- This talk will explore the physical, emotional and metaphysical experience of Kuṇḍalinī that can arise spontaneously or as a result of spiritual practice/devotion.
We will frame this experience within the Tantric and Yogic world view to understand the mechanism of Kuṇḍalinī and its purpose. We will look at the scriptural evolution of ideas from the Indian continent which points at this divine occurrence. To unpack this phenomenon further, we will examine the yogic body model of the sun and the moon from a scriptural perspective to understand the full potential that Kuṇḍalinī can bestow.
This mysterious occurrence can be viewed by modern psychiatry as mania, schizophrenia or psychosis. In this talk, we will explore some ideas which differentiate transcendence from psychosis and how we have a growing need to re-examine older psychiatric models of a healthy mind. We will touch on emerging psychological frameworks such as transpersonal psychology as a means to support this experience in the west.

In 2015, I had in the same day 7 painfull kundalini expériences. The third one happened at work, I was listening on phone a patient, (I'm a nurse), I tought I would faint from the pain, that particular one went up to the head, I felt and saw sparks, but I did'nt miss a word he was saying. I had to inform my colleges because I had no clue what could be the cause. While driving to go to work that morning of december, the first experience was triggered by my awarness of how extremely happy I was. Your conference was very informative for me and helped me understood what path I was to take. I'm now retired and I volonter in a palliatives care unit. Thank you.

What is your opinion on someone having to have surgery while going through a kundalini awakening?
Is this 101 or 486 class ? You use pronouns like “She”. Conscious self aware separateness of goddess or just energy within the body or energy body ? I had an experience at night where I come to a higher state from sleep to find my spine electrified to extreme, I grabbed the sides of my head while I curled up into fetal position as I felt like being consumed. Just then two hands gently took my hands and brought them down by my sides. I sleep with no one, who could this be ? I turn my head to see and androgynous being illuminating gently with no strong body features except for human like face. There was no fear, just calm and gentleness. I laid my head back down. I went asleep instantly again. I did have Kriya initiation years ago. But I live thousands of miles from where I had initiation so not vary interactive. So are we pushed from outside self do you presume ? Great talk, enjoyed it and keeping video for reference

You can't understand or convey what you call 'kundalini' through words, and to approach it through the concept of kundalini produces an immature, illusory, dogerol form of understanding that we call 'knowledge'. This is the immature stuff of an immature mind. Seeing and understanding the subtle inner dynamics within our own consciousness reveals the wordless process everyone is trying to control, coerce, or get excited about, but obviously, any imposition by the mind, any judgement of or attempt to get somewhere with this process, every interpretation of it or effort to tell others about it is an imposition on the free action of consciousness and therefore distorts and ruins the process. That includes people standing on their soap box and talking about it. This expresses and excites your enthusiasm but does absolutely nothing to help you or I transcend and transform. You don't realize that when you decide to help others you abandon the life path which was always and will always be about you, not others. Once you are transformed then the consciousness within you will be acting in freedom, and you can't assume or impose on it or decide in advance what kind of action that will be, because that is not freedom, and it creates illusion through presumption. There is no greater tragedy in the evolution of consciousness then to see people abandoning the truth by helping others or talking about stuff that is beyond words in words, therefore destroying and distorting all understanding.
The process is silent and beyond words and concepts. Words and concepts pervert, interfere with, and destroy the subtle process. That's why when you start talking about it you no longer grow in power and understanding. It is gratifying and keeps your spirits up in the short term but already this is the energy of illusion because it is based on believing you are doing something helpful for yourself or others.
I live in Brighton by the way. I'm a golden tramp and a golden vampire. I eat black vampires. Don't worry - your safe, but better flee to freedom, to the truth, or I might turn into a multicoloured demonic spider and tread the webs of your mind.
