Be Lovers
2. How Am I Supposed To Live Without You
3. When I'm Back On My Feet Again
4. Time Love And Tenderness.
They should keep you busy...lol. enjoy
Thanks so much for your beautiful comment towards me lovely fan ❤….. where are you from🎊 ❤
👍👍
Jon secada if you leave was last song in this vein.
To me listening to Bolton do this song is like hearing Pat Boone sing Lute Richard’s hit songs. Listen to the Percy Sledge original
I bet he never had trouble finding the ladies. Bowowchicabowbow
the real secret to your question... and why you don't hear music like this anymore.
This has less to do with the artist, and more to do with the labels.
The labels follow trends, Nickelback was proof that there is a cookie cutting algorithm to music that will produce hits like clockwork.... Then they began refining that algorithm up the line to today which is why we all freak out when we see a black sheep.... like Chris Stapleton who stands out from any current genre. He was cut from a different cloth.... from an earlier time when music had to be fought for to be heard on the radio... when artist did the grind at state fairs, and bussing up with other bands to different shows like with the highway men, Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash... and open mics like with Jewel...
Discoverability became saturated by websites like vine and youtube, and the lack of hustle became easier... The truth is... the music industry has now become stagnant and complacent with lazy music that just sells... The science behind the record sales destroyed the artist's ability to actually be artists because now they are just musical salespeople pushing the algorithm.... so now it is garbage in, garbage out. The day of meaningful music is at a standstill until artists realize they don't need record labels anymore.
That is my take on what happened to the massive love song efforts of our youth... the music died.
☮️💙
Please react to Home Free version of this song
You should check out the cover by Home Free
Can you please do bachman Turner overdrive taking care of business please thank you very much
This is all very well and fine, but JayveeTV just did "Mirror in the Bathroom" and I REALLY think you gotta go there too some time soon I hope--PLEASE............
No doubt Michael Bolton has a killer voice but you have to do Percy Sledge.
Begging songs went extinct.
There's something special about a male vocalist that has a falsetto that sounds like full voice! I suspect it was two things that killed this genre... the industry's desire to make money with 'new' sounds and a generational change that has happened forever... Teens looking for their own music that is different to their parent's music. And the rebellious nature makes sure it's something their parents won't particularly like (or even hate). My parents were 'im Reeves, Perry Como, Frank Sinatra fans that thought I the music I listened to (Eagles, Journey, Dire Straits, Rolling Stones, Bob Seger, was 'tripe'... And my son (born in '82) listens to crap... See the pattern here... :) Interesting that I still like Jim Reeves and my son loves Dire Straits... So there you go! Keep great music alive! "It's what it's.." Right? :)
Another good song was Said I Loved You But I Lied
Thanks so much for your beautiful comment towards me lovely fan ❤….. where are you from🎊 ❤
Percy Sledge. Listen to the original
My worthless opinion is he over does it here. Seemed to be a regular thing with him. Although the Skullet he’s rocking is sweet.
Totally agree
"... no talent ass clown..." -Michael Bolton, Office Space. (Sorry, I couldn't help it.) Seriously, he has a really good voice, just got tiring to hear it everywhere, and that is still having effects. Maybe someday. He's got a lot of other people's hits to react too.
Bolton is an imposter, all he does is covers....listen to the original version by Percy Sledge.
You reacted to this without ever hearing the original Percy Sledge, or knowing his story? The Muscle Shoals story? Am I getting that right, or am I taking crazy pills?
Man, if that's the case, I feel for you, Wilburn, cuz once you do recognize the real song and the story behind it you're gonna either feel betrayed, or like you betrayed yourself . . . This is just freakin' sad, man, and I ain't apologizing for saying that.
You need to see Home Free’s version of this song! The released it for Valentine’s Day and it is so much better! Austin Brown puts is soul into the song and it’s fabulous!!!
Really?
I've only seen one of their covers before, End of the Road, and it was very poor. Haven't listened to them since. Didn't think they'd be able to decently cover anything.
Chod. Do not play any Michael Bolton. K?
Thank you
A good voice, for sure, but having a good voice is just one part of being a good singer. Singing is not a combat sport.
What do you mean?
@@angelika_munkastrap4634 I mean Michael Bolton's voice is technically pretty good but, in my opinion, his singing has no subtlety or musicality, so I don't think of him as a good singer.
Hmmm interesting, funny how we all hear things differently, I hear a passion in his voice and see it in his countenance and see his stage presence. To me his voice has always been special.
Can you give me a couple of examples of those you DO find good singers and a few that you also don't think are?. I'm so curious
@@angelika_munkastrap4634 Music is such a subjective matter, isn't it? And the human voice is especially so. Still, here are a few links that indicate my feelings, though whether they prove them is... well, a subjective matter. Here are four links to the song "You Go To My Head". The first is by Michael Bolton, and the other three by Frank SInatra, Billie Holiday and Bob Dylan. The latter two both have voices that are by no means technically "good", but I think they are masters at bringing language alive. czcams.com/video/D7t0Rlodsv4/video.html czcams.com/video/u0NJMYTxnLI/video.html czcams.com/video/LGNc1yLGPug/video.html (I found that the Dylan performance has been blocked by CZcams, but if you're interested in hearing it, send me your email and I'd be glad to send an mp4. I'm at matt.zuckerman07@gmail.com)
I just sent you an email 😀
Michael Bolton is good but not as good as Percy
It's my feel, is that the greatest soul singers were in the 60's and before that had a church background in that era. Micheal Bolton did a great job singing this song, but for my taste, it's too polished, and has no feel to me. Even a lot of the black singers today can't tap into that soul of the singers of the past.
