FIXING this Busted Wing mirror is well OVERDUE!

- So today I'm finally deciding to attempt to fix the wing mirror on my MK2 Leon Cupra. It's been broken for 3 years now, so is definitely overdue a quick inspection and to see if I can sort it myself before splashing out on a replacement.

Top tip mate. Found out the hard way also😉 you can get the bolt for the mirror with a long extension and a wobbly Bit by just removing the speaker. It is a bit fiddly but doable. One of my pet hates is those bloody door cards 😂
Love this tip mate!! 🙏🏼 That still sounds 10x easier than refitting the door card 🤣🙈 I will now probably be doing it that way for the replacement mirror when it turns up 😎👍🏻

Nice one mate my passenger one is the same so mite have to try this on mine first before I order one.
Fingers crossed yours is repairable, but if not have a shop about for 2nd hand ones. Prices vary massively, and powerfolding option isn't always included 👍🏻

My right mirror doesn;t fold and I want to get a replacement one from the scrapyard. How many wires does the electrical folding mirror has?
I'm not 100% sure as it's just a multi plug connector on the mirror. Not sure if you can tell from the video how many were on my one.
The scrapyard should be able to tell you if it is folding or not though as there's a big price jump between a non folding and a folding one. Also you'll need to make sure you have the correct style (either pre facelift or a facelift version) 👍🏻
@@NorthCoastWorkshop thats the thing. Scrapyard doesnt know if its a foldin mirror or not and I have to figure out myself. So if I know how many wires, I can grab it for les $$$if the seller doesn't know. From the video i could see at least 6 wires
I imagine it'd be around 5 or 6, as normal non folding mirrors would probably have just 2 or 3 for the heated mirror element.
It'd probably be quite heavy in comparison to a normal mirror as it will have the folding motor within it.
Another thing is, you'd not be able to twist it by hand if it was power folding, whereas a non powerfolding will twist by hand (or it should if it's not seized.
Ive got to say mate because its funny . I tinted all car windows and unfortunately couldn't do without taking door cards off . Omg i wished id never started it . Really did take as long to put cards on back on then tinting few head butts along the way lol . Trying to put card on and put card in the groves and push up push down and catch my fingers and card went in ine way but came out soon as i put other side in . Not a job i want to do again you really should do a video of it mate please make my day
It's an absolute nightmare mate!! I've had mine off several times over the year, and broken clips and burst knuckles doing it 🙈
If I find a method that's reliably works, I'll be sure to make a video 😅

Yeah Rob, I feel that VAG folding door mirrors in general aren't that great as a year old polo I cleaned a while back had very dodgy sounding mirrors. In colder weather they just give up 🤣🙈 cheers for watching 👍🏻
When the second video came I had the same problem with returning everything.. 🙄🙄🙄🤔 I can't get two screws back...
My drivers one sticks, I give it a few slaps before turning ignition on haha
