  • 2024 will be the year of the sub1k double stack 1911 pistols, also known as 2011 style pistols. This year there are several companies dropping a sub $1000.00 pistol. There are definitely some pros and cons to shopping at this price point, for a style of pistol that normally runs well over $2,000 dollars.

    I love your content. I actually took a flyer on the 4.25" model and picked it up about two months ago for sub $800. I haven't had any failures and was happy about that. However, the trigger was exceptionally heavy. I just received it back from Cosaint who did a trigger job with Wilson Combat parts and also had them do the V8 ports on it. All of this brings me slightly less than or on par with a Prodigy in price point while now enjorying a better shooting experience in my opinion. (I sold my Prodigy a few months back and got an AXG Pro) and in that regard I'm satisfied with the results. I'm now waiting for Summer to arrive when Bul Armory new releases are scheduled to drop, but this will keep me occupied form time to time. You do get what you pay for.

    I’ve never understood why gun reviewers say that they didn’t clean and lube the weapon before testing/reviewing. They say shit like it should run out of the box. Well, yeah. I guess they think it’s some sort of testament to the quality of the firearm. They might be lubricated from manufacture or they might just have some sort of preservative coating to protect them during shipping and storage. Usually reviewers do it with the inexpensive firearms for some reason over very expensive ones. I doubt anyone who competes or uses a firearm where someone’s life is on the line doesn’t clean and lubricate their firearm after taking it out of the box.

    Much more interested in the Tisas double stacks or the MAC sds import for entry level offerings. The LFA Apollo 11 is sub 1k and is solid. Not sure lower cost than the platypus, prodigy, and Bul is worth the squeeze given how good CZ, Berettas, Sigs, and other hammer guns are these days.

      I have the Tisas 4.25 $760 and it’s great, a little spring tuning and the trigger is 3.5! The only complaint from me was the grip safety was stiff but fix that with the spring adjustment also.

    Just picked up the tisas nightstalker double stack I think tisas is a better option than these you retain rear iron sight with optic plate and it comes with 2 mags I have both the nightstalker and standard 4.25 inch models and so far I haven’t had 1 malfunction with either have 700 rounds threw the nightstalker and 300 threw the 4.25 standard model.

    Dude I'd actually really appreciate if you could review one of the new MAC 2011's or the Tisas ones. I think they're made in the same machine shop with a different brand name to delineate different price points or feature sets or something. Or it could just be a separate customer contracted that shop to make some 2011s under their brand. They claim there are no MIM parts and that everything is machined.
    I wanna see if those guns run. i have two Caniks and those work great. I have several thousand rounds through my Canik Rival with zero issues until I started messing with it by adding a comp lmao. The OEM configuration has been flawless though. Even if the MAC/Tisas require some hand polishing--I'd be fine with that. I'm a tool and die/machinist apprentice so I'm no stranger to hand fitting/polishing steel components.
    EDIT: Okay I'm confused about that included red dot, can you tighten it down or is it like....some sorta weird mount? Is it a unique red dot footprint or something? Cuz if its not a unique footprint I'd just throw that right in the trash. This is why I want the MAC version. It's got an RMR cut which is what I want anyway.

      @rdrgear  Před 3 měsíci +2

      The Tisas models will be on deck first, im working the MAC models as well. I really feel these are going to be very well received. If they shoot anything like they feel. The SDS imports brand is going to crush!

      Dude definitely upload some videos of it in action. I'd really love to see how it performs. I'm keeping an eye on every channel I can find who is shooting one of those. I want one if they work. I am planning on waiting until summer at least to see if there are any teething issues but I want one. I just ordered my first suppressor anyway for my ARs so that took up a little chunk of change. I got an Otter Creek Labs Polonium K. The can isn't too expensive but I gotta invest in some Rearden mounts, at least a few of them.

      @@jaredandrews379 Well i got an a5 buffer system and I have the Radian SD charging handle so those two things should help. If need be I'll add a Bootleg adjustable BCG into the mix. Man I spend way too much money on guns and stuff lmao. At least I'm not in debt though =P
      My first suppressor was gonna be a gassy can anyway. I may eventually get some sort of low flow/flow thru can like a Velos or something but those have their own downsides. i've heard the Polo K actually isn't too bad on shorter guns as far as traditional suppressor designs go and its made out of rugged materials and is serviceable if something gets worn out--at least I'm pretty sure it is. I almost got an RC2 but I talked to a lot of people who own a lot of suppressors including Cody Curry(110 SASS actual, the youtuber) and he told me that the Polo K was the best suppressor for the money. At first he asked if I was willing to spend like $1800 on a KAC and I was like "Not until I have a KAC upper to go with it" and then he was like "alright if you don't wanna spend enough to get the KAC, get the Polonium K" and FocusTripp said basically the same thing minus the KAC suggestion so I got the Polo K lol

      @@armorers_wrench I just received mine. Out the box it is more in line with a Prodigy. It has a bul barrel and the trigger pull is lighter than the Witness, but it does still need a little work. I really like it though it's pretty heavily sprung.
