    Oh I am so sad to hear that Moynat has been struggling😢. I bought the Rejane bb during my trip to Paris this past December. The range of colours for the Gabrielle Clutch is soooo amazing, too! I hope they find a Creative Director who can take Moynat to where it should be, and most of all, retain the superb artisans behind those artful pieces.❤

    Thank you for bringing this to light. The situation occurs when large holding companies play musical chairs with their creative directors, shuffling them around without consideration for heritage or quality. I look for consistency in luxury brands, lacking now with Moynat. When Ramesh left, his fan club was bereft and didn’t buy the new designs.
    Another example is Delvaux who haven’t had a creative director since Christina Zeller left after the brand was purchased by Richemont. Supposedly they’re still looking, almost 3 years later. I certainly haven’t bought a Delvaux bag since then. I literally mourn Christina’s departure.

    I do not find LV the sort of brand that leans to elegance. In my opinion, it has become a fast fashion with an aesthetic that is gauche.
    Hopefully Moynat will find their path.

      A big shame…even if it was the Moynat of former glory i would still recommend Joseph Duclos. Consumers are getting considerable more quality and craft from Joseph Duclos than any brand is offering or can offer.

    I agree I’m pausing on any new Moynat for now!
    I feel LVMH is the worst of the luxury conglomerates when it comes to pushing for ever-bigger margins by lowering costs and therefore quality. 🤦🏻‍♀️ They have been purposeful and fairly upfront about it to their shareholders.
    (Sometimes I wonder if Bernard Arnault personally sought out the worst hardware in the world and now they have a stockpile for all their brands!?!)
    I too hope they don’t “ruin” Moynat with its history of beautiful craftsmanship.

    Thanks so much for such an informative discussion. It is a pity that Moynat is struggling. You made it very clear that the quality and craftsmanship of the new designs is inferior to Ramesh's previous designs and you can no longer recommend Moyat. I was planning on purchasing a new Gabrielle. Has the craftsmanship and quality of the Gabrielle now being introduced deteriorated since Ramesh left--or is it just the new designs? Are they cutting corners with old designs like Rejane and Gabrielle? Thanks!

    It is really nice that you are reaching out to brands but as a rule they do not reply to inquiries from the general public. They only respond to businesses that they work with on the supply chain, employment, financial institutions, and retail. This goes double for well established brands with international headquarters.

    Funny thing is - the brand has been having price increases while you mention the quality is slowly failing. I own a gaby purchased a few years back and it is made of the softest, most delectable leather I've ever seen. Perfect interior and exterior. • @princessdyn
    @princessdyn Před 6 měsíci

    Moynat sadly doesn't have an identity beyond "we had Ramesh Nair" which falls apart when he's been gone for a few years already. They are competing for clients who can afford Hermes, but realistically only those who choose to either not play the pre-spend game or want something different. Therefore, their bags (style, color) needed to be memorable enough to justify the price. But even the hype from influencers (it seemed like in 2018, everyone had a Réjane) has completely died down. Moynat relied too much on its creative director but couldn't keep their interest organically. Of course his fans are now following him to Joseph Duclos, going back to Hermes. LVMH also seems to invest more in JD right now

    • @SoAnesu
      @SoAnesu  Před 6 měsíci

      Joseph Duclos and LVMH are you saying they are linked?

  • @Ziegelp
    @Ziegelp Před 6 měsíci

    In your video last year about the holy trinity, you put Moynat firmly at the top (second only to Joseph Duclos and ahead of Hermes), selected the Flori as a showcase bag for the brand, and said that Nicholas Knightly had - and I quote - “raised the game”. That was 8 months ago. I’m having trouble reconciling that video with your view today: surely the quality has not dropped off a cliff in the space of just 8 months, which was already long after Ramesh Nair had gone. I also note that you made another video around the same time where you had only good things to say about the Flori. Were you wrong then?

    • @SoAnesu
      @SoAnesu  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I don’t think it’s a case of being right or wrong. Ramesh built a phenomenal brand there is no doubt about that as the evidence speaks for itself (the Flori and ensuing bags were built solidly on his legacy) but at some point Moynat started to undo all of his good work one step at a time and now the effects are slowly starting to come through.

  • @indoora
    @indoora Před 6 měsíci +1

    I noticed that you are comparing brands from different standards. Moynat's focus is handmade goods like Hermes, to compare them with Dior and Chanel that do not focus on handmade goods is like comparing Rolls Royce to BMW. They are all high-end but their demographics are not the same.

    • @SoAnesu

      @indoora Před 6 měsíci

      @@SoAnesu Now I understand. When I look at what each brand you named offers and how they make their products I find the reference is not of equal brands. The craftsmanship of Dior and Chanel is nowhere near that of Hermes. I enjoyed your analysis, and you offered some really good points.
