For me this is the straw that breaks the camels back but im already pre-anoyed by being forced to create an account for every 2nd game i play even if its single player. On top of that i need an account to update my GPU drivers and now theres a steam game thats forcing me to create an account for hardware i dont even own. If this doesnt stop i can imagine in a couple of years we PC gamers are forced to share our data to be able to use peripheral hardware cause the newly bought headset needs an account. Someone has to stand up against this. Im doing my part by not playing anymore and skipping the new warbond.
You don't need a account to update your GPU drivers, neither with AMD, Intel, nor Nvidia.

I bought EVERY warbond, I bought EVERY special armor, I bought SUPER CITIZEN, and I bought the game at full price.
It ain't much in the grand scheme, but I'm hoping I get my $120+ back.
If enough people get their chunks of change back, maybe money might talk, maybe the data sold from the remaining Snoybeans vegetating and rooting into their moist chairs might offset it, time will tell.

So you don’t want to give your info but you want to use their servers for matchmaking? If I had to pay for servers, I’d make sure I knew who was using them.
I originally connected my psn account because I thought it was mandatory to play the game.
it was said a million times that it was mandatory for crossplay only, it's the reason we originally bought the game, disable crossplay and you'll never need it.
Maybe the account linking would be less damaging if AH/Sony actually addressed not requiring VS having to require it in the future well near the launch of HD2. The fact the just let it go the wayside and allow everyone to believe it was no longer a requirement to just flip the switch at a whim? Yeah, naw
I'm pretty sure it's a form of extortion. . . which is illegal.
It's not extortion, but it's illegal as the TOS have no legal bearing in most parts of the world and changing the text of the TOS doesn't get rid of any of your rights.
I'm sure most of us know what a dying game looks like, empty lobbies , wide open maps. this is misinformation helldiver 2 is alive and full you can't even get a game going without waiting for a space to open up.

With sony in the bucket, i bet they want to sell the super credits via psn to ditch steam 😂

I do hope game studios learn from this and avoid Sony as the plague they are.
Hope Steam refunds players affected and sends the bill to Sony or simply take it out of future revenue of Sony games (even better if they exclude Helldivers 2).

But in the end its always a human looking through your stuff whats the difference between gov / corporations and private people ? Why dont care about giving data to a human working at amazon but care about giving data to your neighbour or my colleague ?

Or compared to this situation : why would you voluntarily give extra money to a corporation after you bought something but not to a stranger on the street asking you so he can get a warm meal
The people who live in the 120+ countries without psn but bought the game full price care.

@@TheNitram8 Yeah, that is the part of this that is a serious controversy. All the people crying over this in countries where PSN is available are something else entirely. It literally says a PSN account is required on the store page ffs.
They changed the TOS, but that doesn't hold up legally in most parts of the world.
