Social Media's affects on Celebrities and Their Fans

Please excuse the fan noise in the background. I get some of my most interesting or peculiar ideas when I'm going to bed LOL I kept thinking about how social media has affected us and celebrities and their fan base. Do you think social media has helped to revive the careers of those "famous folks" we fell in love with in "our day" and do you think it has helped to propel some of the folks that are famous now? Reminds me of britney spears instagram, which she uses to communicate with fans. Some are suspicious she isnt in full control of it, and her posts are rather odd, but its really cool to have our celebrities on a more accessible level
