Tommy's Afro looking like the biggest middle finger to his parents for giving him buzz cuts. Seriously tho, times were brutal back then. Becoming class chewing gum equivalent of head-slapping was a time when even the strongest look back and quake a little.

For me personally it was the kids with bowl cuts that were the dirty little bastards, once I walked in the bathroom and saw a kid snorting fun dip on the sink
At my school instead of fundip it was fricken suger
wtf that's wild
At mine instead of sugar it was co-
yeah it's gotta be because of the prevalence of straighter hair in Europe (where I'm from) , like, if someone would rock the bowl you know them momma didn't even take them to the barber
That would be a little concerning rather than disgusting...
I’ve lucky never been bullied for having a buzz cut and by the time I had an Afro I was in high school. Still it absolutely sucked, glad my parents are supportive of me growing my hair.
bro LUCKY
Man doesn’t understand how lucky he is
Bitch you lucky. My ass gotta deal with my mom callin me gay for having long ass hair.

Well im LeHeat James so yeah...
I had a buzz cut because I was in ROTC. I didn't get bullied because people who were in rotc had short hair. Back then, my hair has normal. It wasn't long enough to cover my eyes. 2 times in drama class people would pet it, saying it's a kiwi.
What's bull$#!% is that some people either had a slight longer hair or didn't shave, & they didn't get in trouble because the instructors have favoritism towards other cadets. Some people had the unfair advantage that if I try to do some stuff they did, they would call me out but in normal days I'd get ignored by the same people. They only talk to me when they need something.
white kids with buzz cuts do be annoying as hell. I’ve never met a white kid with a buzz cut that has washed their hands in the last 10 years
@@BalloonFN mon key moment 🙏🏿
Aaaahhh you're one of THOSE kids 🤔
This is relatable considering I’m getting my hair cut to a buzz tomorrow for ROTC I pray I don’t get clowned in the other classes 😂
Whats rotc
i am from india, and my mother forced me to get a buzz cut when we first moved to the USA because she thought it was much more "american"
literally all the kids were making fun of me except for my one asian friends lmao
As a native to the DMV, you spoke facts, middle school was a warzone no matter what you wore but the buzz cut will always award you with the painful but swift "SKEEEBOAT"
I remember when I was younger, I'd always get buzzcuts because my parents chose it for me and that's all I ever knew. Surprisingly, people never talked shit or laugh about it until I got to high school. Though, some of my high school teachers would state I look good with a buzzcut, not sure if it was genuine or just a facade...but I just have a combover now lol
Yo same, now that I'm finishing my junior years but literally back in primary school I was straight up having a military-style haircut every single time, the minimum time my hair was growing it was gone ofc when I was young I didn't care how I looked and stuff but then through time I slowly realized that I looked like a baseball so now I just let my hair grow

growing up in the caribbean, and in a pretty strict school, it was mandatory for boys to have ugly ass buzz cuts. However, my mom somehow convinced the school to let me go to school with long hair, and it was just me and one other dude in the class who had non buzzcut hair. As a result, I was bullied cuz mfs was jealous
Bruh your so right about this… and it’s every race! When my mom would force me to go to the barber shop and she would always have a big fight (only she would scream, I ain’t like that but she just rages) cause I always hated it, she acted like it hurt me or something, it didn’t! She was just deflecting because she knew I hated how it looked and felt!
The appearance of a kid should be a boundary that the parents shouldn't cross. I had a buzz cut for ALL of my school life, and it's almost the soul reason I hated life until 10th grade
Dude, my buzz cut experience was ROUGH. My dad gave me the buzz cut since he was cheap and was a soldier so he personally loves the buzz cut. I was bullied like crazy. One day he messed it up real bad. The comment that stuck with me the most was when a girl said that my forehead was so big you could play a movie on it. It was so bad teachers deadass asked “what happened to you.” Shit hurt.
I'm sorry you had to go through that bro, I've been through it too 💀😭
Ah man lol that sucks. I remember rocking it a few times through 8-10 grade and the most I got was a joke or two. Being chill with everyone probably helped me not get roasted that much though.
Especially as a Haitian American Black Guy. I relate to this so much from having a buzz cut for such a long time. Thankfully, those days are over.
3:25 you look like my brother😭
when I was forced to have a buzz cut, this is ridiculously true.
In 6th grade I often had a buzz cut, even though I didn’t like it considering it showed off my ears. Our school had a trend to not slap the head directly but rather slap your hands together right behind the head. One of the kids did this to me all the time.
One day I had enough and wanted revenge, so I attempted to do the same thing to him in one of the classes, but he caught me and we ended up wrestling each other. But then the teacher came in, and gave ME lunch detention for “rough housing.” The other kid got no detention but thankfully I only went to detention one other time after that.
Up until college I still somehow got a buzz cut even though I just said “just a trim,” when I grew out my hair for a semester worth of class. Today, I am still heavily reluctant on going to the barber.
I can relate to your hair growth journey just to get it chopped off. My dad "trimmed" mine himself because he didn't like the way my afro looked. Months of progress wasted 😭.
relatable
5:49 Something about the missing lion joke was just funny to me for a hot minute
Finally someone talks about the pain of buzzcuts . In middle school ppl bullied me on the daily for having that 💩 haircut ! I got jokes on how Stevie wonder did my hair, that I looked like little bill , or the most annoying of all is when random people either smacked my head out of nowhere or when they jumped to touch my bald head and yelled “MICHAEL JORDAN!” . Omg I was really just chilling and minding my business but nah kids would be wilding out here for over someone’s hair!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I literally got one just 20 minutes ago. My stress levels for school tomorrow are through the roof.
Bro i had one like months ago.... its not fun
I also got one many people liked it but two girls made fun of me because of it lol

Darlin you'll be okay
Going to an actual salon or stylist instead of the barber is self care. I was also a buzz cut kid then a bowl cut kid and then emo fringe kid. I had great choices in hair style as you can see.
Hate to say it but all of your haircuts are Ls.
My god
@@masterskywalker8877 buzz ain't an L but yes
I usually get buzzcuts since my dad would get one and it helped during the hot days (live in Florida so it is definitely beneficial). I didn't get made fun of or smacked in the head by students, even teachers and a few students liked it. And I hated haircuts when I was younger cause I have sensory processing disorder, luckily as I got older I really enjoy it and it's relaxing. But honestly I prefer to keep my hair but I don't really mind getting a buzzcut once in a while.
I can’t imagine getting a buzz cut. I almost died when I learned I had to get a hair cut for ROTC. (I used to have the American high school quiet kid cut.)
You're lucky that kids didn't slap you into he back of your head, because that stupid "I like ya cut g" meme caused it.

I remember the hairline roasts back in middle and high school. I never got buzz cuts thank god, but I do remember that those with buzz cuts had red marks on the back of their head from the smacks.
back in grade school there was a *girl* in our class who had a buzz cut and nobody really said anything. she simply didn't like long hair cause it was "itchy"

I 100% relate lmao. I used to get roasted, bullied, smaked in the head, just literally destroyed to a pulp because of my bald ahh head. My dad always told the barber to cut my hair and when I told my dad I wanted to grow my hair to a different style, it was like a crime scene. Yeah my mental is….. pretty f*cked😂
had a buzz cut but then i decided to accept it and get waves 😎
Nice
This dude spitting facts fr
The more the video progressed the more memories came flooding back; smack cam, report card buzz cuts, hitting the kids with the buzz cut in the cleanest parts of their head (where the fade starts it hurts them more)
The amount of times I've been called bald or anything revolving having no hair is limitless
Pfp fits
They called me the fresh prince of no hair
i cant even imagine this being reality in my school like every other dude has a buzzcut and they keep tellin other kids to get a buzzcut it's so popular bruh
It was either that or a number 2 in my Highschool.
The video at 2:07 😭😭 I NEED THAT
Nahhhh this straight facts. Soon as i got out the house, i started growing my locs out of spite because i was never "allowed" to have anything that required more than a small comb to maintain. Plus my facial hair started growing early and grew pretty fast, so i had to learn to shave at 14
i only had this in elementary but every other black kid had it so nobody could flame each other. 2000s man
Nah there is a difference between a skit and a brush cut
"I need my hair and you dont" has me rolling
For all my Mexican people out there we all know our parents wanted us to always get the John Cena hair cut
Going to School back then turned you into a real one.. nowadays everyone just cries like a not real one
You know shit got serious when you use your childhood pics to relive your trauma
This is exactly why when I became an adult, I started growing out my hair. It's naturally curly so it looks insanely better than it did buzzed.
What do your parents think of you having your hair grown out now
@@JohnBillow my dad could care less. My step mom hates it (but I hate her existence so it's good). My mom and step dad only worry that it isn't "professional". My grandma doesn't like it. Everyone else compliments it, including at work. So much for being unprofessional lol. I like it as a form of expression and style, so to my family: 🖕

bro I swear the teachers probably had wigs as well projecting their anger when they said that you couldn't wear hats to school, but in my high school, the teachers and staff members kinda just stopped caring later on with the hat policy cause bare people started wearing it more often
0:57 It's the satan version of Bredon Urie💀💀
As black kid with short hair I would always get slapped in the back by everyone at school. because my dad will always make me get a buzz cut because '' apparently it looks handsome ''. when I would get roasted by the hole class I would roast them back and leave them speechless,As soon as the bell rang for recess I soon as I stepped outside I jumped by the hole class by getting slapped in the back of the head.
Relateable as a black kid myself.
Lol me and some homies were originally trying to get buzzcuts in school for shits and giggles till the homie with the clippers backed out cause he didnt wanna get in trouble so I asked a staff member if we could the staff to ask the principal I did and I said it was for cancer awareness so what started as a joke is now an event for me 20+ homies to buzz our hair in front of the school for cancer awareness
Cancer awareness 💀
The amount of times I got called bald for having a buzz cut at school is insane
My parents always forced me to get buzzcuts as a kid, never was bullied for it but i always hated them. That was until i got older and discovered the world of ✨Fades✨. Now i get a low buzzcut skin fade and i feel like a model lmao.
My mom fucked up so hard with my haircut and my sister's when we were kids.
For me, she literally made me have a buzz cut everytime she cut my hair which was every 1 and a half months. With my sister, she brushed her long hair so hard my sister grew almost sort of a PTSD from how much pain it caused.
So now i have long hair and REFUSE to cut it and my sister has short hair and REFUSES to grow it.
This is straight fax bro. Back in 8th grade my buzz cut was so bad I purposely drank a lot of water in a short period of time and threw up, so I could skip school but my mom didn’t gaf and still made me go. I was trying so bad to hide but ofc teachers are some opps and made me take off my hoodie. Nigga the whole grade was clowning my shit, I literally wanted to cry like it was extremely bad 😭😭

7:48 this vid describes my school...only it's an all boys school
Hell nah
Yo that’s relatable I was forced to rock buzz cuts in school until I reached high school I started rockin Afros and temps
Reminds me of the time where I got this buzzcut in third grade and didn't want anybody to see to it so for weeks I'd have my hoodie on so nobody can see it, till one day the teacher held me back for recess for a bit to talk to me about the hoodie telling me i would get a heat stroke if i kept doing it, so i took off my hoodie and my classmates were literally at the corner of the hall laughing, really waited for me to do that, and so i imediately put it back on.
bullying is something that is less common in the uk but i used to have a skin head and istg the amount of slaps i received was crazy
We all know the feeling. Your dad pulls out the razor. Cuts the hair. You look in the mirror. Now Samantha who shared the desk next to you would clown you the whole class. Your confidence tanked for 2 weeks. People still called you bald. Even 2-3 weeks after

Bruh the "smack hand" era just became the "I Like ur cut G" Era People literally put HAND SANTIZER to enhance the Pain... after getting a Buzz or even a New cut in general. I was sitting in a seat in 8th Grade and some random 7 or 6 grader slap the shit outta the back of my head right in front of the dean...

Bruh how🤣
God, my dad always shaved my head. I'm serious, it was the worst. Beautiful hair pre-glow up that seriously would have saved my looks if they allowed me to grow it out sooner, the only reason I shaved my head last time is that I had lice and didn't have any money lmaooo
not many things make me laugh on yt these days but this did
Every time I got a buzz cut in the I like ya cut g days I’d get smacked so hard💀
I never got called names for having a buzzcut. If someone was making fun of me, they weren't brave enough to say it to my face (I had a mean look throughout high school and I still do)
